But he meant the morgue of peace
Interesting that a spy drone may have been around an Iranian nuclear installation. Maybe this portends well for future action against Iran's nuclear program. "Iran: Ahmadinejad threatens to send US, Israel 'to the morgue,'" from AKI, July 20 (thanks to C. Cantoni):
Tehran, 20 July (AKI) - Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has threatened to destroy the United States and Israel if put on the defensive."Resistance will continue until Iran sends its enemies to the morgue," he said on his website, making a reference to the US and Israel who he said are "on the verge of collapse and gasping for their last breathes."
Ahmadinejad may have been reacting to news from Iranian state media that Iran brought down a U.S. "spy drone" flying near its Fordo nuclear enrichment plant in Qom province.
State-run Press TV didn't say when the incident happened. US officials said there were unaware that a US unmanned aircraft was downed, according to news reports.
The Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad said on his website "is the region's greatest military power."
Amadnutjob is creative as ever, he's been making up these lines on how Iran will destroy Israel since he became thug and chief in Iran.
No doubt one could easily fill an entire chapter in a book on all the ways Amadnutjob is going to destroy Israel. I wonder if he gets all his antisemitic rants from the Iman Mahdi or anti-Christ he prays to?
What a creep.
wellington: a lot of this stuff is for domestic political reasos and our people ignore him. however the Israelis can not and should not ever put thier guards down. they are surrounded by enenmies whose only mission is to push back the jews into the city or better yet if they have the options to send the jews back to auschwits or buchenwald to have them gassed. back to Ahmadinejad:
In Iran he is reffered to as Meimooninejad! Meimoon in Farsi mean monkey!
Here in America I have coined tow names for him which I am registering it with the United States Patent office! so any uses them without my permission will sued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Asholinejad!! and of course my very favorie term:
Douchbaginejad!!!!!!!!!!!
The rumors are circulating that a Spy vulture is missing.
This much is certain, the more time goes by, the greater the loss of lives will be. A dark and frightful future portending for not only our children but also for those born under the islamic shadow.
Obama has predictably failed in protecting our future from the coming catastrophes resulting form islamic nuclear proliferation. All his naive and fanciful talk has actually had the opposite effect.
The economic shock wave of attempting a semblance of peace and security within our territory alone will assuredly cripple us beyond anything we have thus experienced.
As when imperialistic Japan and the Nazis were fought, once stark reality is faced and accepted even by "Chamberlains " of our time, mostly Dems, contingency X finally will check and destroy this evil with it's unquenchable ambition to kill and destroy us.
Mr obama, isalm is at war with us
I'm already at war with isalm
self enlisted citizen of the USA.
The Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad said on his website "is the region's greatest military power."
Camel-wash! Pakistan is the "region's greatest military power"; it's nuclear-armed, and Iran isn't (yet).
Amd second is Saudi Arabia, which -- rumor has it -- has bought, and controls, several of Pakistan's nukes.
Turkey and Israel also out-gun Iran. Iran could hardly hold off an attack by Iraq -- 1/3 third Iran's size -- in the '80's, and then only by sacrificing hundreds of thousands of its youth in human-wave attacks.
i meant to say to push the jews in to the sea
Thanks for that info, miriam rove, respecting how he's referred to in Farsi. A monkey indeed. And yes, I understand that a lot of what he says is for domestic political consumption but, of course, the fact that a nation needs or endures that kind of political consumption functions as a scathing indictment of that nation. Damn, I wish the Persian people would, en masse, rediscover their historical roots and go back to a religion which is far more enlightened and tolerant than Islam and which the Persians themselves created---Zoroastrianism. How much better off Iran would be if its clerics were Magi instead of mullahs.
Wow, he truly resembles a rabid rat, doesn't he?
In this nutcase example, you CAN judge a book by it's cover.
"Iran's Thug-In-Chief threatens to send US, Israel "to the morgue"
What a nice man!!
"The Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad said on his website "is the region's greatest military power."
Well...compared to the region's military organizations that surround Iran... Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Kuwait,Pakistan.....well Maybe so....but Pakistan already has the great equalizer...nukes...
The above "human" is the stuff nightmares are made of. I look at his face and I think "nightmare."
I wonder how many U.S. news outlets will let their customers know that a foreign head of state wants them in the morgue.
'The Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad said on his website "is the region's greatest military power."'
Must be a very small region, befitting a very small man.
"And yes, I understand that a lot of what he says is for domestic political consumption but, of course, the fact that a nation needs or endures that kind of political consumption functions as a scathing indictment of that nation."
