Inaction at the U.N. only makes it more likely that such a day will eventually come. But they seem to have forgotten themselves for a moment on a Revolutionary Guard website, also forgetting that the official party line about the Iranian nuclear program is that it is exclusively for the peaceful purpose of generating electricity.
Except when it isn't. "'The day after Iran's first nuclear test is a normal day'," by Julian Borger for the Guardian, June 8:
Any mention of an Iranian nuclear weapon is taboo in the Islamic Republic, which insists that its nuclear programme is entirely for peaceful, civil purposes. So it is remarkable, to say the least, that an article has appeared on the Gerdab website, run by Iran's Revolutionary Guards, anticipating the day after Iran's first test of a nuclear warhead. Here is a translation of the text:
The day after Iran's first nuclear test is a normal day.
The day after Islamic Republic of Iran's first nuclear test will be an ordinary day for us Iranians but in the eyes of some of us there will be a new sparkle.
It's a good day. It's seven in the morning. The sun is not fully up yet but everywhere is bright. In the northern hemisphere many countries are beginning the day...
The day before, probably in central deserts of Iran, where once Americans and some other Western countries wanted to bury their nuclear waste, an underground nuclear explosion has taken place. The strength of the explosion was not so great as to cause severe damage to the region nor so weak that Iranian scientists face any problems in running their tests.
Today is a normal day like any other. Like 90% of the year, there is news about Iran, and these are the headlines which can be seen on foreign news sites:
Reuters: Iran detonated its nuclear bomb
CNN: Iran detonated nuclear bomb
Al-Jazeera: The second Islamic nuclear bomb was tested
Al-Arabia: The Shia nuclear bomb was tested
Yahoo! News: Nuclear explosion in Iran
Jerusalem Post: Mullahs obtained nuclear weapon
Washington Post: Nuclear explosion in Iran, Shock and despair in Tel Aviv
Meanwhile, the domestic media will offer many congratulations to the Hidden Imam and the Supreme Leader [...]
This strange, hypothetical, article, which first appeared on April 24, hammers home again and again the message that an Iranian nuclear test will not lead to disaster. On the contrary, life will go as before except that Iranians will feel better about themselves.
The news commotion will not knock life in Iran off balance. Civil servants will punch in at work on time as always, while some will be late as always. ...The day after the Islamic Republic of Iran's first nuclear test will be an ordinary day for us Iranians but in the eyes of some of us there will be a new sparkle. A sparkle of national pride and strength. [...]
Sparkle Jihad.
Meir Javedanfar, an Iranian-Israeli expert on the Tehran regime currently lecturing in Colombia, described the Gerdab article as "unbelievable".
But, but weren't we given the Recep the Arab Erdoclown™ guarantee that Iran's nuclear program was 100% peaceful???
But, but weren't we given the Recep the Arab Erdoclown™ guarantee that Iran's nuclear program was 100% peaceful???
Another worry in this is how much help Iran may have gotten from China and North Korea. Frankly, I think that Communist China is quietly abetting the rise of an anti-American nuclear alliance.
Preemptive tactical strike, or suffer the consequences later, Israel.
Every genocide has been declared before it began.
History will judge us very harshly for allowing barbarians access to nuclear weapons.
Obama must be sparkling with this news from his Muslim brothers in Iran.
It was clear to me in the mid-1990s that Iran was working toward a nuclear weapons capability. Why be surprised by any of this? The West obviously doesn't know what to do because to do something would mean war, which is an even less desirable prospect with U.S. forces tied up in Iraq and (vulnerable to cut supply lines) in Afghanistan.
Bring on the Mahdi! I doubt it will be a normal day in the Middle East if Israel's existence is threatened, and the quid pro quo for its destruction is the vaporization of Mecca, Medina, Qom, Karbala, etc.
More than one power can turn the sands of the desert to glass.
Right. This is Israel's problem. That is why there is inaction in the UN, on the part of the Europeans and the Americans. There is plenty of ceritude, Iran only wants to kill millions of Jews. Iran has set its sights on Israel's Jews. Europe need not worry. Americans can rest easy like we did throughout the nineteen thirties; there will be no nukes in American cities. America is safe. Europe is safe.
"Obama must be sparkling with this news from his Muslim brothers in Iran."
The American people installed this dangerous Muslim-born president in the White House. Despite a flagging economy, an abysmal foreign policy, he is hugely popular. Like they say, the people (more often than not) get the government they / we deserve.
Has mostly-Sunni Pakistan expressed any views on Shia Iran's nuclear ambitions? Pakistan will face nuclear-armed heretics to the west, and nuclear-armed polytheists to the east. And rumors say that the Saudis have already bought a number of the Pakistani warheads. So I wouldn't be too surprised if another Moslem country, rather than Israel, istervenes in Iran. They're probably holding off in the hopes that Israel will do it for them, and thus bear the brunt of outraged world opinion. Israel might be smart to hold off, and let the Sunnis do their own dirty work.
Israel won't risk Iran not useing a nuclear device. Israel must assume that they'll use it and use it as soon as they're able.
Depending on Israel's intell, there may very well not be a day after and if there is, subsequent days will no longer include Iran's nuclear threat towards Israel.
Netanyahu knows he has to strike first, useing justifiable conventional means, to take out Irans nuclear capabilities. He also knows that if he doesn't, he's risking Israel's total destruction.
The day after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor is a normal day.
It's a good day. It's seven in the morning. The sun is not fully up yet but everywhere is bright. In the northern hemisphere many countries are beginning the day...

"Has mostly-Sunni Pakistan expressed any views on Shia Iran's nuclear ambitions? Pakistan will face nuclear-armed heretics to the west, and nuclear-armed polytheists to the east."
Utter instability in this factual assessment.
"They're probably holding off in the hopes that Israel will do it for them, and thus bear the brunt of outraged world opinion."
Something is very wrong with this world, when serious contemplation shows that there would likely be more outrage over keeping Iran from getting nukes than there would be if Iran got them and used them. Resigned horror, yes, but outrage? Very doubtful.
And exactly how much have the last 5 US Presidents done to defend iran's oppressed minorities? ZERO!!!
A haunting article by Benny Morris.
I'll provide two different links, since links have a habit of breaking, as time elapses.

Holy G-d, Holy and Mighty, Holy and Immortal, have mercy on us.
My sences tell me that the dies have already been cast. When Tehran is able to exercise it's threats, Israel will strike conventionally.
I believe that Israel has already concluded, that a conventional strike, is the only way to diffuse and prevent a nuclear holocaust.
The impetus that will give reason and trigger Israel's planned action, may very well be Iran's first nuclear test.
A world justifiable, mitigating act. I believe there are no other choices.
A brilliant analogy, GI.
What, people still think the global jihad does NOT already have nuclear weapons? Just because one faction is the political arm (Saudi Arabia) and one is the nuclear arm (Pakistan) and one is the provoking arm (Iran), etc., does not mean that the faction leaders are not planning together. It just means when they openly unite under their political Mahdi/Caliph they may still squabble over who is greatest.
