Time Magazine's Joe Klein: Qur'an-burning an "act as murderous as any suicide bomber's"

Jones, of course, killed no one. Suicide bombers kill as many people as they can for Allah. But Joe Klein is by no means alone in assuming that Muslims cannot control themselves and respond to insult with anything but threats and murder, and thus cannot be held responsible for their own actions. He thus reveals again the multicultural Left's bigotry and ethnocentrism. "Joe Klein Reserves Spot in Hell for Koran-burning Pastor Who's As 'Murderous' As 'Suicide Bombers,'" by Ken Shepherd for NewsBusters, April 4 (thanks to James):

Burning a copy of the Koran is morally equivalent to flying a plane into the World Trade Center and equally eternally damnable.

That's essentially the fatwa of Time magazine's Joe Klein in an April 1 blog post at the magazine's Swampland blog.

Klein was condemning Florida pastor Terry Jones's "trial" and subsequent burning of a Koran which allegedly have sparked a murderous rampage against UN workers in Afghanistan last week:

[T]here should be no confusion about this: Jones's act was murderous as any suicide bomber's. If there is a hell, he's just guaranteed himself an afterlifetime membership.

Concerning the Qur'an-burning, you MUST check out the Miami Herald's Editorial.

Here's a sample:

"Not this man of God, though, who preaches mindless claptrap labeling Islam and the Quran as instruments of violence, death and terrorism."

!

Oh, and this:

"Though he is entitled to his beliefs, his fomenting of discord goes against the universal rule shared by all religions: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Since when did Islam get the Golden Rule?

Joe Klein "can take his dhimmitude and shove it up his ass."

Despicable lunacy. Fear is the surest way for the coward and the appeaser to mobilize a draconian momentum against the rights of his own countrymen. Fear transforms the necessity of resolved defense into the perversions of sedition, attrition, and complacent abdication. These are the greatest threats; these squandered and defeated citizens, seeing nothing but their own demise, then flee into the ranks of their oppressors. Pathetic.

So burning a book is equip to mass murder now??? I heard it all I thought I couldn't get any more sick to my stomach by these Dhimmi morons in the left.... Just look inside the Koran Joe you idiot, these PC libtards defend the idealogy that would decapitate them in a heartbeat... its true insanity WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO WAKE UP????? I wanna scream so bad some days at the top of my lungs when I read crap from people like Joe Klein.

Hey People - I found this. You can let Mr. Klein know your thoughts:

http://www.time.com/time/columnist/klein/email.html

My god! What is wrong with these people?!

Have we entered the twilight zone?

Ken Shepard put it aptly:

"Burning a copy of the Koran is morally equivalent to flying a plane into the World Trade Center and equally eternally damnable."

This idiocy is why I stopped swallowing the liberal moral and cultural relativism kool-aid.

This whacky pastor burned a book. That's it. He did not threaten to harm anyone. He did not imply or encourage anyone to harm anyone else.

The "outraged mohammadans" SAWED PEOPLE'S HEADS OFF!

Please, if there are any liberals here, please explain to me how these actions and behaviours are equally immoral. I really want to know.

And where are the Joe Kleins of the world condemning the Maplethorpes of the world who create "art" like "piss Christ?" Using his logic it would be Maplethorpe's fault if some pissed off priest sawed his head off.

I am just absolutely stunned. The liberals have reached a new low. They're absolutely insane.

If I raped and killed him because I was outraged at his article would he say that he and his article were as murderous as I am for raping and murdering him????

Really? Wow.

Please, someone wake me up from this nightmare.

Really, I am on the verge of tears. How can any human being with even an ounce of morality or common sense compare burning a book to sawing people's heads off? And these are the people in our schools and universities indoctrinating your children.

Might as well start digging the holes. At this rate these lunatics will have the authorities convinced that a woman's accusations against her rapist are just as evil and as punishable as the actions of her rapist.

Let's not forget that the borders of supposed "sacrelige" in Islam extend deep into territory none of us would even think of ceding. It's not just burning a Koran that qualifies but even something as innocuous as flushing once down the toilet ... no, I'm kidding. Of course that's on the same level, whatever that may be.

