Qur'an-burning pastor rejects Bill O'Reilly's "blood on his hands" accusation: "The responsibility should be laid upon the people who committed the acts"

Bill O'Reilly, in an outstanding display of moral idiocy, has blamed Terry Jones for the murders of innocent people in Afghanistan. Consider a thought experiment: what if Bill O'Reilly himself, in a fit of rage, murdered someone who called him a "racist" -- a common enough, and utterly empty, epithet that the Left uses against conservatives. Would anyone blame the accusing Leftist for O'Reilly's act? Anyone at all?

"Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones defends himself against Bill O'Reilly who called him 'insane,'" by Nancy Dillon for the New York Daily News, April 5:

Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones struck back at Bill O'Reilly Tuesday after the conservative Fox News host called him an "insane Christian" who had "blood on his hands."

The fringe Florida pastor said he bears no responsibility for the 24 deaths resulting from Afghan protests sparked by his March 20 desecration of the Islamic holy book in Florida.

"We reject Mr. O'Reilly's statement. The responsibility should be laid upon the people who committed the acts," he said in a statement to the Daily News.

"The recent events are an example of the violent nature of Islam. Just because a book was burned, they used this as an excuse to retaliate. We should not in any way condone their actions," he said....

Indeed.

I quit watching O'Reilly...because I was getting horse yelling at the television...Talk about dense...I can't make up my mind who I dislike most Bill or Alan Colmes...I watch Judge Judy instead...She never lies...

Bill O'Reilly, in an outstanding moment of moral idiocy....

I think I would strike "moral" from the above sentence fragment as it suggests O'Reilly's "idiocy" is limited to moral matters when we all know his particular strain of "idiocy" is all encompassing!

Perhaps Ann Barnhardt will turn her attention to Bill O'Reilly now. He's a suitable target.

O'Reilly also said that the trouble with Revolution Islam around this time last year was the fault of the guys who make South Park and suggested that the right thing to do is refrain from mocking or depicting Muhammad.

So yeah. He's been lost on this issue for a long time.

Bill O'Reilly is typically right on point with his irrelevant, jargon laced, political "commentary". Ass hat.

In this case I fully agree with Pastor Terry Jones

I was watching O’reilly when he made that comment and I couldn’t help yelling at the TV “there goes O’reilly playing directly into being sharia compliant”! like Lindsey Graham, and Joe Klein and like many other air heads who fail to look at the big picture.

You had Senator Graham equating it to burning the American flag "what is wrong with this guy lately??"

Senator Graham; how many went on a killing rampage after an American Flag was burned? The answer is zero.

Bill O’Reilly; How many Christians have gone on a killing rampage when a Bible is desecrated or a cross is put in a jar of urine ? The answer is zero.

How many Jews have gone on a rampage when a Torah is desecrated? The answer is zero.

What makes me angry was a Muslim trying to say that the words in the Quran are from God but the words in the Bible are from a man.

Mohamed in fact was a nobody until he was well into his forties. He managed to have about 150 followers for his first 13 years of preaching in Mecca and was just an irritant to the Arabs there near the Kaba. Mohamed even tried to appease the Arabs in Mecca by in-cooperating some of their pagan traditions of praying to hundreds of stones before he and his little band of followers left for Medina and became marauding and murdering bandits.

Again, my Catholic bishops here in the states and overseas are just as dense as O'Reilly, demanding that I respect Islam. Respect of the human dignity of Muslims is the only thing demanded by our doctrine. I am not required to respect an ideology which I believe is from Satan, especially when on Easter we Catholics will once again renew our Baptismal vows and reject Satan and "all his works" and "all his lies". Could you get a better definition of Sharia and the Quran?

Today we are to bow and scrape at their "holy" book. Tomorrow, with their supremacist mindset, the Jihadis will announce that they are offended by my beautiful curly locks not being covered by a scarf and use this as an excuse to murder my Christian sisters and brothers in lands controlled by Muslims. Perhaps in 5 years they will demand that my little black dog will have to be euthanized.