Very well put. We also need to remember that missiles can be launched and terrorists can be armed for domestic political consumption too.
"Meimooninejad! Meimoon in Farsi mean monkey!"
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he looks like a monkey!
Here's a link to a much better-looking one and considerably less threatening!

More posturing and projecting from the Chief-Chimp-in-Charge.
This dispised Iranian maniac will, in short order, find out that his religiously based delusional aspirations will soon come to an end. Israel will see to it that if a war is to be fought, it will be without nuclear weapons. Delusions of greatness are inherent in little men.
Now that's a face only his mother could love...maybe.
yawn.
Just slap me awake when he's finished rambling.
I seem to remember some whackjob named Saddam H. a few years back promising us the 'mother of all battles'.
Yeah...we see how that went, camel rider.
Do yourself a favor Iran. Disappear from public view while you still have a chance.
While Iranians (Parsees) in general are good looking, how come they have elected this man-who looks like a cross between baboon and a chimp? My Iranian friend here tells me that Islam is loosing it's appeal in the youth circles and most of the mosques are empty during friday prayers.
your friend is right please read my post above
Can you imagine how ugly his mother was under her burka? She must have looked like some kind of a little hairy banana-nosed monster.
This is Ahmadshithead, as we know him. I think no contemporary politician has got as many flattering nicknames as him. Ahmadnutjob is also a funny one and it doesn't surprise me that he's called monkey in Farsi. When I see pics of him, I wonder whether he's potty-trained or not. Anyway, his stupid grin is inimitable, his trademark. But we shouldn't be taken in, he's really dangerous, he's underhanded and determined to destroy Irael and kill all Jews.
"Resistance will continue until Iran sends its enemies to the morgue," he said on his website...
...............................
Well, Ahmadinejad has certainly convinced me that Iran's nuclear ambitions are entirely peaceful! sarc/off

Well, yes. But as Wellington and Tom Davis have noted, you have to wonder about a country where this sort of ugly bellicosity plays so well for domestic consumption.
After all, Western politicians are not posturing to their own constituencies about randomly killing huge numbers of Persians or 'wiping Iran off the map'.
I don't believe we can always assume rhetoric is just rhetoric. Sure, Kruschev's "we will bury you" came to nothing, but the civilized West assumed Herr Hitler's bellicose rhetoric was just that—at least until he goosestepped into Austria.

Usually I find your constant use of the term "douche bag" a bit tiresome, but this *is funny*. By the way, I think you'd be better off trying to trademark those terms. Insults aren't really something you can patent...
One thing about mad men like Adnutjob, they mean what they say. Hitler wrote everything he meant to do in Mein Kaumpt, but no one paid attention to the rantings of a mad man.
Best we pay attention to adnutjob's rantings, he is not just posturing for attention. He will attack Israel and the US at his first opportunity. No amount of negotiating or sanctions will deter him. He believes he is called to bring in the shira messiah. Mutually Assured Destruction is what he is working tword. His Islamic belief is he must warn the infidels to either convert or be destroyed, I believe we have been warned.
The leaders in Israel understand this, I hope our leaders in the US do as well.
Thats good to know.
There are stories Ive seen where a lot of Islamic women have had it with being oppressed.
It would be good to see the women and young generation come against these lunatics that make the whole damned bunch look bad.
Let's give him what he wants... Let's give him his jihad. Pre-emptive strike on Iran now. Only problem is there are so many anti-Ahmadinejites in Iran and we would not want innocent to suffer or see collateral damage. Rule out a pre-emptive strike then. The only real solution is to send in hitmen and assassinate Ahmadinejad and his goons. America did have the chance to assassinate him when he was speaking in one of America's universities. Once the brains are taken out, their strength becomes useless. Political assassinations are sometimes necessary to keep the world peace. WE NEED MORE von Stauffenbergs!
Ahmadinejad must be assassinated... There were over 40 attempts on Hitler's life. Two of which were nearly successful. The outcome of WW2 would have been very different if they succeeded.
sheesh - that picture - eyebleach! I need eyebleach! Have you ever seen anybody so ugly, outside or in ...
Wow, he truly resembles a rabid rat, doesn't he?
He was better looking back in the day when he was the young, virile Mujaheed leader running the U.S. Embassy kidnapping, a felony crime for which he was never charged.
He was styling and smiling back then.
Amadnutjob...
Prez Mahmoud is perfectly sane. Every statement uttered and every move made by this visionary leader has been in perfect keeping with the belief system that has ruled over Persia for 1,200 or 1,300 yrs now.