But seriously though, what if Jones had just drawn another Muhammad cartoon an act we recall that many Muslims have used as an excuse for wholesale slaughter? Westergaard took some misguided flak as being responsible for those murders but nothing like Jones gets. My point is that, while we in the West have a stronger revulsion to the notion of book-burning of any kind, let alone of someone's supposed scriptures, perhaps because we invoke Nazi bonfires a bit too easily, Muslims, on the other hand, treat even the slightest insult as a full-on provocation.

Yes, Sir. That was a tribute to Ann Barnhardt. She's had me so fired up today I'm still up sending her vids out, talking to my mates, and rocking to the best of 70's Rock & Roll.

I ought to get to sleep though. Funny as old as I am I should have learned to control my andrenaline by now.

It's just been such an exhilarating day.

Thanks for responding... AND AMEN!!

Lindsey Graham missed supper tonight because he was sobbing in the men's room, I heard Joe was with him.

Done and done.

In the letter I was not rude and did not deliver insults but presented conclusions based upon what is now publicly known that would absolve Pastor Jones of responsibility in the mind of a man who knows about ME "street politics".

Can't repeat this enough, give Mr. Klein a piece of your mind!

http://www.time.com/time/columnist/klein/email.html

Hey Joe - Having reverence for the Koran is the same as having reverence for murder. Having reverence for the Koran is the moral equivalent of hijacking an airplane and crashing it into an office building killing thousands of innocent people. The Koran is a manual for warfare against, and murder of, the unbelievers. (That's us, Joe).

All of you are being far to nice, polite and measured in your responses. I can't even find the words to express my anger at this statement. And if I could I'd be banned from JW for the rest of my life.

Istanbul_Chick, you're the only one who had a relatively proper response (other than simply exploding, which seems to be what's about to happen to me without the help of a suicide bomber or a rocket - maybe you should hold Joe Klein responsible for my "murder" for which he will no doubt burn in hell together with Terry Jones and the head choppers of innocent people because aggressive expression is just the same as murder, so maybe it should also be outlawed) even though you didn't curse which you should have. And no, calling this type of fake-liberals (how can someone saying something like that be described as a true liberal?), calling this all too common kind of "liberals" insane isn't a curse, but a statement of fact.

"And these are the people in our schools and universities indoctrinating your children."

Exactly. This has been going on for a long while now and that is the source cause for the West's systematic failure. "Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad".

My email to Klein, which I guess he'll never read.

Joe, you wrote, "But there should be no confusion about this: Jones's act was murderous as any suicide bomber's. If there is a hell, he's just guaranteed himself an afterlifetime membership."

Burning one's own copy of a book is as murderous as literally killing someone? Isn't that like saying that burning the American flag is as murderous as killing an American? Or that putting a crucifix in some urine and calling it art is as murderous as crucifying Christ?

I'm glad you didn't damn flag burners and pseudo-artists to eternal perdition. But I wonder about your double standard, Joe. Are you afraid of how some Muslims, or the PC police, might respond to you?

If you are afraid of Muslims to the point where you are no longer capable of being balanced in what you write, then shouldn't you find another line of work than journalism?

Burning one's own copy of the Qur'an only superficially resembles Fahrenheit 451 or Nazi book burnings. Those were attempts by mobs and states to suppress expression by anyone. Burning one's own Qur'an is not a call for the state to burn all Qur'ans or to suppress expression or knowledge. In a world full of death threats against those journalists, artists, and politicians who dare to criticize the Qur'an, burning one's own copy is an act of expression that is very much like tearing down a statue of Mao, Stalin, or Hitler. It's an act of defiance to a tyrant. Only PC blinders could make that patent reality invisible to you. Your equation of actual murder with someone burning his own Qur'an in the face of murderous thugs who threaten him with death and who kill people around the world for Allah is beyond foolish. If I ever come across your columns again, I'll know to avoid them in favor of writers still capable of balance and intelligence.

wow this joe fellow is as easily offended as a moslem. of course, burning a holy book in a free democracy is far worse than suicide bombing , daily, hourly, in the name of Ah-lalala.

joe, get your head out of the sand.

Wonder just how much Joe Klein knows about Islam. Not much would be my guess. He doesn't know much about the First Amendment either. Stunning and dangerous ignorance.

