(Reuters) - At least 24 people were killed in two separate bomb attacks in northwest Pakistan on Sunday, police said.
The attacks came after reported death of al Qaeda operative Ilyas Kashmiri in a U.S. drone missile strike in the ethnic Pashtun tribal region of South Waziristan on the Afghan border.
Militants vowed to take revenge of the killing.
A bomb exploded at a bakery in the cantonment area of Nowshera city, killing 18 people, police said.
"We have confirmed 18 dead," Turk Ali Shah, a police spokesman in Nowshera, told Reuters. He said 35 people were also wounded in the blast.
Zakaullah Khan, the city's top government official, said the death toll could rise as many wounded were in critical condition.
"It was a huge blast. It shattered the bakery and a restaurant nearby," he said.
Witnesses said a fire erupted in the bakery shop soon after the blast. "I saw several charred bodies laying on the ground and people were crying and shouting," Arif Nabi, a witness, said.
Hours earlier, another bomb blast at a bus stop on the outskirts of Peshawar, capital of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killed six people and wounded, police said.
Pakistan's Taliban militants, who have close ties to al Qaeda, have carried out a series of attacks to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S. special forces in a Pakistani town on May 2.
They have attacked paramilitary cadets, a U.S. consulate convoy, a naval base and other targets.

So that's it: this supposed god did us a big favor giving his religion named Submit (aka Surrender), delivered by way of a second big favor by the tireless Mohammed.

Islam is the perfect religion of peace?
I completely agree with you, Saleem, that Islam cannot be reformed. I know there are those out there, both Muslim and non-Muslim, who are sincere and well meaning and who hope against hope that Islam can come into the modern world. I understand their desire for this even though their goal is unrealistic in the extreme and here's why (as I know you know too well): there's no reforming rot; it's that simple---and that complex.
Islam has a unique advantage among the totalitarian ideologies in man's hsitory. It has masqueraded as a religion, and done this quite well I might add, and so it has gotten pass after pass which other totalitarian ideologies have not---even Marxism, which nonetheless remains to this day dear to the hearts of numerous but still clueless leftists. Fascism, by contrast, and in its various forms, thankfully has been consigned to the lunatic fringe on the right. But it is damning in the extreme that so many mainstream liberals still put in a plug for Marxism----and, sadly, Islam.

In Islam, whatever happens, happens by the will of Allah. So to question or complain is to object to the will of Allah. Many Moslems probably really believe this. Those who don't find it healthier not to voice their doubts.

Here is what a clear-headed Catholic priest, one Fr J L Menezes, who had spent many, many years in the subcontinent, mainly working among Muslims, had to say about Islam, in a book published in 1912.
In his THE LIFE AND RELIGION OF MOHAMMAD, (Roman Catholic Books, P.O. Box 2286, Fort Collins, Colo. 80522, 1912/2005 reprint, Fr Menezes wrote:

Hugh Fitzgerald, one-time august contributor to this forum, reproduced this material in a posting on this jihadwatch thread from May 2006. Carlebach was talking about the Arab Muslims, but his words apply just as well to Pakistani Muslims, and to Persian Muslims, and to every other variety of Muslim, including those foolish or depraved inhabitants of Western countries who embrace Islam and become rabid jihadists and sharia-pushers.

I think we see that ruin that Islam wreaks - "desolation and delusion" was how another clear-eyed observer, the great John Quincy Adams, summed it up, in a memorable phrase - very clearly in Pakistan.

A poster calling himself 'Siege of Vienna' unearthed that little gem from Grotius' work, and shared it here on this forum, almost exactly seven years ago.
As we contemplate the continuing orgies of bloodletting that are being carried out by Muslims in the name of Islam - including the examples here brought to our attention, the bombings of the bus stop and the bakery in Pakistan, which have killed some 24 people and wounded many others - we cannot but see that Grotius was right on the money when he stated that Islam is 'altogether contrived for the shedding of blood'.
