I stand with Terry Jones. If the concern is Islamic violence, the city has an OBLIGATION to protect Jones, not to silence him. This trial is ridiculous and I think it's unconstitutional.

I'm starting to get really impressed by this Rev. Terry Jones. I initially thought he might just be an attention getting freak but he now seems one of the vanguard, in his way, of getting needed attention to the nature of Islam. He speaks well, he seems intelligent, and he has, as cops use to say, "balls to the walls!".

Anyway he seems to have at least a wrongful arrest lawsuit to win, esp. in view of the recent win by the New Jersey transit worker. More power to him, and shame on the cowardly & un-American Dearborn authorities, who I think are unwittingly helping his cause.

Seems to me the judge should be impeached. He/She is breaking the oath of office in not upholding his first amendament rights. Tar and Feathered, on a rail.

I've made this point elsewhere, but we need to drop Terry Jones like a radioactive hot potato. The fact that he chose to commemorate Good Friday by trying to aggressively get in the face of Muslims means he is no Man of God. This is a completetly unacceptable way to observe Good Friday. It's more like a desecration of Good Friday, and any observant Christian knows this.

If you want to get up in arms about the doings in Dearborn Michigan, take up the case of the kids who were arrested for prosletyzinf Christianity at a Muslim event that was clearly meant to proselytize Islam. I personally am inspired by the Pastors bravery, and given the chance would proudly shake his hand, but he really needs to beef up his knowledge of Islam. Watching him speak on a panel on my local news station was downright painful, as the opposition easily made him seem foolish and uninformed. If only he had the knowledge and guile of Spencer or Geller, but then I doubt the panel would have even invited him in the first place were that the case.

The muslims in Dearbornistan must be pretty pleased with themselves today. What's happening in Dearborn is right out of the islamic playbook for conquest.

First they immigrate (read, invade) and form their own enclave within the host country. Then they infiltrate public positions (police chief Ron Haddad?), claiming to be a "privilieged minority." Word gets out and more muslims populate the "muslim friendly" colony. They gig the system, eating-up entitlements while they procreate for allah. They build a mosque, attracting even more colonists. Now they're "members of the community." As such they preach "interfaith understanding" to assuage the gullible and when their numbers are sufficient they can intimidate the rest. The above process goes rinse-and-repeat until they ARE the community. Now they have their state-within-a-state where they can dictate to the locals, defend their "turf," and decide the law for themselves. And we get Acts 17 and Terry Jones.

I don't think Jones is the greatest spokesman for the anti-jihad. But I do give him credit for confronting the beast in its lair. But this isn't really about Terry Jones. It's about the town formerly known as Dearborn. It's about what can happen in anytown USA if it's not STOPPED NOW...

As for the Pastor -- Jones started out a clown and unfocused, his press statements a mess, but these days his statements are exactly on target and well-considered. This goofball has been emerging as a well spoken hero of free speech. He must be getting some professional coaching or something, not to take anything away from him. Read his quotes in recent stories. These are well crafted soundbytes.

The city fathers of Dearborn have proved the lie of Islam: Islam is not a religion of peace and where Islam goes, fear, intimidation and violence will ALWAYS follow.
Of course we can't blame those same city fathers for fearing that their city would be burned to the ground and their citizens slaughtered in the streets and in their beds. The lessons of history and current events are sufficient demonstrations of that inevitability.
Once Islam becomes established the fear, intimidation and violence does not end as these are the tools used by Shariah to keep the population in line.
For all practical purposes Dearborn's city fathers have kissed the Constitution goodbye. Even though Jones is not a sympathetic 'martyr,' as some have pointed out in this commentary, he has brought the danger to national attention so that Americans can understand: Islam comes in, Constitutional rights are suspended and then abrogated in favor of international law and eventually Sharia.
Certainly this country will go up in flames if the Sharia movement spreads. One wonders if there is jail space for all the millions of protestors that could rise up in defense of the Constitution? Ironically, the fines could go a long way to settle the national debt. But then again that amount would be offset to pay the salaries of the National Guard units that would be called out to quell the "rebellion."
Obviously Jones isn't the real culprit. Instead the culprits will be those that would riot and slaughter because of the burning of a book. And certainly, as shown by the beheadings of the UN workers I'm Afghanistan because of events many thousands of miles away, rioting and slaughter could happen in any community, at any moment across the world ... and throughout the Unites States ... with the pretext of avenging Jones's act.
Spencer and others, including sages throughout history, have warned that this would happen. Unfortunately no one wanted to listen.

The Pastor Jones proves to be rational and stands solid on his moral ground. His clarity on this issue, unlike many of his co-religionists, ought to be commended.

I am nearly 68 years old, and 11 years ago I NEVER would have dreamed, that the America which I grew up in, would have so greatly fallen into the rubble, the waste, and the mire in which she now she now finds herself in. Much, Much, more died on 911 than the 3000+ souls which were so horrifically snuffed out by the cunning, deceitful, treacherous, group of vipers, for I will NOT call them men, but rather I will call them and their vicious act, COWARDS,for it was as cowards they carried out their barbaric deed.

Yes, I will go on record as saying that along with the murdered mass of Americans who died on that day, that the fighting spirit which made America once great must have been killed within the hearts of most of her people at the same time. HEAR ME OUT! I do know that there are yet among us are many who have the courage to fight back, but for the MOST of what is here in America today is the Summer Soldier and the Sunshine Patriot. What will it take to get the people of this nation to stand up against this ever encroaching cancer which does not sleep, does not slow down, and does not relent in its digestion of the heart of our Nation? Oh God Almighty, give us another George Washington, another Benjamin Franklin, another Thomas Jefferson, and another Patrick Henry! May they come forward to stir up the hearts of this sleeping giant!

Wake up! America! Wake up! You Soldiers of this land, and fan the fire of freedom across this nation once more. God, give us direction and give us the boldness and courage to stand and fight against the terror which strikes with stealth and without warning, and enable us to stand forth to fight for the freedom of this land and the lives of our families. Help us Oh God to proceed with boldness against that evil which daily threatens every aspect of our lives; and strengthen our hands in the struggle against that which seeks to take both our freedom and our lives; and this I pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord; Amen, and amen.

This is AMERICA and if the muslims don't like it then they should leave and get the hell out of this country. They should run the mayor out of town on a rail, tarred and feathered. If anyone says that they are Americans but want sharia law then they are lying and they do not belong in this country. Support Terry Jones for standing up for our freedom.