But I'll bet Klein had no problem with The New York Times running something like 48 front page articles on Abu Graib, a totally overhyped story which whipped up extra animosity towards American soldiers in general and thus put them in greater danger. And what of Newsweek irresponsibly publishing an article about the Koran being flushed down a toilet at Gitmo which turned out not to be true but still put mucho Muslims in hysterics? Did Klein get himself in a high moral dudgeon over this? Bet not. I detect not only stupidity and ignorance here but hypocrisy as well.

LOL One can only hope and I hope I am part of the reason. I sent that weasely little man a piece of my mind.

"even though you didn't curse which you should have."

I'm trying to stop my cursing. My potty-mouth is going to kill me. Literally.

When I am using "colourful euphemisms" in my posts you can be sure that my face is red, my breathing is rapid and shallow and my temples are visibly throbbing and like you I am on the verge of physically exploding.

This PCMC insanity is killing me. So, when I read nonsense like this I take a deep breath and walk away and usually go for a walk and think about what I should type. Then I can post without my "colourful euphemisms."

If you read curse words in my posts you can be sure I am on the verge of becoming a human bomb just like you felt when you made that post.

We can't let these fools take us down this easily.

If the act of burning a kuran leads to terrorist murder that does not mean one act should lead to another. If I burn a bible then should some christians or jews rise up somewhere in the world as a mob and go kill someone? The liberals defense that the islamic hordes will automatically behave this way is indefensible and releases them from responsibility. If they're brainwashed and most are and they can't control themselves because they combine their stupid political religion in a scourge against all others should we give up our freedom for that. What about those imans whipping the mob into a frenzy? Does burning a book excuse their actions? Of course not! Such people are not able to live in a world where laws govern the most orthodox religious views. We all see what is happening in the world and islam is not ready to live amongst the rest of the world. I say burn a kuran. Burn five hundred. That does not release from responsibility those who murder and cry for all american to die! To give in to a mob mentality that cannot understand reason is to submit to an intolerant bully and of course the outcome of that is destruction. Does anyone really believe that islam will all of a sudden change its tune and stop their agenda of hate and violence if we all appease them? Of course they wont't because they would only find something else to whine about anyway. They will never be happy in the multicultural pluracracy of america or anywhere else in the world where freedom exists.

Excellent letter. I hope he does read it.

Here's my fan letter to Joe Klown:

Are you crazy? Trying to funny? Or just a complete putz?

Burning a book, a clump of paper is as murderous as the actions of a suicide bomber?

What the hell is wrong with people like you? Where do you draw the line on moral equivalency?

If I rape and kill you because I am outraged, insulted and angry at your reprehensible blogpost equating book burning with mass murder you are partially to blame? Will you so boldly claim that your blood is on YOUR hands and then damn yourself to deepest pits of your imaginary hell?

Or does this moral equivalency only apply to the burning of what some consider holy relics?

Does it apply to all who hold some superstitious paraphernalia near and dear to their hearts or only some?

Would the taliban be responsible for their own deaths if some angry Buddhists decide to saw their heads off for blowing up the Bamiyan Buddhas? Do you condemn them to your makebelieve hell and blame them for the psychopathic rage of the Buddhists?

Or are you implying in a round-about way that Muslims are incapable of controlling their basest urges and shouldn't be held accountable like we don't place blame on rabid dogs?

I just don't understand your twisted, sick logic and I hope I never do.

I hope you never have a loved one who is murdered and accused of being as accountable as their assailant for their own murder. Then again such a scenario would either prove your hypocrisy or force your cranium to be extracted from your anus.

Another point to this all is that if America governs its actions to appease Islam which is likely to take as an affront any criticism due to their sensitivity (Remember the liberal media warns they will react like a mob to certain actions in this country!)then how much more likely will those muslims living here amongst us who believe the same religion become a mob at the drop of a hat like they are doing in all over europe and in the united kingdom and to a lesser extent in the u.s. Isn't it the same religion of peace? Are not those moderate muslims who have suddenly become a mob and are now killing people in those foreign countries? Bin laden can't be everywhere. That same friendly face you see at the supermarket may be part of the next fort hood or the next mob breakout in your neighborhood. The only thing that might give them cause for second thoughts is if they think they might be punished. If you appease a mob it will only continue to act like a mob.

