In FrontPage this morning I discuss Netanyahu's excellent speech to Congress yesterday:
The most riveting moment of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s much-applauded address to Congress on Tuesday was his declaration that “the hinge of history may soon turn, for the greatest danger of all could soon be upon us: a militant Islamic regime armed with nuclear weapons.” He was speaking of Iran, but then he broadened his scope, adding: “Militant Islam threatens the world. It threatens Islam.”“It threatens Islam” — i.e., the real Islam is a Religion of Peace that has been hijacked by a tiny minority of extremists. This unreality is disappointing to see, and will not bode well for Israel insofar as it continues to translate into policy. Nonetheless, even to acknowledge that the threat has any Islamic character at all is a huge advance over Obama, George W. Bush, David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, et al.
For it was not until four years after 9/11, in October 2005, that Bush pointed out that the terrorists’ attacks “serve a clear and focused ideology, a set of beliefs and goals that are evil, but not insane. Some call this evil Islamic radicalism; others, militant Jihadism; still others, Islamo-fascism.” He had never used such terminology before that, generally limiting himself to calling the enemy “terrorists” and “evildoers” — names so general that they can apply to multitudes besides those who are actually warring against the United States today — and hardly ever used it after that.
Obama has been even less realistic. He has again and again reached out to the Islamic world, assuring Muslim countries of his respect for Islam. Again and again he has been rudely rebuffed, but that has not stopped him from making the attempt again and again. After the death of Osama bin Laden, he claimed that Osama was “not a Muslim leader, but a mass murderer of Muslims.” Then he made sure to give this mass murderer of Muslims a solemn Islamic funeral.
John O. Brennan, Obama’s top counterterrorism advisor, summed up the Obama administration’s warmly positive stance toward Islam in an August 2009 address: “Nor does President Obama see this challenge as a fight against `jihadists.’ Describing terrorists in this way–using a legitimate term, `jihad,’ meaning to purify oneself or to wage a holy struggle for a moral goal–risks giving these murderers the religious legitimacy they desperately seek but in no way deserve. Worse, it risks reinforcing the idea that the United States is somehow at war with Islam itself. And this is why President Obama has confronted this perception directly and forcefully in his speeches to Muslim audiences, declaring that America is not and never will be at war with Islam.”
That may be so, but Netanyahu’s statement is true as well – at least the first part of it: “Militant Islam threatens the world.” America is not and never will be at war with Islam, but a significant element of Islam is at war with America, Israel, and the rest of the free world – and Netanyahu is much more realistic about that fact than any other Western leader....
I agree with you. I think it's been a great visit for Bibi, in which he's been able to put the case for Israel clearly, forcefully, cogently and with passion.
I for one loved his mini-lecture, call it what you will, in his White House meeting with Obama.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is being allowed to build nuclear weapons and delivery systems, America is still beholden to Saudi Arabia for oil, American has allowed stealth jihad to flourish in our heartland, we are allowing Sharia law into our democratic system, we have turned Muslims into a protected class of citizens with a special protected status not afforded to others, America's economy is on the ropes and we are the world's largest debtor nation, our national debt ceiling keeps getting raised and the government keeps printing more money backed by thin air, the majority of our states are bankrupt or nearly so, our military is stretched so thin and has been overworked on misguided wars that they are at the breaking point, our national borders are practically wide open, our immigration policies are a pathetic joke with millions of illegals pouring in every year, and we are providing billions of dollars in welfare benefits and free education to these same illegals, and on and on it goes!!!! Can anyone please explain to me what the hell is going on!?!?
Moving forward now basis of territory and security, provides a foundation to resolve... these issues in a way that is just and fair, and that respects the rights and aspirations of Israelis and Palestinians.

If one can't see clearly then one can't think straight, and with this dipshit it doesn't matter because all he cares about are his GSERS goals and the final conversion of America to globo-socialism. This is a kind of "wink wink, nudge nudge" type statement. Obviously he knows the real drill about Islam. However not putting it in there allows the press to rail against him for being islamophobic. To those of us in the counter-jihad, we know better and understand what this statement means. Our job is increasing the number of people who understand what this really means, then it will no longer be necessary.

