More than 50,000 people on Saturday attended a joint rally held by the Muslim Brotherhood group and Salafis in Haram district, Giza.The organizers chanted slogans stating that the Brotherhood and the Salafis are one, and that both seek to apply the Islamic Sharia.
“The United Arab States and the United Islamic States are inevitably coming,” said prominent Salafi preacher Safwat Hegazy at the rally. “And soon we will have one caliph to rule us all.”
Hegazy condemned those who burnt the church in Imbaba on Saturday. “They are not Salafis or Brothers, nor are they Egyptians,” he said. “They are the enemy that incites sectarian strife.”
Salafi preacher Mohamed Hassan, for his part, called on all Islamic groups to reassure Muslims and Christians alike. “Egypt does not belong to the Muslims alone,” he said. “And Copts are protected by Islam. They need not resort to the United States for that.”

You ask a good question, No Fear. Let's see now. Christians and Jews get a few crumbs from Muslims as long as they are obedient dhimmis and feel "subdued." This is People of the Book rubbish. In effect, Christians and Jews have three choices: convert to Islam, remain obedient dhimmis or accept death.
As for atheists and polytheists, they get two choices: convert to Islam or death. Of course, all this is complicated by the fact that, for Muslims, Christians are already polytheists because they believe in the Trinity and Jews have to watch hiding behind a certain tree when the world comes to an end, blah, blah, blah. Of course, at such time one of the threee choices for Christians, being a submissive kuffaar, will no longer be an option and they either have to convert to Islam or be thrown into Hell by Jesus for deifying Him.

Is the Egyptian, former spokesman for CAIR-Tampa, Ahmed Bedier related to the VP of "PayPal" Osama Bedier? It would be interesting to find out. Ahmed was interviewed a month or so ago on radio, during the height of the Egyptian "revolution," and said that what was happening is a "good thing" for the Egyptian people. The idea that these people will ever willingly unite enough to allow for one ruler is ridiculous fantasy.
The bloodbath that will ensue over who gets to be that one single ruler is going to be truelly horrific. The assassinations and ethnic cleansing we have seen up to now will be nothing compared to what is on the way.
Does anyone think Iran would allow any non Iranian to claim that post? Would the Muslim Brotherhood allow anyone not sympathetic to them that post? Would Saudi Arabia allow it to a non Saudi? Will the sunnis allow a shia or the shia a sunni?

The idea of muslims/arabs being the orcs is not quite accurate or fair. Tolkien meant the orcs to be a representation of the destruction of man's humanity thru an industrialized process. Specifically the process of turning a free man into a factory worker or a soldier.
The Orcs had had their humanity crushed out of them in order to make them "modern" soldiers. The seeds that turn someone into a jihadist were put there by islam (that prayer they have to repeat 85 times a day is intentional brain washing) but it's the agitators and seducers that seek out the suseptible and use specific processes and techniques to turn them into heartless killers.
I'm not dissing our soldiers as todays process of turning a man into a soldier is far different from what Tolkein went thru in WW I and creates a completely different sort of soldier.
Muslims in general are most certainly not orcs. But the Jihadists, agitators and propogandists of all ilks absolutely are.

Well, the goal of the global jihad has always been Sharia for all. The U.S. is crippled by polarized political parties and ignorance. The U.S. is also distracted and weakened by Muslim infighting for power, power in establishing little Muslim kingdoms in anticipation of loosely uniting under their political Mahdi. They are now declaring their intention to have one leader to unite all Muslim leaders. They will also call all Muslims (masses) to enforce Sharia, anticipating and motivated by the plunder of the West and the non-Muslims in their midst. The question is, will non-Muslims keep enabling their own conquest?
I'm not so sure that there *isn't* an analogy between the Orcs and the Mohammedan hordes.

Tolkien, deeply and devoutly Catholic, steeped in the literature and history of early Europe (from the 5th through 12th centuries) *must* have been well aware of western Christendom's (and Eastern Christendom's) desperate neverending 1400 year struggle of self-defence against the Jihad.

When I first read 'The Lord of the Rings' I was only 14 or 15 and I didn't know the things I know now about European history and the Jihad (I knew *something*, but no details, and no precision). So I didn't see the analogy back then.
But I know that the first time I read about the siege of Vienna by the Turkish Muslim hordes in 1683, and the great ride of Jan Sobieski of Poland and his thousands of winged Hussars to break that siege and rescue Vienna - and all of western Europe - from the Jihad, cold chills went down my spine and I thought: Aha! NOW at last I know where Tolkien got the idea for the Ride of the Rohirrim.
And...when I first read Lord of the Rings, all the parts that discuss the Orcs, and Mordor, I remember thinking: this is impossible. But now I know about the Ummah and its ways, I am not so disbelieving; Tolkien's Mordor resembles dar al Islam all too closely (btw - everything I am saying is derived NOT from watching Jackson's film version, but from a deep familiarity with the original books).
The main difference between Tolkien's fictional epic and the historic reality is that whereas Tolkien's Orcs, though descended from Elves, were trapped *as* Orcs - they had become, so to speak, a different, infernal species and could never turn back into Elves - it *is* possible for Muslims to shake off their cult programming and rejoin the rest of us as free human beings. Difficult - indeed, very difficult - but not wholly impossible.
