Iraq: Muslims abduct, torture, and behead Christian

"Iraqi Christians have been living in a state of high tension since the killing of Osama Bin Laden, fearing possible revenge by local Muslim extremists." This is the real "backlash," as opposed to the endless media handwringing in the West over a supposed backlash against Muslims that never actually materializes. "Kirkuk: young Christian abducted, tortured and beheaded," from Asia News, May 16 (thanks to C. Cantoni):

Kirkuk (AsiaNews) – An Iraqi Christian man was abducted, tortured and then beheaded. The victim was from Kirkuk, northern Iraq. Police found his body this morning. He had been kidnapped three days ago and the family had received a ransom request. However, negotiations for his release did not work out and so he was brutally murdered. For the archbishop of Kirkuk, his death is an “inhuman act” because it goes “against every human and religious principle”. Iraqi Christians have been living in a state of high tension since the killing of Osama Bin Laden, fearing possible revenge by local Muslim extremists.

Ashur Yacob Issa was 29 years old and had three children, a source in Kirkuk told AsiaNews. He was abducted three days ago for ransom. His kidnappers wanted US$ 100,000 to release him. However, negotiations with his family “did not work out”, a local Christian said.

The incident came to a terrible end this morning, when police found the young man’s body, by the side of a bridge. The body showed “horrific marks of torture”, the source said. The head had been cut off and the eyes gauged out of their socket.

The crime sent a shockwave through the city, especially in its Christian community. although the victim was kidnapped in order to get a large sum of money, the death of Osama Bin Laden by the US on 2 May has raised the tension level in the Christian community. Since then in fact, it has been living in fear of possible reprisals by Muslim extremists....

That's funny. I hadn't realized that the Christians of Kirkuk killed bin Laden.

According to the word of the lunatic sadist Allah

8:12 When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads (beheading with a knife/sword/axe) and strike off every fingertip of them. (finger amputating)

Muslim barbarians - time for the West to wake up!!!!

We worry too much. The President will give a speech soon to remind us of the glorious contributions Islam has made and all our troubles will disappear. You see, we are the ones that misunderstand Islam. It is so obvious that it is a religion of peace and is itself a victim of those that would hijack it for their own purposes. He may even address these murders by saying something like "These sad incidents" or "The few extremists" this will lead into him reminding you that 1.5 billion Muslims love peace. He won't, I'll bet, tell you that the peace they believe in is between each other and not for non-Muslims.

Truly, if the Infidels stir up sedition, if the agitators in the City do not desist, We shall urge you Moslems to go against them and set you over them. Then they will not be able to stay as your neighbors for any length of time. They shall have a curse on them. Whenever Infidels are found, they shall be seized and slain without mercy -- a fierce slaughter -- murdered, a horrible murdering.

So let's go easy on the Moslems who did this to poor Ashur Issa. They were only following the command of their religion, and certainly they enjoy religious freedom just like the Christian they hacked up. Just like Mr. Issa.

They were only expressing themselves, and their esteem of Osama.

Just another christian killed, nothing to see here... maybe if the media would draw the attention that these murders deserve, we christians in the west would stand together and say enough is enough! Every christian in the west should be deeply concerned about the violence our fellow beleivers are suffering at the hands of muslims around the world. Thanks Robert for bringing these crimes to our attention because no one else seems to care.
Please come quickly Lord Jesus!

And what was it before this? It was some Coptic women in Egypt who refused to convert to Islam, even after they had been kidnapped, or it was that they nominally share the religion of the "Crusader occupiers", or—as here—that they weren't quick enough in ponying up that $100,000 ransom.

I'm not sure this was even a serious ransom demand—the average annual income for an Iraqi citizen is just $2210. It would take the average Iraqi *forty-five years* to raise this kind of money, even if they had no living expenses.

It is likely that they always meant to kill poor Ashur Issa, but wanted to see his family wracked with guilt over not being able to raise enough money for his ransom, as well.

God, I hate Islam.

A Christian martyr in the true sense, not sick, evil and twisted like what muslimes do in the name of their demon "allah".

Kirkuk is a city with a large Kurdish population, as well as large Sunni Arab population. Both groups are overwhelmingly Sunni Muslims; the question is, which one did the deed?