With the dhimmis in our academe, media and government, any groveling - even to the point of slaughtering the innocents -- is possible. Look how silent our mainstream media has been about the slaughter of little Hadas Fogal (3 months old) and her family. Were it not for the internet, we would not be informed of her death. She burned no book. She was killed for breathing while Jewish! Does Mr. O'Reilly and my Catholic bishops want the surviving Fogal children to apologize for their baby sister's offending breath!?!

Pastor Jones, is a brave priest among many cowards (many Satanic Churches have bowed down to Islam - our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to love people, not evilness of people or beliefs since He hates evilness - He came down so humbly in human flesh to SAVE us from evilness). Freedom of speech is the most fundamental aspect that our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to free ourselves from evil, including wickedness of the world and humanity. Due to our Lord Christ who went around preaching the truths freely to the righteous poor Jews despite of the opposition of many of the still arrogant elite class, Christianity was 'born'. And we're supposed to kneel down like SLAVES to Islam and Muslim fanatics who're trying to shut us up from hearing the truths? Even in the supposedly free West? That is truly INSANE!

What more should we expect from the man who would have helped Imam Rauf build his supremacist mosque if he'd denounced Islamic terrorism on his show?

Jones is right.

Apart from the obscene exclusion of Islam what other religious or political group would get the free pass of such easy 'provocation' when indulging in an orgy of mass slaughter?

Rather than clamping down, Jones philosophy if not his methodology should be extoled in every democracy on the planet.

Robert has said in interview with Jamie Glazov that he'd rather people read the book than burn it and I agree totally.

Koran readings to mass audiences or on video exposing the violence which is contained within its hallowed covers could be a start.

Then an impeccably evidence based examnation of the correlation between what Mohammed exhorts and what is going on right now would cement the relationship.

Wilders Fitna did just that and look at the Islamic furore coupled with his meteoric rise within European politics.

We need to get the message out. We need to bypass the lying clowns who infest our MSM and political arenas. If they're not up to the job whether because of PC or special interests the internet is just waiting to do it for them.

Our PM has just indulged in such a grovel fest in Pakistan and already the howls of outrage are rippling his world.

Some are saying that he's indulging our three million Pakistani voting bloc, that leaves sixty million of the rest. And as can be imagined, they're not happy.

We, in Europe and America are the majority yet are condemned to the metaphorical 'plantation, dispossesed and voiceless and until fairly recently rudderless.

It has to change. Using Obama's tactics we need to organise, block by block and fight the menace of these bigots.

Only then will our leaders and opinion formers take note.

jones is right and oriely is a jack ass.

There's a poll at the linked New York Daily News article. Thus far, a large majority of respondents are blaming Terry Jones for the attacks. Once again we see a misleading discrepancy between the question and the responses. Anyways, despite all the problems with this unscientific poll, which I will not enumerate here, it is still disturbing that there are apparently this many moral imbeciles in the population.

From the article poll:
"Do you think Florida pastor Terry Jones' burning of the Koran is to blame for the deadly attack on a U.N. compound in Afghanistan?"

77% Yes, he sparked outrage that led to the attacks.
23% No, the protesters are the only ones responsible for the murders.
0% I'm not sure. "
--------------------

It's also conspicuous that these polls don't ask whether or not Jones should be held legally responsible for the murders. People who are claiming that Jones is to blame for the murders need to get straight whether they think Jones is guilty of contributing to murder, and therefore should be legally punished, or whether they think he has a right to express his views by burning his copy of a Qur'an. You can't, sensibly, coherently, have both.

O'Reilly has become a parody. He fully supports the neocon democracy project stance, with his support for engagement in Libya on moral grounds.

His condemnation of Jones as equally responsible as Karzai on this issue is detestable.

His refusal to acknowledge that the "Muslim" problem,(that he likes to refer to it as), by wholly dissassociating it from Islam is absurdly naive, useless and dangerous.

He recently said, when he had Trump on, that in his estimation, 89% of the world's Muslims are good Muslims. Of course he had nothing to back that up except his own wishful thinking, but that is the shell of the man left.