Oh ho ho! So burning a Koran means that someone has to be sentenced to hell for all eternity without exception, eh?

So is Joe Klein a closeted Muslim last time I checked?

Even in Christianity people can go to heave despite burning a bible if they're apologetic and make amends.

But nope! The Koran is THE holiest book of all time! THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS FOR BURNING A BOOK WHICH ADVOCATES PEDOPHILIA AND BEATING DISOBEDIENT WOMEN.

So holy is it that to defy warrants eternal torture! Thank you for enlightening us all!

http://www.time.com/time/columnist/klein/email.html

And here's Klein's e-mail. I'm sure he would just LOVE to hear from all his fans!

Sometimes "colourful euphemisms" are in place... Though your intelligent response was far more effective.

With "liberals" like that we would have never had free speech to begin with. They would have been to worried about upsetting the kings, and the aristocrats, and the church, and the secret police, and the business owners, and the crowd, and anyone else who used force to silence people.

Joe Klein comes across as even more deranged when you look at the larger quote. Here's the incoherent, insane nonsense from Joe Klein (my emphasis):

http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2011/04/01/afghan-massacre/#ixzz1IiKOWofF

"The first thing that you need to know about the massacre of 12 people that took place in Afghanistan today is that Mazar-e-Sharif is not a particularly radical town. It is not Pashtun, it is not Taliban. It is so quiet that NATO dispatched the near-pacifist Germans to keep the peace there. And so today's massacre--in protest of the odious Terry Jones' burning of a Koran on March 20--may be only a taste of what we're going to see when the real religious fanatics get ginned up.
Jones has a right to burn the Koran. And Rick Warren has a right--no, more than a right: a moral responsibly--to blast Jones for the nitwit bigot he is, and to rally mainstream evangelicals against this profoundly disgusting, and extremely dangerous, act. Warren tries to stay out of the political spotlight and he is to be admired for that. But this is different and, as David Petraeus warned last time Jones threatened this sort of unChristian behavior, not just the lives of unarmed UN and other aid workers, but also of American troops, are at stake.
But there should be no confusion about this: Jones's act was murderous as any suicide bomber's. If there is a hell, he's just guaranteed himself an afterlifetime membership."

Klein claims that

1. Jones has a right to burn a Koran.

2. Burning a Koran = murder.

Therefore Klein is arguing that Jones has a right to commit murder.

But I suspect that Klein is likely to deny that he argued that. (Even though he did just argue that).

When confronted with this absurdity of his own creation, Klein is likely, if he has any trace of sanity left, to deny that he really meant that Jones was guilty of murder in any real sense, and that he was talking only metaphorically. This explanation would be rather difficult to accept given what Klein actually wrote.

Klein goes even further, advocating that Jones be burnt and tortured for eternity in hell-fire. After making his crazed fire-breathing comment, I'm wondering what moral high ground Klein imagines he holds over Jones.

The answer, of course, is that Klein doesn't hold the moral high ground here at all. Jones' (and his associate's) burning of the Qur'an was a legitimate form of protest against the violence and hatred advocated in the book. Klein's moral equating of incinerating one's own copy of a book to the murder of innocent human beings, and his advocating that Jones be burned and tortured in hell for eternity, clearly shows that Jones has the moral high ground.

The more unhinged comments like this we see from the "Joe Kleins" of this world, the more Terry Jones begins to look like a saint by comparison.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC70dF9FNIQ&skipcontrinter=1

OMG OMG! THIS GUY MUST NOW BURN IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY! WHY COULDN'T HE JUST MARRY A 9-YEAR OLD AND RAPE AND MURDER HER INSTEAD, THEN EVERYTHING WOULD BE JUST FINE! QUICK, DON'T SHOW ANY MUSLIMS THIS VIDEO, THEY CAN'T CONTROL THEMSELVES AND WILL KILL ALL RANDOM WHITE PEOPLE AND IT'LL ALL BE THIS REDNECK'S FAULT!