I like to think of Prez Mahmoud as a straight shooter. For example, his speech about his vision of a launching an EMP attack on the eastern half of the United States particularly got my attention.
That was a straight shot.
Tell this whack-job to check with Herman Cain or Allan West first before he does anything.
How many times have we asked you to watch your language?
Remember that this clown represents what once was Persia. A fine people, a fine state, a fine history - until the Muslims took over.
Now we hear that Iran intends to have missile armed ships in the Med and even the Atlantic.
I wish I could say that we Brits could counter that - we did, once, rule the waves. We can't anymore since our Royal Navy is now a ragtag affair which would disgrace a downmarket marina of reclaimed boats. Hell we no longer have even an aircraft carrier. Perhaps we may even have to recommission HMS Belfast and remove it as a tourist attraction on the Thames. It's getting to that.
Even worse our Army has fewer soldiers than small Switzerland.
I'd even guess that landlocked Switzerland has a bigger Navy.
They certainly successfully competed in the Whitbread "round the world" yacht race 21 years ago. I know. I was in Auckland Harbour when they finished in 1990. I saw it and cheered the defeated Brits.
Whatever, the "thug in chief" is a loudmouthed bully. I remember how I dealt with those 50 years ago. I gave them a seriously bloody nose and a massive headache. And I was "none aggressive" but had a "red line" when my temper overcame moderation. It worked.
Time I think to give A a seriously bloody nose, a serious headache, and the wish that he hadn't just been hit in the balls. Hell I wouldn't just hit the midget in the balls. I'd wrench them off and then stuff them in the mouth of the Supreme Leader K (can't remember the spelling). sort of reckon the Persians would be grateful.
I just thought of a name for this Jew hating POS:
Adolfhitlejad!!!!!!!!!!
The spelling is perhaps Khāmene’i rather than Khomeini.
Both are/were totally contemptible.
I'm with you. Yes, there probably are a fair number of Iranian who call their thug-in-chief Meimooninejad. And I'm aware that there are small but growing movements away from Islam. But, by and large, I think that the political alternatives in iran are bad, bad, and dreadful.
Everyone agrees that the Iranian revolution of 1979 was a popular movement, and you have noticed how Monkey-man's bellicosity still has a lot of domestic resonance. They say that the main opposition group is the Mojaheddin-e-Khalq,whose unholy mi of Marxism and political Islam is about as un- and anti-American as you can get. When I think of how those creeps, in their own circles, boast about being the first "revolutionary fighters" into the "nest of spies" back in 1979, and how there are American politicians who want to take them off the list of terrorist organizations, I snarl and spit. They're one other group that, by its actions, have made it clear that the only relationship between Iran and the USA has to be unremitting hostility.
I do not believe for a minute that the Iranian street has ever forgiven the USA for the coup against their hero Mossadegh, whose policies would've given southern Azerbaijan and Kordestan over to the "fraternal embrace of Soviet peoples" and might have led to the Soviet Union's showdown with the Islamic world during the 1950's and '60's in Iran, instead of in Afghanistan in the 1980's. But, given the mindsets of those times, I'm sure the Soviets would've won a guerrilla war in Iran in the 1950's, because they would've seen to it that future generations of Iranians would remember Hulegu Khan and Temur Lenk as merciful men. I'll believe in a change of heart in Iran when I see an Iranian regime initiate feelers for improved relations with Washington, and not before.
In the meantime, given the domestic balance of forces in Iran, it is incumbent on EVERY American administration to make several things crystal clear: (1) Any move by Iran against a US ally will be an act of war, in which the USA will use all of its resources, including nuclear weapons, and (2) the smuggling of a WMD into the USA by a terrorist group will bring such retaliation that the official Iranian dialect of Farsi will, in the aftermath, be spoken only in the suburbs of LA, by a few elderly Israeli Jews, and in Jahanum itself; (3) so, if the Iranian government doesn't want that to happen, it will have to exercise very tight control over such proxies as Hizbollah and Hamas, (4) the US takes Iran at her word when she says she values martyrdom, and will very liberally hand out such martyrdom in any way, shape, or form should someone like man-monkey bring about war between the US and Iran; including, given current Islamic militant practice, regarding anything taller than the wheel of a jeep as a combatant--so if the turbaned gentlement of Qom don't want those of their grandchildren whom the jackals and vultures don't eat to be adopted by kindly American Jews and Christians, they'd better behave.
I do not believe for a minute that the Iranian street has ever forgiven the USA for the coup against their hero Mossadegh...
Kermit Roosevelt, the progeny of his grandfather the egregious and unpleasant Teddy. Both were self-important Harvard Men, that is to say Ivy League Moron elites who had no idea what they were messing with.
