John McCain visits Libya, says rebels are his "heroes"

Proving that dhimmi cluelessness is bipartisan. He shows no indication of knowing the reasons why I have argued that aiding the Libyan rebels aids the global jihad. "McCain Lauds Anti-Qaddafi Forces During Libya Visit," from Associated Press, April 22 (thanks to Mackie):

BENGHAZI, Libya -- U.S. Sen. John McCain, one of the strongest proponents in Congress of the American military intervention in Libya, said Friday that Libyan rebels fighting Muammar Qaddafi's troops are his heroes.

The top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee made the remark after arriving in Benghazi, a city that has been the opposition capital in the rebel-held eastern Libya.

McCain said he was in Benghazi "to get an on the ground assessment of the situation" and planned to meet with the rebel National Transition Council, the de-facto government in the eastern half of the country, and members of the rebel military.

"They are my heroes," McCain said of the rebels as he walked out of a local hotel in Benghazi. He was traveling in an armored Mercedes jeep and had a security detail. A few Libyans waved American flags as his vehicle drove past....

Well, I've often said I didn't see where Obama was substantially worse than Bush, and in many ways was substantially better.

I have to admit that as Obama pulls us into a wholly unjustifiable and costly war in Libya, I have felt that there really had been a reason to vote for McCain...up until now.

The US simply has no interest in the outcome of the Libyan conflict. It is obvious we will end up with a full-blown war, including guerrilla actions, IEDs, thousands of wounded and dead soldiers, and trillions of dollars...and for what?

Again, one can read the history of our Vietnam involvement in "Dereliction of Duty". President Johnson and Secretary of Defense pulled us into an extremely costly war in Vietnam that from the beginning involved no vital US interest whatsoever. The funny thing is, Bob Woodward's book, "Obama's Wars" details how all of Obama's military advisors have read and studied "Dereliction of Duty".

Dat proves too dat John McCain coulda presidents all by hisself...

Now, seriously, as RonaldB has written, there is really no reason at all for the US to believe that any outcome of this civil war in Libya would benefit it and the rest of the civilized non-mahoundian world in any way, shape or form.

The best outcome for the West, and one which Hugh Fitzgerald has written about at New English Review quite a few times lately (and in which no Western participation would be needed at all), is for Gaddafi to re-take Benghazi, and then the rebels to re-re-take Benghazi. And then for the city to be re-re-taken by Gaddafi. And then re-re-re-taken by the rebels.

And so long as one side takes, or re-takes, or re-re-re-takes, or re-re-re-re-takes this or that Libyan city, or chunk of the country, to be later taken again by the other side, and so on, the likelihood that they'd be in a position to inflict harm on us would be quite small.

McCain gets my vote for "Parrot of the Day".

RE: "Proving that dhimmi cluelessness is bipartisan."

Long before McCain stepped foot on the Libyan soil to cheer Libyan Jihadists on behalf of the American people, bipartisan Dhimmitude was firmly in place, as detailed below:

1. There was the Republican duo in the White House (viz. Reagan and the elder Bush) which let Pakistan develop the Islamic bomb (from stolen technologies, of course) by certifying to the Congress each year that Pakistan was not developing a nuclear bomb, to ensure continuation of U.S. economic and military aid to Pakistan.

2. And George W Bush became a 'Dhimmy-par-excellence' when he (a pea-brained, and totally clueless, Methodist) declared to the world that Islam is a religion of peace; mind you, this was just a few days of the 911 attack.

So, B Hussein O is just continuing the time-honored American tradition of strengthening the Islamists' supremacist agenda worldwide, and he is doing it with gusto.

Also, an honorable mention is owed to Jimmy Carter, whose NSF chief Zbigniew Brzezinsky stood on an Afghani hill (I still have a picture) with AK-47 brandishing Jihadists, and declared,"God is on your side." These Jihadists were the progenitors of Osama bin Laden and Zawahiri.

So, you can see that no one can ever accuse recent American presidents of being overly endowed with gray matter.

How could he?!! I read his biography, I thought this man is a hero! What's happening to Westerners worldwide? is it some kind of mental AIDS they catch?!!!

Sure it's proof of bi-partisan dhimmitude.

But it's also proof that had McCain won, we likely wouldn't have been better off against the Islamic supremacist wave.

John McCain: AKA John the Clueless.

That doddering old fool makes me glad I voted for the Constitution Party in 2008.
Just about everything he says should be taken with a large grain of salt.
If Islamist thugs are his heroes then he is welcome to stay with them.

The man's an idiot!

RonaldB wrote: The US simply has no interest in the outcome of the Libyan conflict.

Not strictly true, Libya is a major oil producer and the oil is now in the hands of the "rebels". Furthermore, the USA still has a score to settle with Qadaffi over the bombing of Pan Am 103 above Lockerbie in Scotland.

Of course, that's no reason to call Islamist thugs heroes, but you can see why America would think 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend, specially if he has oil.'

More evidence that John McCain was the lucky loser of he 08 campaign.

I'm sure that the rebels were flattering McCain that he should have been the winner of he 08 campaign.