My advice to Joe Klein is to meet the parents of the victims of the Beslan atrocity and tell THEM that the burning of a Koran by its owner is as bad as any atrocity committed by Muslims. He'd be lucky to escape with his life.

I burned a Qur'an this evening. I was reading Jihad Watch while I did it.

Tomorrow I'm going to burn two Qur'ans and draw a cartoon of Mohammend. And then I'm going to read Jihad Watch.

Watch the Middle East go crazy. It's all my fault. I just laugh. It's because I'm as evil as bin Laden. I don't care.

Unfortunately Ken Shepherd makes some (albeit much less egregious) foolish comment also in commenting on Klein's Talibanesque fatwa against Jones:

"Yes, Jones's actions were either thoughtless or callously disregarding of the potential deadly consequences to innocent third parties, particularly U.S. troops, international aid workers, and any and all Christians in the Muslim world who on top of persecution for their faith may now be considered guilty by association to Jones."

The same argument could be used against any expression that is less than flattering toward Islam. Indeed, given the mentality of the murderous Muslim Afghan men, it is entirely conceivable that a flattering comment about Islam could be interpreted as an insult, and deadly, murder, and mayhem could ensue. We are dealing with people who will engage in murder of innocent people based on mere rumors of allegations that a book has been burned, or flushed, or damaged, or whatever.

"That being said, Klein fails to hold morally culpable the murderous thugs who take vengeance in the name of Allah. Klein rightly considers Jones's provocative burning of the Koran as "un-Christian," but fails to slam as un-Islamic the act of killing people in the name of Allah."

I'm not sure what Shepherd or Klein mean by "un-Christian." But it is irrelevant. Burning a book is no excuse for murder, case closed.

And contrary to what Shepherd claims, killing people in the name of Allah is, as most readers of JW will recognize, Islamic. Islam has the death penalty for blasphemy, insulting a prophet, and even so much as disputing a single verse of the Qur'an. Islam has the death penalty for apostates, and for those who try to persuade Muslims to adopt other beliefs. Vigilante killings and assassinations of "blasphemers" are allowed. Collective punishment types of killings are also allowed as per 9:36. If one person in a group is allowed by others in the group to commit blasphemy against Islam, the group may be considered to be at war with Islam, and any adult male members of that group may be considered as harbis and therefore to be killed. These sorts of collective punishments against dhimmis, often in the form of pogroms throughout Islamic history, are well established.

Istanbul_Chick. I do not know why you call the Dr.T.Jones whacky. He has given some sensible reasons as to why the Koran should be burned. Here is what he says:
"We are not against Muslims. They are welcome to be in America and worship freely. We do, however, warn that Muslims are not welcome to be in America without submitting to our laws. We are also well aware of the pressures Muslim communities place on neighbors, institutions and businesses to become ‘Sharia compliant.’ Muslims often expect a society in which they live to bow to the various laws of Islam, and put pressure on that society not to question Islam’s teachings. We have seen this happen in Europe. We warn that this pressure is not welcome in America. Here is the full article giving ten reasons on why the Koran should be burned. Read it here.
http://www.doveworld.org/blog/2011/03/ten-reasons-to-judge-then-burn-the-koran-%E2%80%A6-again

Your's is a Coeur de Lyon, sir.

Another Perspective

electronic: digital and analog, similar but different
human: muslims and Westerners, similar but different

Sudden Jihad Syndrome (SJS) is the equivalent of going digital, that is, from a zero to a one (passive/predictable aggressive). This precludes muslims from being moderate, that is, some intermediate stage between zero and one. We in the West, by contrast, are analog, having a variance between zero and one where small fluctuations are meaningful. We push them for a digital to analog conversion, and they demand an analog to digital conversion from us. That represents a vast psychological and cultural difference between us and them that cannot be filtered away. And this makes the war between the West and Islam electronic, so to speak. There isn’t a capacitor large enough to oppose this change of voltage from zero to one which is characteristic of muslims and derives from Islam.

I support Pastor Jones's actions without qualification and without criticism. Bravo to you Gerald for bringing up that article. Jones speaks the truth and I refuse to nit pick at the edges of his core message.

