It's so hard for Islamic schools to get good bomb-making teachers these days: it's a field in which it is hard to learn from one's mistakes. But anyway, how many Christian boarding schools have bomb-making classes? How many Jewish boarding schools have them? How many Hindu boarding schools? Why is Islam different in this way? I know it must be the Zionists' fault in some way, but I just can't figure out how.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — A man reportedly trying to show students how to make explosives was killed by a homemade bomb inside an Islamic boarding school in Indonesia, police said Tuesday.School officials and students have prevented police from entering the building since Monday's explosion, local police spokesman Lt. Col. Sukarman Husen said.
But they discovered the body of the suspected bomb maker, a 30-year-old man identified only as Firdaus, on a bus Tuesday as it tried to leave the school compound, he said.
Eleven people have been taken in for questioning, Husen said, adding that police also confiscated a number of arrows and machetes.
Husen said the bombing victim was a treasurer at the school, but media reports alleged he was a former bomb trainee in the Philippine region of Mindanao. According to TVOne, he was killed in an unintentional explosion while training students about bomb-making.
Police are still persuading the school officials to let them enter the compound, Husen said.
National Police Spokesman Maj. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said the explosion was suspected to be from a homemade bomb being prepared to attack the police.
"Therefore they don't allow police to enter the boarding school," Alam told reporters in the capital, Jakarta. He added that two platoons, including soldiers, were around the complex.
The school on Sumbawa Island in central Indonesia came to police attention late last month, when a 16-year-old student was arrested for allegedly stabbing to death an officer. Police believe he belonged to an Islamic militant group, and they said he told his interrogators that police deserved to die for hunting down jihadists....
I always said that my catholic convent school education was deficient - now I know why; no bomb-making classes...
That's where we're going wrong, everyone. Having said that, teaching non-muslim kids to make bombs in class may be a necessary skill for the future...as well as firearms training. They'll likely need it before too long.

We had fun in the Chemistry Lab at school trying to create explosions, for example there was the (probably apocryphal) story of a student dropping a large cube of sodium into a sink and blowing the bottom out. But in our case the teachers were trying to STOP us!

Interesting. I spent some time in a yeshiva and must have missed "Bomb Making 101" classes taught by the rabbis.
My best friend, recently deceased, was a Roman Catholic priest on sabbatical; he seems to have missed the Christian version of those classes as well.

I am astonished at the glee and gloating of some of the commentators on JW on this topic. Here was a dedicated teacher, a specialist no doubt in Media Studies and the Quran, who was pressed into service as a Chemistry teacher when the regular guy was away on Terrorist Familiarization Courses in Jakarta. His charitable attempt to brew green tea in class for the suffering, deprived students temporarily in his care, unfortunately, went askew when he added a wrong ingredient. Such could happen to anyone.
We ought to be commiserating with his several wives and varied families, not making facetious comments and funnies ... let us hope that he is allowed into the Paradise Spattered Bodies Repair Facility where he is able to pull himself together piece by piece, and become one again. It is the charitable least we can do. Amen to that I say.
I went to the very first "smart kid" school in the USA way back when... and we blew shit up all the time! That was put to an end when one of my friends blew most of his hand off after bringing a bomb to school that he made at home.

Is bomb making in the Koran? I searched and searched, but can't find it. Nowhere does Allah talk about how Mohammad used bombs against enemies of Islam. Maybe bomb making, like kufr inventions of all kinds (AK-47s, Boeing 747s, Samsung smartphones, flat screen TVs, penicillin, iPad tablets) all are bid'ah, so is haram? Allah did not dictate the Koran into an iBook, nor did he post it on the internet for the faithful to read it online. What was he thinking?

I'm not sure I would want to take an undergrounduate course from this institute.
I definitely would be concerned about homework assignments and I would be even more concerned if my dog ate my homework. That may explain why Muslims don't have dogs.
I also think it would be advisable to call in sick if the class was scheduled to go on a field trip especially if the field trip announcement asked students to bring along a back pack.
I do have to give the prof. credit. He took his suicide bomber teaching position seriously but perhaps too literally.

Hi rb. Somehow it seems to me that these type of courses should be offering discredits instead of credits. When enough discredits are accumulated the undergrounduate is issued a MSc degree (Monster of Science)