Obviously, hopefully, no one showed Mc Cain, (nor did he apparently seek out the poll results) of what the polls have shown is in the hearts and minds of the rebels, which is mostly the evil heart of islam. Sad and disturbing, that he is a dhimmi, or worse, unless he was doing the only ligitimate excuse of taqqiyya, in reverse, to save his ars and get out of there.

Unfortunately, I doubt the latter benefit of the doubt, and also regret that he is clueless, as are most bipartisans, yet, and lazily and willingly so.

John, I like you. I voted for you. But, John, NOW, Just shut up.

McCain lost some brainpower in all those head smacks he got from the Viet Cong.

McCain:
-Wanted GITMO closed
-Wanted Cap & trade passed- he's a climate "truther"
-Is in favor of taxing, not spending reductions

You can tell a lot about a man by looking at his wife. Cindy McCain is a criminal, drug addict, and lunatic. Ditto for the fat daughter.

Remember that McCain told us, "We have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency."

I guess it's obvious how much I loathe this RINO. But I voted for him hoping Palin could talk some sense into him.
He needs to retire.

Hanoi Jane, move over for Benghazi John.

The guy most directly responsible for giving us "president" Obama now wants to give us "The Islamic Republic of Lybia."

Thanks, again, John.

This is the man who said he "admired the Islam."

Remember? Oh, and he added, "there's lots of good things in it."

It is a pity that an American hero like John McCain is such a doofus about Islam.

Did something happen to his brain? Alzheimer's?

McCain looks more and more like an old, grey mole with extraordinarily poor eyesight.

McMole's confused perceptions are becoming pathological....

John McCain visits Libya, says rebels are his "heroes"

Proving that dhimmi cluelessness is bipartisan.
..................................

I'm afraid so. I voted for John McCain in 2008—even at the time, though, I feared he'd be just about as clueless as George W. Bush was. And, sadly, in the almost three years since the election, he has yet to "disappoint".

More:

He shows no indication of knowing the reasons why I have argued that aiding the Libyan rebels aids the global jihad.
..................................

Too true. And why hasn't he? He's both a reasonably intelligent and generally decent man. And yet, like so many, he has learned *almost nothing* since 9/11.

Unlike so many Obama supporters-including many of those who directly council him—McCain appears smart and principled enough to realize that Ghaddafi is 'a bad guy'.

But that's about as far as it goes with him. He appears to naively assume that any adversary of Ghaddafi must, ergo, be an advocate of Jeffersonian democracy—a jaw-droppingly clueless assumption.

Nina wrote:

How could he?!! I read his biography, I thought this man is a hero! What's happening to Westerners worldwide? is it some kind of mental AIDS they catch?!!!
..................................

I still believe he's a hero on a personal level, Nina. Unlike some in the West, I don't believe he is actually *trying* to sell us out to Islam. In his own way, I believe he is actually trying to protect America and the West from what he understands to be "radical Islam"—I wish I could say the same thing with any degree of certainty about our current "Commander-in-Chief".

But folly can be just as harmful as evil—sometimes more so, because it maintains a better face.

I voted Constitutional Party in 2008 as well, I knew then there was no difference between McCain and Obama's policies. Only real difference was the speed at which they'd screw up the country.

McCain's statements just offer further proof towards my conjecture.

Long live the Constitution party.

There comes a time in a man's life when he needs to retire gracefully. John McCain is long past that time.

McCain's ignorance places him in the Muhammaden camp and therefore the target of all of our condemnations for now with possibly more later. Any attempts to or actual aiding and abetting our enemies and/or the enemies of humanity is a violation of the U.S. Constitution and global responsibility.

McCain, just like George W, are clueless about Islam. They, like almost everyone on the left, subscribe to the "tiny minority of extremists" belief, and think that Islam, overall, is a peaceful, tolerant religion.

Being a Republican does not mean that someone is more aware of the Islamic threat.

Further proof that he was not fit to be president.

McCain is the perfect example of an individual who has only a cursory working knowledge of what he is talking about. That knowledge is so in adequate for the task to be correctly identified and solved, and yet he persists in his knowledge that he, as one of the elite of our world, know best....the facts do not matter.

"Born in Arizona, he moved to Babylona, KING TUT!"

RonaldB is not alone on here, I've seen this before. He said that Vietnam had no vital interest for the US although he does see where the march of islam is of vital interest. I'm pleased he recognizes the latter and the former is now simply part of history's shadow but, once again, I must try to inform that the Viet Minh, Viet Cong,Sandanistas,Shining Path, Khmer Rouge, Pathot Loa, ANC, CPUSA, the Red Army, Castro, Mao, etc. were ALL part of the same ummah. Checkpoint Charlie, the 38th Parallel and Saigon were all part of the U.S. interest then just as Tehran, Mecca and Cairo are now.
The 58,000 men (and eight women) who died in Vietnam did not do so in vain nor did the 38,000 in Korea. Do not denigrate these men.
I agree, McCain must be suffering from some sort of delayed shock with this Lybian bullshit. Here, Lybia, we have the pleasure of watching Muslims kill Muslims. Let 'em go, baby, let 'em go. If the Viet Cong were to have somehow gotten into a fight with the Shining Path would McCain have interfered?