Here I go muttering again but look at my name.
It is sometimes difficult to know where and how to start a conversation with a non-informed-on-Islam person. Might I suggest this as an opening statement?
Islam is digital and the West is analog.
You can then proceed with the Western concept of measured response, measured everything, etc. If the person is not a complete phlegmatic you've got a discussion/argument underway.

Would it help if we burned our copies of Time Magazine?
Joe Klein is an idiot.

LOL.. Good one Mac, that's exactly how it's done.

These responses are exaclty the reactions as I predicted IF a non-muslim flew a 747 into the Kabar rock during Hajj to sluahter 1000's of muslims at once.

CAIR and Mr.Hooper keep prattling on about how it is unfair to blame Islam and Muslims for 9/11/01 when it was a few "Misunderstanders" that acted alone outside of Quranic teachings.
OK....Mr.Hooper, lets pretend I'm a brain-dead/slack-jawed moron and you tell me that Islam=Peace. Then you claim that the 3000 civilians slaughtered by 19 Muslims on 9/11 should not be used to blame an entire group of people.
BUT....will you also be so strong and hold that view when a few Misunderstanders of Peace hijack those 747's to kill muslims in Mekkah during Hajj?????

How many non-muslims must be slaughtered by Muslims before CAIR allows people to opine to show a deep concern for a potential repeat of mass-murders by the Few Misunderstanders that the 1'500'000'000 muslim have neither he will nor brains to seek them out and purge from their Mosques as people with a Mental Illness.

Courrages: Thanks for the link to Joe Klein's comments page. I left this message for him:

Mr. Klein: I won't ask by what illogic you concluded that burning a Koran is as murderous an action as flying plane-loads of passengers into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Rather, I'll ask: Who put you up to making such a statement? CAIR? The ISNA? The MPAC? And if you had been in Afghanistan, would you have joined the mob that murdered the U.N. staff? Why don't you just quit your cushy job at TIME, and go to Yemen or Somalia and train as a jihadist? Then you could return to America and blow up some former fellow Americans. Or is your allegiance rather to Karl Marx?

It's not about moral equivalency. Why ? because it's not morally equivalent.

If you ask a jihadist he'd say killing his Christian neighbor is right, and not as morally dispicable than to hear that someone half way across the globe, burned a Koran.

What it is, is an Islamic supremacist tactic, which is designed to instill fear in non Muslims elevating one's standing within the Islamic community.

Public statements made by Lindsey Graham and Joe Klein are cowardly, gives creedance to, and justifys the murder of innocent people.

Americans need to get out of this deliberately designed, duplicitous religious maze, intended to smoke screen a political invasion of Islamic ideology on western society.

Vajonline.org

hmmmm, I'm wondering if we should have an "Everybody Burn the koran Day". Such a thing had never occured to me before but hmmmmm.

My e-mail to Joe Klein:
Joe,
You need to educate yourself on islam. Islam is an inherently violent religion. Islam's book 'koran' makes it mandatory on all its adherents to wage war on the infidels. Pastor Jones is in no way responsible for the murder of people who have been murdered by violent muslim mobs. Jones' burning of a book which belongs to him CANNOT be equated to murdering someone. Where is your moral compass? In USA burning any book is not yet a crime while murdering someone still is. A little discretionary judgement is advised in your articles.

And to think that as an undergrad I read books written by this ninny. Deplorable. Much too experienced to be spouting such nonsense.

These cowards have evaded the necessity to learn about the enemy and what the enemy's ideology -- Islam -- teaches, have instead left it to us to poison our lives with this psychotic swill they claim is a religion so that we might understand what we are facing. Now a snivelling little worm like Joe Klein, who knows precisely as much as he wants to know about Islam -- namely, nothing that might disturb his comfortable dhimmitude -- tries to equate the burning of some paper and cardboard with an act of murder committed in the name of what is written on that paper and cardboard.

This is why I've been against any condemnation of burning the Krapon as a protest. The act itself may be trivial or even childish; the statement it is intended to make is not. Ann Barnhardt has made that crystal clear with her videos.

If burning a copy of the Koran is morally equivalent to the 9/11 attack, then I guess that burning a copy of "Mein Jihad" (better known as "Mein Kampf") would be morally equivalent to Auschwitz.

