Apparently Abu Bakar Bashir believes that Allah made a mistake: he "showered the infidels, the zionists, the Americans, the Europeans and their allies with wealth, technology and strong-arm equipment." Now he prays that Allah rectify that mistake by "lock[ing] dead their heart, because they are faithless and therefore deserve bitter torture from you." Bashir already visited some bitter torture upon the Infidels himself by means of the Bali bombing, but that doesn't seem to have been enough for him.

JAKARTA, May 25 (Reuters) - Indonesian Islamist cleric Abu Bakar Bashir used his final defence against charges of funding a militant group on Wednesday to denounce the United States for trying to stop Islamic preaching in the world's most populous Muslim nation.Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence for the frail Bashir, 72, who delivered a piercing speech accusing the government of being under U.S. influence.
Bashir does not command widespread support in Indonesia, but the speech could inflame hardcore Islamists who have already vowed reprisal attacks following the U.S. killing of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.
Prosecutors said Bashir raised at least 350 million rupiah ($41,000) from supporters and funnelled some to a militant training camp discovered last year in a remote mountainous part of Aceh, a province on the northern tip of Sumatra island that observes sharia law.
"Prosecutors accused me of being behind Aceh and being its biggest financier -- it is an accusation and slander, with the interests of the pharaoh U.S. for me to be diminished from Indonesian society," Bashir told the South Jakarta court.
"Because my preaching is considered dangerous, and with this lifetime of jail, the dream of the pharaoh U.S. and its allies will come true."
Copies of the 55-minute speech were being sold at the court for 20,000 rupiah (2.30), with a form attached to join Bashir's group, Jema'ah Ansharut Tauhid, which has formally renounced violence but whose members have been involved in recent attacks including a suicide bombing at a police mosque on Java island.
Days prior to the trial, his followers invited people with text messages to attend "Bashir's Islamic lecture" in court. Hundreds of men in skull caps and women in burqas arrived,
filling the public gallery and spilling into the court car park to watch it on television.With fists in the air, they shouted "Allahu akbar," or "God is greatest". [...]
Police say militants at the Aceh camp in Sumatra were hatching several plots including an attack on President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and hoped to turn Indonesia into an Islamic state.
As well as being the spiritual leader of JAT, Bashir was considered the spiritual leader of the outlawed and now-defunct Jemaah Islamiah, which police have blamed for several bombings including the country's worst ever militant attack, the 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 people.
Bashir ended his speech with a prayer to crush those he considered enemies of Indonesian Muslims.

All joking aside, Bashir did not likely intend to suggest that Allah made a mistake. As the Quran indicates, Allah sometimes tests the believers by empowering the disbelievers and giving them free rein (and reign). (The bottom line is that nothing, whether good or evil, can happen without Allah's permission). Bashir's reference to "pharaoh"--basically any corrupt un-Islamic ruler or power who "oppresses" Muslims--fits with this idea of Allah imposing some unfavorable conditions on Muslims in order to test their faith and obedience.
I think he is speaking for himself and not 'man' in general, but it could be looked at as a form of shirk...It's also a violation of sharia, so he is double guilty...At any rate he will have to answer to Allah for his reckless remarks...And you know how cranky Allah gets before lunch...

Abu Bakar Bashir has a long history of blaming the West. Supposedly, both the Bali bombings and 9/11 were pulled off by the United States—in concert with hated Australia in Bali.
All this is done to make Islam look bad and cause trouble for Jihadists. At the same time, he is a great admirer of Osama bin Laden, and runs his own "extremist" group.
In other words, if an act of terrorism simply causes the Infidels to cower and make concessions, then it is a glorious act of Jihad.
If it causes any problems for Jihadists, though—such as attention from the authorities—then it is something concocted by the infidels and "Zionists" to cause trouble for Muslims.

That was exactly my thinking LM as I read the article and the subsequent posts. If they would examine their own writings they would drive themselves crazy in the head. Wait a min--They ARE crazy in the head! If "ALLAH" created the whole universe and all the people to amuse hissef by having half of his creation kill and enslave the other half, what would that make him? If he created men (his creation) to brutally enslave the other half who are women (also his creation) would that not make hissef eeeeevil in his deevine nature? Hummm, wouldnt it? Typically, Christians, Jews, Western secularists and other decent people would welcome a change in the attitude of their enemies with open arms. Oh, sure—they might be wary at first—but if they came to believe their enemy was sincere, they would be very happy.
But devout Muslims don't want to see a change of heart—instead, they relish the prospect of "bitter torture"...
