Denmark: Islamic expert Lars Hedegaard found guilty of "hate speech" for offending Muslims

The lights are going out all over Europe. Meanwhile, in America, Hamas-linked CAIR is undertaking a full-court press and using every lie and smear in its ample arsenal to intimidate every organization, institution, and venue that dares to feature a counter-jihadist. Free people must fight back against this Islamic supremacist assault on the freedom of speech, in both Europe and America.

A Danish court has found a leading Islamic expert guilty of racism for his comments about Muslims, the latest ruling in an ongoing battle between free speech and Islam in Europe.
Lars Hedegaard was charged with racism under Denmark's hate speech law after telling someone at a gathering about the problem of rape committed against Muslim girls by male relatives.

"Of course I made clear that I was not talking about every Muslim man in the country or in the world. By the way, I was not talking specifically about conditions in Denmark," Hedegaard explained.

Hedegaard said it's a fact that can be backed up by hard evidence. But in Denmark, that doesn't matter.

Under Denmark's hate speech law, it doesn't matter if what you said was true. It doesn't matter if it is factual - if it offends someone, you could be charged....

It is with great sadness I have to report that Denmark’s reputation as a haven of free speech and a bastion of resistance to sharia encroachment is irreparably tarnished. Denmark is my country and I used to be proud of it.

On May 3 the Eastern Superior Court in Copenhagen convicted me of hate speech under Denmark’s infamous Article 266 b of the penal code – a rubber provision that may be stretched to serve any political purpose dear to the hearts of the ruling elites.

My crime is to have called attention to the horrific conditions of Muslim women and for my audacity the court has now enabled my detractors to label me a racist.

Muslims can say whatever they want with impunity. Just a few weeks ago Denmark opened its gates to the hate-spewing preacher Bilal Philips, known for his advocacy of wife-beating and the killing of homosexuals. He was provided a platform in Copenhagen and nobody thought of dragging him into court.

Our authorities and their allies among the pc elites have chosen sides in the struggle between the forces of freedom and the forces of darkness and so opted for the oppressors of their own people and against those deserving of their protection.

The real victims of this despicable case are freedom of speech and the tens of thousands of girls and women – Muslim as well as non-Muslim – whose plight may no longer be mentioned in my country for fear of legal prosecution and public denigration.

We cannot permit this outcome to stand. I have therefore decided to appeal my conviction to the Supreme Court and – if that is denied – to the European Court of Human Rights.

This is a fight for liberty against tyranny. It will be long and hard but losing is no option.

No it's not! thanks to people like Kurt Westergaard and Lars Hedegaard. Looks like the great spirit of a legendary Holger Danske is really stirring!
(During the German occupation of Denmark in 1940-45 one of the principal partisan organizations was named after Holger Danske.)
We Europeans grew up on Hans Christian Andersen's stories. I'm sure these folks won't give up so easily. Go-go Denmark!

This is so outrageous. So threathening to freedoms in Democratic countries. But it may trigger many, many copycats in defiance, and massive civic disobedience if this continues or is repeated once too much.

Or, more and more people, helped by enough able lawyers too, like Moskowicz, Wilders' lawyer, will flood the courts with complaints against Islamic Holy texts. And if these are thrown out, then with complaints about all the abundant terrible hate-speech the Freedom Party can find around the world spoken by Muslims.

Because it is highly unfair that in Denmark, or in another single democratic state one side is prohibited to insult and globally the other side can spout insults unhindered. The next argument could well be that state-boundaries in todays world no longer count for prohibiting "hate-speech" towards certain groups.

Americans and Jews and other "groups, communities" can now also consider to demand protection from national courts against global hate-speech. Because double standards simply must occur in the "global village" if myopic judges only try to judge nationwide, and not every nation does the same. Not with this much internet and English globally and not with all the connections (TV, media, telephone, travel) we know Muslims in Democratic states have with their countries of origine.

You guys ( Danes ) had no trouble going underground and killing your enemies as freedom fighters in WW2. Start pulling these clowns into dark alleys. Do it-don't get caught and call yourselves whatever the danish words are for " sneaky jihad ". Better yet concentrate on the judges after a few of them go down they might just get on the road to Damascus both literally and figuratively.

Islam corrupts everything. It is one of the most corrupting forces in mankind's history (damn parasitic too). Most particularly, Islam is an enemy to its very core to liberty. Aiding this corruption and antipathy to liberty is the modern Western Left which is self-hating, deeply ignorant of the lessons which history teaches, abusive of the very liberty it invokes regularly because such distorted use guarantees the end of liberty, and so despises the Western tradition of balancing liberty with the instinct for self-preservation that it is prepared to implode Western societies by an alliance with a religion that's licking its chops at the prospect of finally doing in Western Civilization.

We don't just live in dark times. We live in stupid times. The darkness is courtesy of Islam. The stupidity is courtesy of the Modern Left.

This is all the more reason why Americans should do all they can to find out who's pushing for "hate speech" laws and either prevent them from holding office, impeach them for violating their oaths to defend the Constitution, and remove them. Or, perhaps, find any case in which someone is charged with "hate speech", and bombard the court with Amicus Curiae briefs based on the First Amendment.

Giving value to the positive aspects of Islam

The previous Pope, John Paul II tried to value the positive aspects of Islam, as we must do in every encounter with each other. The Muslim is first and foremost a believer, who placed the transcendence of God first in his life, and who from this point prays. The Muslim is a person who has the ethical principles that in more than one point are connected to those of Christians. He is placed in the line of Abraham and recognize a special place for Jesus and Mary.

This is why John Paul II agrees on some points with Muslims, for example on the fight against abortion, which has become virtually free in the West.

Shakespeare go it right - "something is rotten in Denmark". I'm very disappointed in the Dane's responsible for this PC as the Danish people are generally quite sensible (though wild as a marsh hare many of them)! The Muslims of course have only "themselves" to blame for our contempt and loathing of their (false) "religion of peace".

That "special place" you refer to is not "special", at all.

You might be interested to know that in every Bukhari annotated Koran I've looked at, Jesus WAS NOT CRUCIFIED.

The standard obfuscation states that it was an imposter, not Jesus, who was crucified that afternoon.