First, lets set the record straight, John McCain's conduct as a POW was covered up by the same leftist news media that covered up for Obama. Had McCain's collaboration with the enemy to earn favors as a POW been investigated he would have been court marshaled when he returned to America instead of being lauded as a hero.

That same leftist news media resurrected McCain's failed primary campaign because he was the weakest opponent running for president. That helped assure the media messiah to get elected.

John McCain called Barack Hussein Obama a Patriot but serious questions remain about both.
http://oldironsides-thesilentmajority.blogspot.com/2011/01/john-mccain-called-barack-hussein-obama.html

Senator John McCain is already known as one of the worst RINOs in the Republican Party but the one attribute that seems to keep getting him reelected, his status as a Vietnam war hero, may be just as fake as his Republican credentials. Now McCain, the person some fellow veterans have called a traitor and an enemy collaborator, has once again jumped in to defend our Marxist/Socialist leader by calling Barack Hussein Obama a “Patriot”. If Barack Hussein Obama is a 'Patriot' he must be the same variety as John McCain and Hanoi Jane Fonda.

McCain’s admiration for Obama first became evident during a Town Hall meeting in Lakeville, Minnesota during the 2008 presidential campaign, McCain showed his Republican audience the depths of his ignorance for which he was soundly booed when he said he respected Obama for his accomplishments and considered him a decent family man. As reported by Amie Parnes in Ben Smith’s column on Politico on October 10, 2008:

A man in the audience stood up and told McCain he's "scared" of an Obama presidency and who he'd select for the Supreme Court.

"I have to tell you. Sen. Obama is a decent person and a person you don't have to be scared of as president of the United States," McCain said as the crowd booed and shouted "Come on, John!"

Well, the facts are in and there is no need for more proof about who Obama appointed to the Supreme Court. He has added two of the most liberal women in politics and one of them, Elana Kagan, is even being accused of falsifying evidence while representing Obama’s White House as Solicitor General in a case she brought before the Supreme Court. And another, Sonya Sotomayor, who as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York was an activist judge who liberally interpreted the law based on her concept of social issues.

But no one will ever get a chance to resubmit that original question to John McCain about fearing Obama court appointees and pin him down on the answer he gave two years ago, so moving on to the subject of patriotism its time to burst a few bubbles about the war hero from Arizona because it seems that John McCain is a fake. According to the opinions expressed below the injuries McCain received that left him with restricted arm movement were the results of his ejecting from his aircraft and being stabbed with bayonets during his capture not as a prisoner of war. Here are some comments from military veterans and respected Republicans about John McCain’s service in Vietnam and his treatment of POW/MIA supporters while in Congress. These comments were originally posted on the web site http://www.mccainbetrayspows.com

I'm thinking Stockholm Syndrom/PTSD; he sees the scum similar to the scum that totured him inm the hanoi Hotel and he freezes, says what he's told wipes his brow and moves on never remembering he even said suck a lame thing. I'm glad i never voted for this guy. You'd think as olld as he is he wouldn't kow tow to the government mantra, M-bood is a no problem, nice people, will not hurt dhimmis( tell that to Restreopo guy, other journalists murdered or raped like Lara in Egypt)

McCain is a fool; but I wonder if he said anything else in country he's be shot despite who he is..who is he? i didn't vote obama either.
Lately I've heard kaddaffi is down to 40% soldiers, SO lets consider this dpuedo war, Kinetic Humanitarian BS...how many have did because our thief in chief has had a premonition, a prophecy and NEEDED to fire over 100 Yomahawks to eliminate "a possible bloodbath before it happened" bypassed congress and went to the UN? F*** HIM!
I believe there are so much bood shed, need less bloodshed but NO ONE is showing dead bodies; this is like some G rated A Team show where no one dies, but we know they are dying. Both sides are our enemy period. McCain? He's say"polly wanna cracker' and Obama ives him one. What happened to this man? I respect him but Obama seems determined to make McCain into some hostage for the thief in chiefs hopey/changey plans. I wish Mccain wuld speak for himself and if he can see through the fog anymore and those ARE his words well, I feel very bad for him and lost all respect, period. he should well knw they only showed selected areas , not the true battle,, damn it does no one in DC have a pair? Where's Allan West? hell send Bachman Palin or ( not a good idea to send a woman there so) or send the toupee guy Donnie Trump. Maybe Libya has the birth cerificate!

I too am surprised at John McCain's apparent unawareness of the stakes at issue regarding Libya's resistance movement. I had believed him to have good judgment.

NativeSOBdhimmi's comment about the Stockholm Syndrome (and PTSD) was something that I also considered during the Presidential Election speeches when McCain responded in a quiet logical but weak way to Obama's customary biting comments. I too thought that he was held back by phobic inhibitions, which certainly contributed to him losing the election. A great pity !

This is the same way i see it. Of course, this is sad and what we need is to send some missionaries to share the gospel, as in Mosab Yousef's case.