Kermit was such a stiff that when he was sent in to overthrow Mohammed Mossadeq (pbuh), the victim, he didn't even bother to mull the consequences. His grand daddy operated the same way. You can see this M.O. all over State and CIA to this day, one inexplicable dumbass move after the other.
"But he meant the morgue of peace"
Good one.
Maybe Madmood I'm a Dinnerjacket had in mind Edgar Allen Poe's "Murders in the Rue Morgue"? Rumour has it he wants to play the part of the killer. No suprise there. The killer was an ape if I remember correctly. Career change looming? No need for a costume. There's a saving already! Watch this space.
Latest on Madmood's career change:
Apparently the Ayatollah's puppet (or should that be pet monkey) has turned down a major Hollywood studio's offer of the ape role with the words : "Nobody makes a monkey out of me!" (Well we don't have to, do we?)
Difficult to understand given his previous interest in the part. Some have sugggested he might find working with 'Jooz' a problem. How could they think such a thing?!
Trivia:
Madmood's favourite movie: "King Kong".
That's good news, Margaritha, I heard similar reports before.
Perhaps it's only natural and logical. When people have a government that oppresses them very much and performs bad they want to get rid of it and if they can't they are going to hate it.
And when that hated government ties itself so much to Islam and it's representatives, then it seems logical that people turn away from that religion too.
And also, the enemy of one's enemy is one's friend, so if people in large majority hate the government and their oppressing thugs in Iran, they are bound to be more favorable towards America. And then again, against Russia, which is an ally of the Iranian government.
And the Iranian government consists of a lot of bungling idiots, incompetents. Iran since 1979 almost never performed well economically. There are overly much unemployed, desperately poor, heroine-addicted in Iran.
Then we have the fact that we can now see SYRIANS protesting against the Assad Regime also burning IRANIAN flags! Iran is hated by many Sunni Muslims and especially Sunni Syrians too.
And for the future; well, perhaps even their oil-income will dry up, as more and more oil-buyers will use alternatives for oil and become energy-independent.
And what's more; somehow it seems that Iranians no longer get many children, there reproduction seems to be only 1,5 child per women. I think that's a disadvantage for the ayatollahs too. And Israel reproduces much faster, last I heard about 3 children per woman. The Islamic Republic of Iran is going nowhere, it seems to me.
Interesting that a spy drone may have been around an Iranian nuclear installation.
Vastly superior technology will defeat Islam. We listen to their communications, we can take out targets at will, we can do what we want and they are helpless.
ok. i will try to do better. it is that I just hate those peopel.
m
You need not hate those people miriam-as their days are numbered. My Iranian friend, who lives in Denmark again gives me the following information about Iranian youths ,who form a sizable number in Denmark:
Growing number of Iranian Muslims are being baptised:
"In Denmark, a growing number of Muslims have converted to Christianity in the last few years," reports Idea, an evangelical news service. Free churches in particular report of a stream of Muslims wanting to be baptised; in Odense, almost 50 Muslims have joined one Pentecostal church in the last three years alone, according to a local newspaper report. Other churches report similar numbers, and John's Church, part of the Danish State Church in Copenhagen, has baptised 25 ex-Muslims in the same period. According to the newspaper report, the new believers are predominantly Iranians who have been in Denmark for several years. Leif Munksgaard, leader of the State Church's Centre for Intercultural Cooperation, says "They left a totalitarian state, and came to Denmark, where they encountered Christianity and were attracted by the good news about Jesus - that's normal!"

And Hitler was wounded by rifle fire during World War I. Just imagine the horrors we would have been spared if that bullet had slammed into his brain instead.

Rest assured Kepha, that much planning has already been done. The U.S. presence in Iraq and Afghanistan, as costly and as difficult as it has been, has as much to do with long-term strategy as it does with the challenge posed by Islam itself.
Many things have not changed from the days of the Cold War. The U.S. Navy keeps close watch over the Pacific, and the Submarine Force chases Chinese subs regularly. The U.S. Air Force is also very busy with China and Iran too.
Now, if we only had a president who knew when threats were necessary and how to make those threats credible. It's clear that with regard to Iran, he hasn't been able to get them to stand down. (I wonder if, behind the scenes, America's long-time allies aren't looking on with some trepidation.)
P.S.
As a former diplomat, you must be appalled that the president of the United States doesn't know anything about protocol; and just as bad, no one on his staff seems to know anything either. Not only is the president confused about how an American head of state should behave, he's a poor administrator as well.
