Marxism is obviously a different enough belief system to qualify as a religion all on its own - sans the religious symbology of deities, afterlife, rituals, et al. It would be wildly inaccurate to describe someone who is a Marxist as a Jew, Christian, Hindu, Shinto, Rastafarian or even Muslim.
Also, your above statement that if one is an apostate, one is still a Muslim under Islamic law seems to suggest that even apostates cannot be trusted. Given the Muslim practice of taquiyya, I don't fault you for that - since a lot of Muslims may pretend to apostatize, it makes it necessary to have a certain degree of suspicion of even genuine apostates. Having said that though, your statement seems to suggest that had someone like an Ali Sina been running things, he'd not be getting your support b'cos he too was born a Muslim as per Islamic law. Yet all of us know he'd be staunchly pro-Israel, anti-Arab, anti-Iranian(!!!), anti-Pak and better than Christian presidents like Bush or Clinton, or Jewish wannabe vice-presidents like Joe Lieberman.
I think that one observation RS made of him in one of those interviews is more convincing - that had Obama been a Muslim, his policies wouldn't be any different than what it is now, assuming that he's genuine when he says he's not a Muslim.
In Eastern countries, one's religion is defined by one's ancestry, which is the definition you seem to be using above. In the US, it seems to be whatever one states it to be, and athiests and agnostics don't count in adherents of any particular religion: I don't know how it is in Israel. I do think it makes more sense not to count athiests at least as adherents of their parents' religions, since it seems to inflate the numbers for those religions. As far as Muslims go, however, the fact that they have natural allies in West-hating Leftists makes it somewhat irrelevant as to whether a Muslim Marxist has more loyalty to Mohammed or to Marx. Suffice it to say that they count as enemies.

I think you missed my point. I'm not saying anything of the sort. What I am saying is that from "Islam's point of view," one once you are a Muslim, you cannot leave Islam. It is different in Judaism. A Jew can convert to Christianity for example. He or she is an "apostate," but he or she can return. A Jew can be an atheist and still be a Jew. A Jew can be a Marxist and still be a Jew, albeit in my mind not a good Jew. Because Neal Boortz and others believe Obama's god is government, this in and of itself does not make him a non-Muslim. What is transpiring in the Middle East and North Africa; what is transpiring in Obama's Justice Department, I believe, is a reflection of Obama and his identity.
If living in America is so stressful for them they should leave the way they came. Noone will miss them at all. Maybe they can go to Nigeria and help the Jihad, I mean election contest there. Or to Libya they need some good help there. Or to Turkey less stressful and in need of more warm bodies to promote sharia, Or to Iran alway room for a few more.

I think what's going on here, phoenix, is that while the Constitution in Article VI maintains that it is the "supreme Law of the Land," this doesn't necessarily mean that other legal reasonings and systems can't be considered. If provisions of such are not in conflict with the Constitution then they don't violate it. Even Sharia has some provisions to it that don't contradict the Constitution or laws made "in Pursuance thereof."
Then, when you bring in the First Amendment and the religious freedom aspect of it, one could possibly argue that making all of Sharia illegal and unconstitutional is prejudicial to Islam, a protected religion under the First. See how all this can slip into our society while INVOKING, not CONTRADICTING, the Constitution? It's clever and nefarious and demonstrative again of how the wording of a statute is so very important. As I've mentioned before here at JW, I wouldn't use the word "Sharia" in legislation. I have argued for banning specific, barbaric and obnoxious aspects of Sharia like amputation for theft, death for apostasy and stoning of an adulterer. Likewise the President, the U.S. Attorney General, all U.S. Attorneys (including Callahan), all members of Congress, and--obviously--U.S. Supreme Court Justices.
Clearly, while Census Enumerators and mailmen take that oath seriously--and are held to it--the current president, attorney general, their U.S. attorneys, many Senators and Representatives, and four of the current Supreme Court Justices (most conspicuously Obama's two appointees) don't, and aren't.
The Constitution requires (among other things) that the President "take care that the laws of the United States be faithfully executed." That is, after all, his primary responsibility. Not fundraising, bashing his domestic critics, or pandering to privileged interest groups.

Have read "The Death Of Common Sense" by Howard, phoenix, and it is right on target. Being a lawyer myself, I know only too well how arid and abstruse many lawyers can be (just plain damn annoying and uppity too). In fact, I ended up being a college history professor instead of a practicing attorney because I couldn't abide most of my fellow lawyers. Also turned to history because about 90% of the time the practice of law is extremely tedious (TV dramas about lawyers and the "exciting" lives they lead are so full of crap).
Respecting loopholes, that's a major feature of the law and so is trying to use the law or constitutions to get what the law or constitutions never intended in the first place. As an example, look at what the Massachusetts State Supreme Court decided several years ago, to wit, that in the 1780 state constitution, the oldest of all fifty state constitutions, could be found a justification for gay marriage. If you can find a right to gay marriage in an 18th century legal document, you can find anything you want in any law or constitution. All of which points to the fact that the law or a constitution is whatever a court says it is. Welcome to the law.
In the fight against Islamic supremacist designs we're going to have to be deuce clever because many in the law (e.g., ACLU) will use the law to strengthen the believers of a warped and liberty-crushing religion which would destroy the very laws and national constitution Americans operate under if only it gets the chance. Treacherous times, no?

i just got home from the country. i love the commonsense and honesty of the folks there, with whom i identify much more that with some of the staff at the university, where i used to teach in the undergraduate clinic.
i think that trying to bamboozle an honest person with a 'law' that will strip him/her of the freedoms they used to enjoy...will quickly elicit, what in this neck of the canadian woods will be called "wo, wo, wo! tabarnak!"
i.e. 'up till here and no more.'
a person KNOWS when something stinks no matter how well it would be sanitized and presented as a rose.
i do believe that a time will come (and at the rate we are going, this may be sooner rather than later)when the population at large will reach a state of "i've had it!"

The way I see Americans eventually taking things into their own hands will be through the election process whereby only strict constructionist judges will be appointed to the courts because those doing the appointing will be elected by folks who have finally had enough of PC/MC nonsense. Respecting judges still lingering on the bench who are gooey, kissy-face, kumbaya types they will either gradually retire, change their mind or even be impeached (as Gerald Ford observed, an impeachable offense is anything the Congress says it is). Still a long way to go though and much unnecessary kowtowing to Muslims will continue for the time being but the tide has already begun to turn. That's why so many states are passing anti-Sharia legislation. My best to you and yours, phoenix.

"We can and must do better than just admire the likes of Geert Wilders and (recently in the US) Ann Barnhardt, we must prepare ourselves to follow their lead and become liberators ourselves. They can show us the way, but it is us who must travel that road, the path through (civil) war, most probably, but ultimately towards freedom."
