Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria warns Christian community not to resist Islamic banking, or face group's wrath

A sternly worded letter? No, they say they "would rather go to war" than give up their campaign for Sharia finance. "Muslim group says no going back on Islamic Banking," by Tony Akowe for The Nation, July 24:

A Muslim group in the North yesterday threatened to defend the implementation of the Islamic Banking system with the last drop of their blood. It warned the Christian community opposed to it to back off or face the full wrath of their anger. The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria told reporters at the end of its meeting in Kaduna last night that it would rather go to war than give up their agitation for Islamic banking. It said since Islamic banking has been implemented in Britain and other Christian-dominated countries, there is no reason why it cannot be implemented in Nigeria.

President of the group, Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, who read the communiqué, warned Christians to drop their opposition to the interest-free Islamic banks in Nigeria.

Datti said: “We are very happy that with a lot of efforts Jaiz Bank has now become a reality. The company owning Jaiz has assured us that the bank is coming in September and they have assured us that they will be starting with three branches, namely Abuja, Kaduna and Kano. And they will continue to open the branches rapidly thereafter.

“I want to assure them that nothing can stop the Jaiz bank from coming into been because it’s being brought in according to the laws of Nigeria. There is nothing illegal about it. If they have a Christian bank that they want to establish, they have the freedom to bring it to the Central bank and if they can prove their case, a Christian bank will be opened.

Disingenuous. They know there is no comparable system to Sharia in Christianity in scope or political supremacist motive, let alone the imperative to implement such a system through violence if necessary.

The more we give in to Islam in the West, the more brutal Muslims become towards their minorities, especially as they tend to see us as "Christians". It is exactly as these people are saying: Islam in the West is roaring along; Western people are voluntary dhimmis...so they puff up with pride, arrogance and justifiable disdain that despite all our progress we should knuckle under and self-Islamise.

Some of you may have seen my previous comments a couple of days ago where I was sharing a link to an extremely shocking video showing beheadings and stonings, probably the most sickening ever. Well, unsurprisingly, it has beeen removed by YouTube, but what I did not expect is that even Ru Tube, a russian website, would also censor it. The reputation of Sharia banking is already bankrupt. Too many examples of this crooked system, already. And as Islam is rated as a religious 'junk' bond, because force is a first resort, Sharia banking is doomed to failure.

Of course, when it does fail, the Jews will be blamed.

One of the upshots of the Biafra-Independence War (1965-1967) was re-trenchment of islam in the north. Few are aware of the cause of that war. As in India under the Brits, Muslims were intentionally over-represented in the colonial forces, because they were more likely to work against local minorities. At Independence, muslims dominated military and politics, in spite of their minority status. By 1964, encroachment on the center of the country, resulted in 350,000 coerced conversions to islam. A Christian group retaliated by murdering a muslim religious leader, "Saudana." In the turmoil, Biafrans sought independence on cultural grounds. Loss of the Province would have reduced the Christian majority, and Unionists moved against the revolt. The conflict ended after the death by starvation of 2,000,000 Biafrans. After same, muslims ended moves against the centre, and there was a long stalemate. In the nineties, muslims became the largest ethnic group, and shariazation began. As far as the northern States are concerned, they are dar-islam.

No problem here. All the Supreme Council for Sharia needs to do is to bring in Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and boom, we're done. It would be like the Supremes performing in Madison Square Garden.

Sharia finance turns the laws of economics on their haids, ignoring thousands of years of proofs. Happily, dumping those laws would leave risk evaluation and pricing tasks to inside players, preferably the dudes with the extra-bushy beards and the supersized hats: the Moslem clerics.

Elena knows this game, plus she's got platinum credentials. She's edigreed up to the gills like a Gubmint Sachs board room: Princeton, Oxford, Harvard Law, professor at Chicago Law and Harvard Law, Dean at Harvard Law, White House Counsel, the works.

Mere mortals can only imagine what she's got inside her haid, but we know it's gotta be awfully good and we know her work with the dudes taking over Nigeria rat now would be the best.

Better yet, Elena has even been caught red-handed committing fraud for political gain. So she and the Mullahs will get along just fine. Common interests and all that.

You've summed it up very well. The best proof that can be offered is what has happened in the UK over the last 30 years. A combination of liberal immigration policies and not taking the true Islamic agenda seriously enough to stop it in time. I'm afraid that it is too late for the UK, but not so for the US. We need to learn from their mistakes.

I think you may have understated the case when you said it is shocking. Shocking is a video where someone suggests wearing tennis shoes with a tuxedo, or drinking champagne from the bottle through a straw when dining at a fine French restaurant.

This video is beyond horrifying; yet, as depraved as it is, I think this is what has to be shown in public discussions on Islam (with suitable warnings to the audience).

It is one thing to know that there are beheadings; it is another matter altogether to understand what that really means.

In Hollywood, such things are always neat and clean and sometimes even heroic and dignified. There is never a hint of torment and depravity.

The public should be made to see these things just like the Germans were made to see the death camp atrocities committed by their government and military during WW2.

The public must understand that what they are seeing, as disgusting as it is, pales in comparison with what the founder of Islam did to the Jews in Arabia.

The public must understand that all Muslims hold Muhammad in high esteem for committing those atrocities and that groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, the darlings of the MSM, would love to be just like Muhammad in this matter.

If there are any supporters of Islam, in the audience, who claim that these barbaric acts are contrary to that religion, then they will be allowed to present as supporting evidence the fatwa's for apostasy issued internationally against these terrorists.

For fairness, they will be given Internet access to gather and present the information that proves their contention.

I would doubt they can even find a whisper of complaint within the ummah regarding the acts shown in this video. Actually, I know the Islamists or their supporters wouldn't even take up this challenge because they already know what they will find, NOTHING!

I presume you're being flippant here, Esmeralda, and making a wry comment about our current economic situation.

But "Shari'ah compliant finance" cannot be separated from the rest of Shari'ah.

Also, while Shari'ah banking is not as obviously evil as, say, flogging and stonings, it is nontheless very damaging to any economy. Just one look at the sorry financial state of the Muslim world should convince you of that.

Of course, this is not all due to "Shari'ah finance", but it is very much a contributing factor. The inability of ordinary citizens to get loans at a rational rate of interest, by itself, mitigates against the growth of business and the establishment of a solid middle class.

If you think the West is in financial trouble now—and, due to years worth of foolish economic practices, it is—you should see how much worse things would be under Muslim finance.

The very good thing about Nigeria is that the most pious, radical and zealot Muslims are located in the upper North of the country. It's time for them to secede and break out from the rest of Nigeria and form an islamic republic that will be govern by sharia, islamic banking and allah. The South and Middle belt are tired of these guys that do not contribute any thing to this country. Believe me u, if the oil well of Nigeria were in the north, these greedy bastards would have alraedy broken away to feast on their resources.
Northern christians, mostly located in the middle belt, are ready for war. There is no need to even involve the rest of Nigeria. Northern Christians are willing and ever ready to slug out a bloody religious war with these mad morons that are not even real muslims