Margarithe
if that's true, and if these new converts are sincere, and persevere, then that's the best news I've read all day.
"For God does not desire the death of sinners, but rather that they should turn from their wickedness, and live".

I agree Kepha. With all due respect to the posters here who believe Iranians are ready to both overthrow the Mullahs and turn their backs on Islam en masse, I just don't see it.
While some Iranians are definitely dissatisfied, I believe that all too many Iranians are still generally aligned with the aims of the "Islamic revolution".
There does appear to be a genuine core of Iranians who are pro-democracy, but they are small, threatened, and more of them seem to be fleeing to the West than influencing the course of events in the Shari'ah state of Iran.
As always with these things, I would *much prefer to be wrong*. In fact, few things would make me happier than seeing a democratic, civilized Iran—rather than the Islamic hell-hole it is today.
As a matter-of-fact, I am appalled at the Oblahblah team's gaucheries. They reciprocated the British gift of a desk made from the timbers of a ship that had stopped slavers off Africa in its days of service with CD's that couldn't be used on British machines! They also accepted a blatant insult from the Chinese during Hu Jintao's state dinner. They also allowed someone to lead them by the nose into supporting the Libyan rebels. Someone was not thinking. I've yet to hear anything on the news about recognition of Southern Sudan; but that may be the fault of the MSM. Then again, in the Clinton years, our schmoozer-in-chief entertained the vicious terrorist Gerry Adams in the White House (another poke in the eye to a good ally).
Getting back to the Libyan conflict, which I consider one of the greatest of this administration's foreign policy ineptitudes, my opposition to supporting the rebels is simply on the ground of our not having a dog in that fight; and now it appears that Qaida followers are prominent in the rebel movement. As for Qaddafi, the only good things I can say about him are that he proved prudent enough to give up his WMD program when he realized there was a we had someone with guts in the Oval Office, and that, judging from his looks, he may be a natural son of one of the Marx brothers (Groucho, Chico, Harpo, or Zeppo, not Karl).
Getting back to the Libyan conflict, which I consider one of the greatest of this administration's foreign policy ineptitudes, my opposition to supporting the rebels is simply on the ground of our not having a dog in that fight[.]
Yesterday I returned from a trip to Colorado where I saw the the retirement ceremony of my favorite colonel and caught up with a few of my military friends.
At the post ceremony party, in a house crowded with well- wishers, there was trio of officers off to the side discreetly talking about the Libyan war. Their conclusions were much the same as yours; and very quietly, over glasses of good wine, I heard some subtle but damning criticism of the commander-in-chief. This was all off-duty talk. Their opinions were in no way official. One of the men said a little boldly, "The president doesn't know when to let things alone, or what is really important. This fight is not ours. Some things you have to let go."
These men knew very well that the U.S. must officially deny the presence of Special Forces in a foreign country, but NATO air operations in Libya would be nearly impossible without those forces in place. It is not likely that air strikes are carried out in Libya if there are no CCTs or some units with comparable skill at work. (CCT - Air Force Combat Control Teams - among the tasks of the Combat Controllers is to direct tactical air operations in covert or clandestine missions.) The U.S. would also deny that the NCS/SAD(DO) is working in Libya; but again, any mission in support of the rebels would almost have to involve them as well. Thus it is not true that there are no U.S. forces on the ground there.
I agree with you. We have no fight in Libya, but good soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines salute smartly and go where they are sent.
As for the Iranians shooting down a U.S. satellite, the U.S. would wisely deny that one had been lost and would retaliate immediately. You may recall that a few years ago, the Chinese shot down one of their own satellites. President Bush responded very swiftly. It was not much in the news, but the Chinese were very cautious after that. Unfortunately, the lesson has faded a bit and soon the Chinese will be up to their old tricks. As I said before, much about the Cold War hasn't changed. Most Americans think that the Cold War is over. It's partly true, but it's really more that the enemies are slightly different while official rhetoric has softened considerably.
Looking at the current commander-in-chief, I almost miss old President Happy Pants. He may have given the glad eye to an intern, but he was better than the ideologue we have now.
When it comes to national defense, America has more challenges than those made by Islam, and that makes America's security problems very difficult indeed. Mr. Obama was not ready for the office and in three years, he still hasn't learned very much. I'll be happy to vote against him. It's only too bad that the ballot doesn't have a space in which to say, "Hell no."
@gravenimage and dumbledoresarmy. Greetings to you. I'm glad to see your posts on this thread. I hope you are doing well.
Israel should just go on the warpath and assassinate all of these nutjobs jihadist leaders.
