Somali jihadists say there's no famine, deny ever lifting ban on aid groups

Perhaps they suppose a population sufficiently weakened by hunger will be easier to control. In addition, the idea of having filthy infidels going around performing large-scale acts of mercy and charity is bound to provoke jealousy. It is also bad for business when the people denounced as apes and pigs are the ones with the means and motivation to save lives. "Somali Islamists maintain aid ban and deny famine," from BBC News, July 22:

Somalia's al-Shabab Islamists have denied lifting their ban on some Western aid agencies and say UN reports of famine are "sheer propaganda".
The UN on Wednesday said that parts of Somalia were suffering a famine after the worst drought in 60 years.
A spokesman for al-Shabab, which has ties to al-Qaeda and controls much of the country, accused the banned groups of being political.
But the UN insists famine exists and it will continue its aid efforts.
Most Western aid agencies quit Somalia in 2009 following al-Shabab's threats, though some say they have managed to continue operating through local partners.
Some 10 million people are said to need food aid across East Africa but Somalia is by far the worst-affected country, as there is no national government to co-ordinate aid after two decades of fighting.
Thousands of people are fleeing areas under al-Shabab control to camps set up in areas of the capital controlled by the weak interim government, which is battling the Islamist insurgents.
The UN World Food Programme (WFP) was one of those banned. [...]
The two districts where a famine has been declared - Bakool and Lower Shabelle - are under al-Shabab control and aid agencies have been wary of resuming activities there amid fears for the safety of their staff.
Al-Shabab spokesman Ali Mohamud Rage earlier this month announced that aid agencies, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, would be allowed back into Somalia as long as they had "no hidden agenda".
This had prompted the US to say it was lifting its ban on allowing its food relief into areas controlled by al-Shabab, which it calls a terrorist group.
However, Mr Rage told journalists in Mogadishu on Thursday night: "The agencies we banned are still banned. The agencies were involved in political activities."
He admitted there was a drought but said reports of a famine were "utter nonsense, 100% baseless and sheer propaganda.
"There is drought in Somalia and shortage of rain but it is not as bad as they put it."
Rashid Abdi, a Somalia analyst at the International Crisis Group think-tank, told Reuters news agency that al-Shabab were trying to avoid being "seen as people who oversaw a large-scale humanitarian disaster".

And the infidels would be the ones saving the day. Can't have that. When al-Shabaab is hungry, however, their tone will likely change.

Somehow I don't think David Peter will comment on this, or if he surprises me and does, he'll blame the US and Israel.

Care to comment on the strong possibilty that Fjordman who has posted regularly on this site is in fact Anders Behring Breivik, the pschyopath who has killed over 90 people in Oslo?
If this is true, it is hardly surprising given the fear and hate sponsored here.

You're way behind the curve. Mr. Spencer has already definitively answered your question on another thread. There is zero connection between the Fjordman you mention and Anders Behring Breivik.

However, perhaps you'd care to mention just one example of the 'fear and hate' that JW 'sponsors' - to use your terms.

The only thing anyone can find here is accurate, truthful information about Islam's agenda to subvert non-Islamic societies.

And by the way; You're a clown!

A.M.Rage...what an appropriate name for a Muslim terrorist group spokesman..

"He admitted there was a drought but said reports of a famine were "utter nonsense, 100% baseless and sheer propaganda.
"There is drought in Somalia and shortage of rain but it is not as bad as they put it."
"

I bet those starving Somalians you see on TV as well as those you don't see would disagree. Maybe one day they will realize that the Muslims who control their lives are liars..

Well of course what is required is for a rich Islamic country that shares Shabab's philosophy to step up and provide aid...
I wonder what's stopping them?

"Somali jihadists say there's no famine,"

They also allege Islam is a religion of peace..

And the infidels would be the ones saving the day. Can't have that. When al-Shabaab is hungry, however, their tone will likely change.

It would be welcome if they would change their tone when they get hungry. It would be even better if they changed their hearts and threw off Islam altogether. But what will probably happen is that they will allow aid in and will simply steal what they need. It will be the food jizya.

A clown, a scurrilous clown. (I know that's redundant.) Since the news of the Oslo attack, there have been several trolls out gloating on the various Internet comment threads. JW of course has its share. Mr. Whittaker's comments here are irrelevant to the thread. Scurrae ubique!

Buraq, apparently many are confused. They believe that to hate Islam for all of its evil ideas is the same thing as hating Muslims themselves. We can thank forty years of post-modern nonsense for that.