Because, on Klein’s view, Afghanis have no self-control; they are like rabid dogs that Terry Jones unleashed; they are subhuman. I wonder whether Klein would take such a condescending view towards Christians if they rioted and killed dozens of people in reaction to Andres Serrano’s “Piss Christ.” Actually, I don’t.

Hey joe
I'm burning an effigy of you right now, you miserable contemptuous, pathetic, scumbag!

When I am done I will burn 7 copies of the koran on your corpse in memory of the decapitated 7 UN workers you just aided and abetted in murdering.

Afterwards I will honor Pastor Terry Jones by sending his congregation a modest check to purchase more qu'rans.

Joe Klein is an idiot! I have no words, in my vocabulary to express my disgust for what he said and thinks.

Food for thought.

Just to prove to you how asinine western society has become, ponder this. I will fill a 5 gallon spackle pail with urine, feces, pig blood and bacon grease. I will place “a book” into the slop, seal the cover and walk around announcing that I have a Koran in this vile mixture.

I predict that this very act will trigger riots worldwide, and that hundreds if not thousands of non-moslems will die. I would then be ARRESTED here in the good old P.C. U.S. of A. on charges similar to those for yelling fire in a movie theatre.

I will then remove the lid and pull out a Mickey Mouse book.

Do you see where we are going? We are our own worst enemy!! Sad, so sad. We are doomed.

K. Bond, you wouldn't even have to go that far. Just turn yourself into the police and "confess" that you left the library the Quran on the bottom of a stack of books you just checked out. That ought to do the trick.

Hello, R.K. I'm pleased to see you like my toast to the Qur'an.

I'm Dag (Mac)Walker, often available in Vancouver, Canada for coffee drinking at the local library if you have a chance.

Best regards,

Dag, son of (William) Walker.

The "left" usually organizes a mass "twitter" (or equivalent) and slams the company or person... The "right" ought to do the same. There should be a mass "twitter" sent to Time magazine condemning Joe Klein and his racist, hate-filled, Christianophobic, pro-islamic view.

All of the acts of Abraham are stored. All the acts of Ismael are stored. All the acts of Isaac are stored. All the acts of Esau are stored. All the acts of Jacob are stored. All the acts of Jesus are stored. All the acts of Muhammad are stored. Everything is reveled in time. It is the beginning of Islam's mass exile and, here we are.
michael

1)The civilized "even-handed" response for burning the Koran would be . . . burning a bible.
2)A strong response would be burning several bibles.
3)A psychopathic "utterly insane" response would be trying to harm (financially) the person that burned the Koran, by condeming his actions.
4) A response that is beyond psychopathic, beyond imagination, beyond words . . . is murder.
5) A response that is beyond beyond psychopathic, way beyond imagination, way beyond EVIL is killing somebody that had nothing to do with burning the Koran.
6) And a response that that murders many people, unrelated to burning the Koran . . . is soooo beyond insane, sooo beyond EVIL, and sooo NOT HUMAN.
That something drastic has to be done to eliminate this EVIL thinking from the face of this earth.

May be lunatic will describe him perfectly!!!

Lest you be accused of homophobia--and we all will, since blanket judgment is all the rage these days--"Piss Christ" [Lord forgive] is the work of Andres Serrano, rather than Robert Maplethorpe. They were both National Endowment for the Arts recipients.

The slippery slope.

1) Muslims kill for making a movie...
2) Muslims kill for drawing a cartoon....
3) Muslims kill for burning a book . . .
4) Muslims kill for insulting them....
5) Muslims stone/kill/lash women for being raped (honor killing).
6) Muslims kill for converting...
7) Muslims amputate for stealing food.
8) Muslims lash women for "not being covered".

Whats next?

9) Muslims kill for negative THOUGHTS!

Muslims kill! Muslims Kill! Muslims Kill!

I sent my e-mail of outrage to Joe Klein - thanks for the link to do so. I also wish the media dhimmi's would stop referring to the koran as the holy koran - what's holy about a book that advocates murder, slavery, misogny, pedophilia....... I could go on forever.

Well, after reading this I had to go to the Time site and register so I could comment on Klein's rant.