He sounds more and more like a liberal with each and every passing day.

The only reason to watch O'Reilly is Bernie Goldberg or Ann Coulter. Otherwise, turn off the tube.
I heard Pastor Jones on Steve Malzberg (?) radio show recently and the man was eloquent and oh so right.
The most depressing thing was seeing Jennifer Griffin, the Fox News Pentagon correspondent, on C-SPAN denouncing Jones' actions.
It's sad that JOURNALISTS cannot distinguish between supporting someone's words and supporting his right to speak. Nothing Jones did or said hurt anyone (including our soldiers) in Afghanistan. He didn't hurt a single Muslim. He didn't touch Muslim property. Contrast him with the Pakistanis (the same people whose ambassador is worried about the hurt feelings of Muslims around the world) who killed Christians and burned down churches.

PMK, unfortunately Fox News have been hijacked by the Saudis! See - http://thinkprogress.org/2010/02/10/right-rebels-foxnews/

Conservative Activists Rebel Against Fox News: Saudi Ownership Is ‘Really Dangerous For America’

By Lee Fang on Feb 10th, 20107

Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin TalalSaudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal owns a 7 percent stake in News Corp — the parent company of Fox News — making him the largest shareholder outside the family of News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch. Alwaleed has grown close with the Murdoch enterprise, recently endorsing James Murdoch to succeed his father and creating a content-sharing agreement with Fox News for his own media conglomerate, Rotana.

Last weekend, at the right-wing Constitutional Coalition’s annual conference in St. Louis, Joseph Farah, publisher of the far right WorldNetDaily, blasted Fox News for its relationship with Alwaleed. Farah noted correctly that Alwaleed had boasted in the past about forcing Fox News to change its content relating to its coverage of riots in Paris, and warned that such foreign ownership of American media is “really dangerous.” ThinkProgress was at the speech and observed attendees of the conference murmuring and shaking their heads in disapproval......

Oh I forgot, now the Saudi Royals in Fox News are trying to 'SUBDUE' Donald Trump by getting him on board of Fox News! I read it some where in WND but I've lost the link.

A sure sign that someone is trying to spin you silly: they keep insisting that are NOT spinning you ("No Spin Zone")

I've been disgusted with O'Reilly for awhile, but it's not just him - Hannity had Jones on his radio show and he basically said the same thing.

These guys just are not taking this and *following through* in their minds to the logical conclusion that condemnation of Jones, or moral equivalence between Koran burning and murder, makes no sense at all.

They are *stuck* on *Muslims just do this automatically so don't provoke them.*

The only reason I ever watched O'Retard's show was for the Dennis Miller segment. Now THAT guy is not only too funny but he ridicules and criticizes muslims and islam every chance he gets.

Fox should drop O'Retard and give Miller his own show. O is just a pompous self-absorbed twit.

Let the PC fool know what you think, people:

oreilly@foxnews.com

O'Riley a concervative?
You're joking right?

I just did, thanks...and I hope everyone else will to. This is a chance to hopefully teach him about Islam...and he needs it.

O'Reilly needs to "wise up"...

PMK

Jennifer Griffen was the FNC newsperson in Israel for a while, and ought to know better having reported all those homicide bombings, but after that, being assigned to places like Afghanistan & Pakistan in her burqha has obviously affected her mind. I wish FNC had never relocated her to Afghanistan or Pakistan, but left her in Israel or the US.

Anyway, just like McCain was no better than the Democrats, FNC is no better than CNN, MSNBC, et al when it comes to Islam related material. As Debbie calls it, it's PAWNN (Prince al Waleed News Network) and absolutely not on our side. Everybody there - Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly is a fraud (except perhaps Neil Cavuto)

Before blaming Pastor Jones for this Bill O'Reilley should have remembered he lives in a pico thin glass house crammed to the rafters with pitch plack pots.

Gee, Truthiocity, what ever do you mean by that? Let me explain:

O'Reilley incited people against one Dr. Tiller and presented information about the man's location to the public. Shortly after somebody went to Dr. Tiller's location and killed him. That is far worse than what he mistakenly accuses Pastor Jones of.

