SAN DIEGO -- A terrorist organization whose home base is in the Middle East has established another home base across the border in Mexico."They are recognized by many experts as the 'A' team of Muslim terrorist organizations," a former U.S. intelligence agent told 10News.
The former agent, referring to Shi'a Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah, added, "They certainly have had successes in big-ticket bombings."
Some of the group's bombings include the U.S. embassy in Beirut and Israeli embassy in Argentina.
However, the group is now active much closer to San Diego.
"We are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico," the agent told 10News.
Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. policy has focused on al-Qaida and its offshoots.
"They are more shooters than thinkers … it's a lot of muscles, courage, desire but not a lot of training," the agent said, referring to al-Qaida.
Hezbollah, he said, is far more advanced.
"Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans," he said. "I consider Hezbollah much more dangerous in that sense because of strategic thinking; they think more long-term."
Hezbolah has operated in South America for decades and then Central America, along with their sometime rival, sometime ally Hamas.
Now, the group is blending into Shi'a Muslim communities in Mexico, including Tijuana. Other pockets along the U.S.-Mexico border region remain largely unidentified as U.S. intelligence agencies are focused on the drug trade.
"They have had clandestine training in how to live in foreign hostile territories," the agent said. [...]

According to the agent, the organization sees the U.S. as their "cash cow," with illegal drug and immigration operations. Many senior Hezbollah leaders are wealthy businessmen, the agent said.
"The money they are sending back to Lebanon is too important right now to jeopardize those operations," he said.
The agent said the real concern is the group's long-term goal of radicalizing Muslim communities.
"They're focusing on developing … infiltrating communities within North America," the agent told 10News.

El Salvador's Communist party was once led by a Lebanese immigrant. And Argentina was ruled by a man of Syrian descent. Arabs are all over Latin America, although most are Marianite Christians.
ALL of Mr Spencer's books - but especially 'The Truth About Muhammad', and 'Stealth Jihad' - need to be translated into Spanish, ASAP, for distribution in Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina. If it can't be done officially then it will have to be done as samizdat.
And if the Catholics and Episcopalians and Evangelicals had any sense, they would get Dr Mark Durie's two books 'Revelation: Do We Worship the Same God? Jesus, God, Holy Spirit in Christianity and Islam', and "The Third Choice: Islam, Dhimmitude and Freedom", which are short, sharp, lucid and scholarly, need to be translated into Spanish also, and try to get a copy placed in every parish church and municipal library in every Spanish-speaking country in the Caribbean and Latin America. Not to mention in every CAtholic parish church and parochial school with a large Spanish population, in the USA itself...

The Mexican government needs to be toppled, and replaced w/ a Pentagon installed viceroy, like Jay Garner. That will solve both this problem, as well as the larger problem of Mexican presidents viewing a large portion of US territory as Aztlan, and expecting that the US tolerate Mexican citizens who illegally cross the border, even though Mexico does nothing like it to citizens of Honduras, Guatemala and its other Central American neighbors. Also take on the drug cartels there. Occupy Mexico for 10 years, overhaul it and flush things out, and then leave, making it clear to them that future infiltration and terror hosting activities will be considered an act of war.
Of course, I don't expect either the GOP or the Dems to implement any of this.

Furthermore, if you think we have an open border with Mexico now, just wait until we have thousands of tons of supplies and thousands of soldiers, suppliers and administrators going back and forth every day.

The proper response to Hizballah in Mexico is to strengthen the borders, improve our intelligence, carry out occasional strategic hits ON THE GROUND, not with drones, and yes, create a pathway to citizenship for Mexican nationals currently in the US who have worked, avoided welfare, and who have not had a criminal record.
You can tolerate hostile neighbors as long as you maintain strong border controls and a military force able to respond to acts of war.
Incidentally, it is time to stop draining our military capabilities in useless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and apply our defense resources to the areas that are really part of US vital interests.
This is not new, but hardly mentioned in the media. Hizballah has been training people in Venezuela, and some have been issued Venezuelan passports without even being able to speak English or Spanish (a bank in Miami recently failed to report one such individual who came in because his Venezuelan issued credit card was not working; spoke neither language but his passport stated he was born in Venezuela). Since this border is porous and a source of illegal entry in the US, in a sense we are wide open for a disaster!
When will we recognize that factions of the global jihad merely have different roles? There are many factions at work to take down the U.S. and conquer it for Islam. There is Saudi Arabia as the political arm. There is the Iranian President as the provocative martyr. There is the Hezbollah alliance with the drug cartell to "smack down" the U.S. (etc., etc., etc.) They all have their "glorified" (under Islam) areas of jihad. And, they are only following Muhammad's example.
