Faisalabad (AsiaNews) – Christian tombs were recently desecrated and a young Christian woman was gang-raped for an entire night. In both cases, police refused to file a First Information Report, allowing the culprits to escape justice. These are examples of the ordinary violence visited upon Pakistan’s Christian minority. Whether it involves Christian-owned land and property or individuals who are targeted because they are defenceless, victims will not find justice with the country’s legal system. Gradually, Pakistan’s ‘Islamisation’ slowly progresses, especially in the densely populated province of Punjab.The Pakistan Christian Post reports that, in Chak Jhumra (Faisalabad), Muslim landowners destroyed and desecrated a Christian graveyard, using a tractor to plough over a number of tombs. Buried coffins were broken and the bones of the dead were brought to the surface. The local police refused to open an inquiry, whilst the landowners utter threats against local Christians to get them to stop legal proceedings....
However, a local Muslim has filed a claim, saying he owned the land on which the cemetery is located. The first hearing in the case is scheduled for 13 June 2011....
As additional evidence of the prevailing atmosphere of violence, a story came to light involving a 29-year-old Christian woman who was abducted by a Muslim co-worker, roughed up, drugged and gang-raped.
Afshan Sabir is a factory worker and a mother of three. She was assaulted over night on 27 March in an unspecified area near Gojra. When she woke up, she sought help in a state of disorientation. She later tried to file a complaint with the local police station. However, instead of helping the woman, police officers helped the rapists cover their tracks....

We had a Somali cabbie up here who abducted a fare by not letting her out of his car. He drove to a dark and secluded parking lot and set to raping her. Trouble was, he was parked on the periphery of the St. Paul Police HQ parking lot. An officer walking by noticed the rape, and took the Moslem into custody.

We should do whatever we can to evacuate non-Muslims from Muslim controlled lands, as John Spielman argues, but where would we put them, assuming they could get out alive? Who will take Christians into their home lands simply because Christians are Christians persecuted by Muslims?
Where is the charitable organisation that does this kind of work? Did someone here start it so we can work for it in our own small ways? Has anyone discussed forming a quango that we might work for to save Christians from Muslims? The Barnabas Fund might do good work, but do they do this work?
Christians around the world are suffering daily at the hands of Muslims, and it would be a good idea, I think, for some Christian to start a charitable organisation to make some difference. My suggestion, modest as it is, is that someone in the West start a charity devoted to helping Christians survive, in whatever small way one can do so through a small ngo. Look for a place where people are welcome refugees. I earlier suggested South Sudan. Go to, or find someone willing to go to South Sudan and rent an office, get a desk and a couple of chairs, get a laptop, an account at a print shop, set up for work. Have a bank account so one can raise money and pay a small staff and perhaps dole out food and favours to the locals to create some good will. Meet the locals and get them to help get a Christian refugee into the country. It's not impossible. It takes some effort. It takes some will. You'd have to want to do it.
Gang rape yes ....
It's a fairly new phenomenon in Denmark and there's been some very nasty cases involving very young women who had their existence and their future ruined before they knew they should take care who they got involved with.
Unfortunately it has also meant that girls and women who are troubled or have been caught leaving the narrow path of virtuousness has had the habit of saying "I´ve been raped by an Arab!", or by Arabs/Somalis/immigrants in plural as the case may be.
One girl of 15 got involved with three young Muslim men late one evening on a deserted train station. Afterwards they humiliated her, refusing to give her back her knickers and doing all the things you do when you despise females after you had your way. She got mad and regrettably decided to get revenge by accusing them of rape, and they accordingly were convicted and sentenced.
Fortunately the convictions were later overturned and she admitted to the false accusation.
Now, the three young men were obviously relieved and they had a lot to say in the newspapers, including names and photos. The odd thing is that their treatment of her apparently was of no concern to them.
Your proposal will get nowhere as long as North America, Europe, and China are governed by elites who, as Saul Bellow observed back in the 1970's, seem eager for the day when they will see the last of Christianity. Our elites, especially in Western Europe, see the Pakistani mobs and complicit police as doing the Lord's--oops, Historical Necessity's; Evolution's; the Dialectic's; Progress's, name your idol's--work. They seem to think that once they have done in Christianity in the Northern Hemisphere, they can go to work on Islam (a little like the Jihadis thinking that once they've wiped out the "Saturday People", they can go to work on the "Sunday People").
Kepha, if I didn't take it seriously I would have proclaimed myself a Christian years ago, would have gone to church and prayed and sang hymns and been a poster-boy for the religion. But I do take it seriously, and thus I'm not about to pretend that I have any passion for Christianity at all.
As much as I am not a Christian, even moreso do I reject, with deep passion, the poligions of our day, the cheap and stupid political religions that pass among the philistines as the agathon. If I were a better man, maybe I'd be a Christian. But I can't see a time I would ever be such a rotten man that I'd follow a political religion just because I have no mind or soul or sense.
These are terrible times. It's not that the jihadis are worse than most savages; it's that our intelligentsia is so utterly corrupt, and that the people have allowed themselves to be corrupted by them. Most people have no sense of what you're on about. Until they at least have an idea of what you are about there is likely to be little progress among the masses, if you will. Until people en masse turn to some decent system of values and want for themselves a life of the good then I will pursue my own agenda in place of a public decency. Nothing Christian in that, believe me. If the Hollow Men get hurt, I don't much care.

John, it's good of you to point out that Canada is allowing ten thousand Iraqi Christians into the country. I am appreciative of the Canadian government's actions here, and I imagine, never having looked into it, that America is far more open than Canada.
However, this doesn't address the point I have been making: that Christian refugees from dar al Islam need a nation to move to that is specifically for Christians fleeing Muslim persecution.
I note this narrow point because one needs payment to immigrate, as a rule, rather than charity. My point is that there are some nations in the world that have threatened Christian populations, e.g. South Sudan, and that are underdeveloped; thus, an influx of Christians would give military weight to the nation and add, more importantly, social capital. In this case, Christians win all round, at least on the face of it. South Sudan could have a million new residents working hard to survive, and from that, all that comes from people surviving. Social capital is more important than oil. Social capital is more important than anything one can name. Look at Israel. The same is potentially possible for a Christian nation.