Funny that the rich islamic arab countries are in no hurry to provide aid. Why should they? They would rather much prefer the cluelss western aid agancies put their useless lives on the line to provide these islamic snakes aid. it's all allah's will you know.

Of course caring humans and the UN primarily want to help starving people and that's all there is to it.

But going out on a limb here and at the risk of sounding cynical here; must prolonged help given or offered always be without any conditions?

Can the Democratic people who are opposed to the Islamic people acknowledge their difference in political system and compete with each other? Because the 2 are really opposed to each other.

And how logical is it to help people who are and stay loyal to the opposition, not to say the enemy-camp? Is it not justified to help people on condition of changing sides? Of course immediate necessary help must be given to all, but can't prolonged help not be conditional?

In such a scenario conditions for offering citizenship of a Democratic country to people who flee Islamic rule can be carefully formulated and upgraded all the time. Primarily about loyalty and education about Democratic laws and values and perhaps some service done by them or their children.

Or they can get back under the wings of the Islamic rulers and rules. Who almost always and everywhere perform dismally in many respects compared to Democratically ruled countries. Although I concede that that also is a matter of opinion.

But I strongly believe in all people at least having a rudimentary core of responsibility and choice.

And we are against Islam, but not just against Islam, but for a better alternative political system, falling under the umbrella name of the Democratic political system. Our presumed hate and fear of Islam is also love and protection (and promotion, and why not?) of our own cherished political system, of which we are very proud, I like to think and believe.

"And by the way; You're a clown!"

Your trademark send-off and my favorite! But Mr. CGW brings up a troubling point (LOL!):

"Buraq should stop equating clowns with mohammedans - it's just not right to denigrate clowns in that way!"

Are we showing insensitivity to real clowns here? I'm laughing too hard to type any more...

Apparently Somalians are being turned back at the South Sudan border, where they have been crossing northern Kenya to get to; they like the greenness of South Sudan. But there is already enough trouble in South Sudan from Somalians.

If I was in control, I would say that we will let them in temporarily, or for longer if they leave their religion at the door, because their religion will NOT be accommodated in any shape or form.

Then see how hungry they are...

It looks like Southern Sudanese might want to avoid the nasty consequences of "compassion", which revolve around jihad, either by force or by stealth.

Yes. The Ethiopians and Kenyans, who have a non-Muslim state with a numerical majority of non-Muslims but with large and increasingly-aggressive Muslim minority, are being swamped by 'starving Somalis' - ALL Muslims - by the **hundreds of thousands...and that influx of Muslims will, unless it is stopped, simply act to reinforce the aggression and push for power of the Muslims already present.

We saw what happened in Ivory Coast, where Muslim 'economic migrants' poured in by the hundreds of thousands from the Muslim-ruinated region to the north of it, and a country that was previously strongly-majority-non-Muslim (Christian and animist) has now been seized and is being ruled by...Muslims. To the severe detriment of the non-Muslims.

I hope Ethiopia and Kenya will take a good long look at what has happened to Ivory Coast, and draw the appropriate conclusions.

Here's the article that mentions the **hundreds of thousands** of Muslims flooding Ethiopia and Kenya (both of whom are already suffering famine stress, themselves, though being majority non-Muslim they are coping a bit better).

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-07-31/pope-calls-for-action-on-somalia-famine/2818286

The Al-Shebab are claiming to be unhappy about all those Muslims going into the Christian lands, but I am sure that they and others will find a way of exploiting that swelling of the Muslim presence in Ethiopia and Kenya.

"Shebab spokesman Sheikh Ali Mohamud Rage has claimed that local Muslims are adequately addressing the drought crisis, saying in a speech on rebel radio that there is no need for assistance from "an outside enemy or non-Muslims".

"He said the **hundreds of thousands of refugees who have been streaming across the Somali border into the mainly Christian countries of Ethiopia and Kenya** {my emphasis - dda} in search for food were being lured there "so that their faith can be destroyed".

Well, let's hope Mr Rage's worst fears are realized! I guess, PJG, we had better pray that the likes of Barnabas Fund and others will be on the case and that YHWH will do mighty deeds to crack those Muslims free of their mental and spiritual enslavement to the Death Cult. (I do know that in Kenya quite a few Somalis have been converting to Christianity...and they and those evangelising them have been attacked by Muslims, even by Muslims coming across the border from Somalia, because of this).