To say burning a book is the same as murdering thousands of people is insane. If we burned a koran every day there would never be justification for the barbaric acts of these murderers.

People like Klein fall into the hands of muslim extremest. He is one of their useful idiots.

I doubt he will ever realize just how foolish he is. Time should fire him and find someone with a working brain to write these stories.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

Um, did anyone else who emailed get a reply from this joker? He claims to be over in Egypt happily chatting with all the wonderful young people yearning for freedom and democracy (his characterization, not mine) and just can't imagine what we're worried about. (Personally, I think he's at the hotel bar with his laptop having a nice time replying to all his email. He seems to have a lot of time on his hands for someone who is supposed to be a crack reporter, and he's whining about how unjust people are being to him about his comments.) He recycles all the stock arguments -- Christians killed more people than Muslims, most Muslims are nice freedom-loving people, Egyptians admire our Founding Fathers, yadda yadda -- which is rather scary considering that you'd expect a better grip on reality from even a libtard "journalist" at this level.

Traeh, that's a really excellent response, much better than mine. Maybe he thought I sounded like an easy target!

The Lord severs Islam, It's elders and nobles are cast down. Their great prophet has brought them falsehoods. Those having been led by Muhammad are to be engulfed. Islam's young men will not be spared. Over powered by their Qkuran they stagger. Staggering through the centuries on the visions of Muhammad, sura's covered with vomit.
Muhammad pressed between two great religions began his fornicating with the passed. Sura's from the tents of Ishmeal for the Qkuranites.

Thanks for the invite Mac... one of these days I'll make it happen. Sitting in a Vancouver library, having a few cups of Joe, telling jokes about Islam and brainstorming about counter-jihad tactics... it sounds like a perfect afternoon.

Maybe some pints and a good bar-fight in the evening?

Respectfully,

Roderick MacUalraig

We must also don our kilts.

The US has its founding fathers. Islam has its fondling father and man, do his male adherents follow his example.

Joe Klein is an idiot.

"Islam has its fondling father..."

Good one.

What the murderous response to Pastor Jones' Qu'ran bbq is really is an attempt to get us to censor ourselves out of fear of Muslim response, or to censor *each other* either out of fear or political correctness.

In any case, to get us to institute Shari'ah, where no one—*especially Infidels*—are allowed to criticize the Qu'ran, the "Prophet" Muhammed, or any aspect of Islam.

And with morons like Joe Klein, Bill O'Reilly, and—God help us—our current "commander in chief", it seems to be working pretty well.

Here's more idiocy from Time Magazine, in regard to Jones' threatened Qu'ran burning. From last September:

"How Should America Handle Extreme Speech?"

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2019621,00.html

Writer Nancy Gibbs says this:

Speech intended to incite violence is not protected. But where's the line between intention and mere expectation? And under what circumstances would we accept a President's ordering federal Marshals into a church to prevent a pastor from lighting a fuse, whether the actual explosion occurred around the block or around the world?
.............................

This is *astonishing*. That a "journalist" would advocate—and that is basically what she is doing here—the president using the power of the federal government to prevent free speech by an American citizen in order to appease murderous thugs half-way around the world is appalling beyond belief.

Also—just as fellow Time staffer Joe Klein would do six months later—Gibbs is here associating Jones' burning a Qu'ran with murderous violence perpetrated by others.

She is conflating genuine inciting of violence—that is, someone actually calling for others to harm people—with simply doing something that others may use as an excuse for violence.

These are—both legally and morally—entirely different matters.

It is essentially given the moral reins to the *least moral actors*. Anyone, anywhere on the face of the earth, can simply threaten to harm people if others do not obey their wishes—*and* be considered morally exempt.

This presents a vision of the world where everyone is held hostage to the desires of the most brutal savages—in this case, to Islam. It is, essentially, a *vision of hell*.

T. Jones is out to shock the followers of islam awake. He is trying to warn them, they follow hate, they follow death, and the burning book is a warning.

It is not hate he has for these mislead souls, but a chance to be pulled from the darkness, and it requires a jolt. The real terror they see is from themselves, and they have the chance to see the fruit that comes from the hand of islam.

He is warning them, no book ever burned with more meaning.
