Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the sidelines of the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC-IV) in İstanbul on Monday.Ahmadinejad came to a room in his hotel in İstanbul’s Beşiktaş district five minutes before Erdoğan arrived and greeted journalists by making a peace sign and clinching his fist while saying “Assalamu alaikum,” the Anatolia news agency reported.
The meeting lasted close to two hours and was closed to the press.
Unlikely that these two men spent two hours together and didn't touch on what they could do to destroy Israel.

Is there any chance that the Turkish army fulfills its constitutional mandate to prevent Sharia from becoming the law of the land? It seems bad to hope for a civil war in Turkey rather than an unopposed takeover by hardcore Islamists, but under the circumstances it's the best we can hope for.

The best outcome would be for the CHP(pro-west and pro-israel) to win the June election, or at least gain enough seats in parliament to deny the AKP the majority(more likely to happen) needed to unilaterally revise the Turkish constitution. As for the MHP, they are fascist thugs but it appears that they may not have enough support to enter Parliament due to Turkey's 10% vote threshold. Pro-kurdish parties and independents(unaffected by election threshold) may also dock additional votes that the AKP might get. The 10% percent threshold itself was originally instituted to prevent chaotic coalition governments or kurdish separatists from entering parliament, if the CHP takes power, they will probably abolish it, as the AKP took advantage of it during the 2002 and 2007 elections. If Erdoğan manages to get a third term, the military may attempt to overthrow him, just as the pro-sharia Adnan Menderes(the only other PM to get 3 terms) was deposed and executed.