Pastor Jones expected protests like the Motoons Protests. He did not forsee that his act would be cynically exploited for political and military purposes. How could he have?

Seriously, have any of you ever thought someone would use your JW comment or youtube video or blog post as an excuse to kill 20 or more people in cold blood? OF COURSE NOT. You would have to be insane to think anything one thing you said could have such a large effect. There is no possible way Pastor Jones could have predicted his actions would be used as an excuse for a series of murders. Murders, I might add, that were entirely planned out and orchestrated not by random mobs but by hardened Taliban butchers.

I would have to be a paranoid schizophrenic to think the Taliban would even hear about anything I said or did. Pastor Jones only mistake was that his thinking was TOO rational.

O'Reilley on the other hand knew exactly what would happen if he puplished the location of somene he was railing against.

He should keep his venomous pie hole shut about Pastor Jones right to free speach.

I was writing a blog post about this when I had a little realization (it may be obvious and maybe implicitly implied in everything already said but I'm not sure I've read it anywhere explicitly spelled out).

This series of murders is not the example the OIC would like it to seem. A religon was insulted- but the result was NOT members of that religion being killed. Rather it was the members of that religion who killed non members as a result.

So it is absolutely not illustrative of the dangers of permitting the defamation of religion that the OIC would like people to think it is. It is, in fact, the perfect example of what happens when you do not permit free speach to be universally respected (ta-DAAA!).

It is the twisting of reason and reality for the OIC to use these atrocities to make a point in support against the defamation of religion.

O'Reilly is an arrogant, inflated idiot. He dances to the tune of his Saudi paymasters and is scared shitless to say anything against Islam. Fox are now getting rid of Glenn Beck. In the last few weeks Beck has lambasted the Middle East "democracy movement", connecting it with far left machinations and, most surprisingly, he has been avidly and very vocally supporting and advocating Israel and Israel's right to exist. Well, blow me down, yesterday he announced he would not be presenting the GB programme any longer. Not sure when it will stop, but it's a great shame and a great loss for us, right thinking people.

On a different note, Katharina, I aks you respectfully to please slow down with the Jesus worship. You seem to have gone from one extreme (Islam) to another (excessive Christian worship). Can't you do anything in moderation? We really appreciate having you on our side, but please don't shove Christ and Christianity down our throats in every post.

I used to think O'Reilly was just a cocky guy. Now I think he's cocky from the tooley. Should we also blame Boeing for manufacturing the planes that hit the twin towers? What an "A Hole"

As of late O-Reilly is a self proclaimed God of talk shows. He really is a shallow weasel of a man. He flip flops on positions as does Obamma and Hillary, and he should pack it in. He could not retire fast enough in my humble opinion. Who needs him?

I'd like to see him in a boxing match w/ Geraldo Rivera and Rivera kicks his hiney all over the ring.

Infidel Pride,

I don't remember Griffin being assigned to Afghanistan or Pakistan. She was in Israel for several years. I remember seeing her wearing a hijab when she interviewed some Palestinian leaders but I never saw her in Pakistan. She came back to the US because she had breast cancer. She was off the air for several months and then showed up at the Pentagon. Her comment bothered me because I thought, like you, that she should have known better.
These people were murdering UN representatives before anyone even heard of Terry Jones. The idea that someone who makes her living thanks to the First Amendment would think people like Jones should be silenced is anathema.

It would be more believable if they weren't shown burning our sacred flag while they were agonizing over the Koran burning. They can't have it both ways.
If they stop showing disrespect...then they can demand it for themselves. Then it makes sense!
Don't bother! We know what they are...not human!

The responsibility rests entirely with the delusional Muhammad (MHRIH) and his mythical Allah.

The GLOBAL JIHAD is encouraging and promoting these acts of violence against non-Muslims all over the world, these jihad crimes. They are not the responsibility of one man making a statement by burning a Quran. That action is considered an indefensible provocation and rationalization for murder under Sharia law, but such a removed and staged demonstration is protected as free speech under U.S. law.