Our World: Obama’s diversionary tactics

What did the president wish to accomplish by purposely starting an ugly fight with the prime minister this past weekend?
And so it was a stinging rebuke when Obama declared Thursday: “The borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.” According to the Washington Post, Obama wrote these lines of his speech himself and Netanyahu was informed of them just as he was scheduled to fly to the US on Thursday evening. Obama gave the speech while Netanyahu was in the air on his way to Washington to meet Obama the next morning. It is hard to think of a more stunning insult or a greater display of contempt for the leader of a US ally and fellow democracy than Obama’s actions last week. And it is obvious that Netanyahu had no choice but to react forcefully to Obama’s provocation.
The question is why would Obama act as he did? What did he wish to accomplish by purposely starting such an ugly fight with Netanyahu?......
ON MAY 4, two weeks before Obama gave his speech, Fatah and Hamas signed a unity agreement. Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Like its fellow Brotherhood satellite al-Qaida, Hamas shares the Brotherhood’s ideology of global jihad, the destruction of Western civilization and the establishment of a global caliphate. Also like al-Qaida, it is a terrorist organization which, since its establishment in 1987 has murdered more than a thousand Israelis.......
Members of Congress seemed to respect—no, embrace—Netanyahu's words. I didn't keep an exact tally; but apparently Sean Hannity did. In his interview with Israel's Prime Minister following his speech, he said there were over fifty separate bursts of applause, and twenty-nine standing ovations. There was also cheering at several key points.
Now, some of the audience did sit on their hands—when Netanyahu passionately called for an undivided Jerusalem, Vice President Joe Biden could be seen sitting stiffly behind the podium, his hands clasped. I'm sure Congresswoman Barbara Lee and some others refrained from applause, as well.
But over all, the response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s strong words was unabashedly enthusiastic. It seemed that most members of Congress were glad to hear such plain speech.
"America is not and never will be at war with Islam ..."
I hear "surrender" every time I hear this phrase. Islam, a totalitarian fascist political cult, is conducting a global war of annihilation against our civilization! If Islam is the only side fighting, then the Free World will lose by default!
Islam must be fought to an unconditional surrender, and it must be destroyed. America, please stop waffling and apologizing and go to war. Stop pulling punches. Stop bankrupting our country by building up and subsidizing provinces in the Mohammedan Slave Empire: Kosovo, Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza, Indonesia, etc. etc. Recognize that any foreign country or region that declares itself an "Islamic state" or that puts Islam in its laws or its constitution, or that puts Islam front and center in its schools, has declared total war against our nation and our Constitution. It is a self-declared enemy, committed to OUR unconditional surrender. Treat it as an enemy state in wartime. That is simply what it is. Wake up to reality.
AI, you cranked-out quite a list of our troubles there--and the real bad news is--it's not an exaggeration--everything you said is the truth! Every day I marvel at how we could get into this mess--and that we just keep digging ourselves in deeper by doing THE SAME WRONG THINGS over and over again. It's like a bad dream that keeps repeating itself, getting worse with each rendition.
We've always had enemies and we always will. But we've always been able to recognize them, call them what they were and do what it took to beat them. It seems those days are behind us. And THAT'S the change I can't get used-to--that's what seems to me so different from the USA I grew-up in--we refuse to defend ourselves, we apologize, we bow and scrape, we give away the store. We're being attacked and looted every day and our institutions protect and defend the criminals. It's mind-boggling, it stretches credulity.
I was a little kid in the Cold War era when Kruschev said, "We will bury you." I don't recall that our response was "Communist Outreach" or massive Communist immigration or sending billion$ to Albania.
And yet muslims have done what Communists never did: Attacked our country on our own soil and killed three thousand of our people. And most of those victims didn't get the honor of that burial Nikita promised. And yet our heads-of-state keep telling us that, "We're not at war with islam." And we keep "welcoming" muslims into our country by the thousands and thousands. Cultural suicide!
I'm past the point where I understand any of it. It's going to take a sea-change to get us back out of this. And I'm sorry to say that I don't see that happening anytime soon. "Goodnight, America, where are you?"
No, I see it differently. The statement "It threatens islam" I see as meaning that the world will turn against islam as it said in the bible that the son of Abraham and Hegar would be a wild man his hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him. Genesis Ch. 16 verse 12. Just happened to see it today. So I see that islam by rearing it's ugly head will be exposed as the death cult it is and people will choose between good and evil. And by the way I notice that most converts to islam are looking for the dark side or are just plain nuts.
Who possessed of sense and knowledge can doubt that Islam is the best disguised totalitarian ideology of all time? If one were charged with coming up with an ideology which to its very core was totalitarian, supremacist, ungracious, replete with hate and intolerance, all the while masterfully masking itself as something benevolent and a boon to mankind, could anyone come up with something more adept at this than Islam? I couldn't.
Islam is the ultimate totalitarian ideology, the "perfect storm" of totalitarian ideologies, precisely because it so well disguises what it is really about. Yes, many people aren't fooled, and thankfully this number is growing as the months and years go by, but even to this day most of the world (including Muslims, who are the most fooled group of all by Islam) remains clueless about this magnificently disguised menace to liberty, an open mind, democracy and other wonderful things. The fact that someone as shrewd and skillful as Netanyahu still sees fit to play word games (for which I don't blame him one bit at this point in the struggle against Islam) only supports this premise all the more.
I loved the part about "We don't need nation building.....we're already built!!!"
Everytime I hear someone say islam does not have a single authority, that islam is divided, that there is no islamic conspiracy to destroy the west, i get an itch. I think I have a better answer now. There isn't any conspiracy to spread democracy either. Yet we do or try to anyway, because we believe in it. It's something we value, something we strive for, something we hold as good and true. There's no great conspiracy, but because we share the same ideal, the same foundation, it happens. So as long as the arab world holds the Quran as true, so long as they value jihad and hold that as true and good, there can't be peace. There's no worldwide conspiracy, but because they believe in islamic superiority, eventhough the evidence clearly shows islamic states are failed hellholes, because they believe islam is superior and must be spread by force if necessary, it happens.

Obamahammad may not be at war with Muhammadism but the U.S. and all non-Muhammadens are at war with Muhammadism. This has been true since muhammad's first delusion and/or mirage in the desert and it will continue until Muhammadism (as it is currently written) is no longer practiced by anyone on this planet.

Netanyahu's speech was GREAT! As I listened to him I found myself wishing we had politicians of similar quality.
It was heartening to see most of Congress solidly behind him. That support will be needed in the days ahead to help thwart Obama and the anti-Israel brigade in Foggy Bottom as they try to force Israel into an agreement that is not to their benefit.
Trying to separate Islam from 'radical Islam' ignores the fact that if there was no Islam, there would be no radical Islam. Islam itself is the breeding ground for radical Islam and the non-Islamic world ignores that to its own peril.

No, the Great Appeaser is a dyed-in-the-wool child of the American New Left (with considerable input from the Stalinist Old One) for whom bourgeois Americans are the plague and horror besmirching creation. He sees the world of Islam as an ally in his struggle to remake the country foolish enough to elect him.
The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)had a wonderful time trying to make the speech sound like a horrible thing... too bad reality conspires so viciously against their "narrative".
