Tucson police confirm: Yes, Hizballah is operating in Mexico

I'm no fan of Hizbollah and its ilk,and would cheer if some Israeli soldier came home from a raid with its leaders' heads in a bag. But I regret to report that Mexican gangsters don't need lessons from anybody in cruelty. After all, their own cultural DNA includes the old Huitzilopochtli cult,the Spanish Inquisition,a savage colonial caste system, utterly dysfunctional politics, leaders who were alternately idealistic guerrillas and mere rural bandits, and a deep-seated mistrust of all political and legal authority (my guess is that if I'd lived under the same kind of political authority, I'd be pretty mistrustful, too).

Mexican gangsters are active in the community where I teach, and I'd rather a lot of them were publicly executed after due process of law than deported to wreak more havoc on Pobre Mexico. And this comes from a guy who'd be willing to see certain illegal aliens simply slapped on the wrist and put on a path to some kind of regularized status.

A lot of our Mexican illegals are basically people who've voted with their feet against a rather corrupt and dysfunctional country. But the Mexican gangs--along with a lot of other immigrant gangs in America--are downright pathological and can't be reformed with anything short of the long drop and short tow or 9mm cerebral hemorrhage.

Hi Kepha. You have my sympathies for being a teacher in this troubled area. From what research I've done I think you are minimizing the situation when you refer to these guys as gangsters. They are way beyond that. Even the Mafia at its worst would not do what these guys do.

The US and Mexican governments have to work together to take these guys out and I mean thoroughly. Considering how corrupt the Mexican government is, that is an unlikely scenario.

It has the feel of something that might have some leftist backing and it certainly seems motivated towards insurrectionist ideas. At the very least it represents some sort of indoctrination towards civil disobedience possibly of the extreme kind.

One thing that has me worried is the out-and-out racist and propagandistic history found in the sample teaching materials for this course.

I have to wonder, after reading that bin Laden intended to focus on increasing racial tension in the US, whether there is a connection, albeit a tenuous one, between Muslim terrorists and this story.

It is certainly claimed that some elements of Mexican society are helping al Qaeda operatives to slip into the US. If true, these operatives may have lent a helping hand in designing the indoctrination methodologies used for the ethnic studies courses.

I would be the first to admit this presentation is far fetched; but, the tenor of the course materials has a familiar ring to it.

The foaming-at-the-mouth hatred in some of the course materials certainly has that all too familiar ring of the foaming-at-the-mouth hatred spoken in the mosques and taught in the schools in the Middle East.

The equation made between European colonialism and genocide has an all to familiar Islamic ring to it (leftist ring too).

The course material titled ‘Death to the Invader’ could have come right out of the Middle East.

Two lines from the sample student essay also calls to mind Muslim sentiments:

“We are slowly taking back Aztlan as our numbers grow. Soon we will be in the majority once again.”

Apparently some of this tripe even has an anti-Semitic underpinning to it.

I don’t have any direct proof of this but I base my assertion on comments made by a blogger on Glenn Beck’s Internet site.

The comment was made by someone with the id of DixieSusan and is directed towards the Glenn Beck program that brought the problem to my attention.

DixieSusan makes the following claim:

Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico, on June 23, 1997 announce the Mexican Constitutional amendment allowing for dual citizenship. He expressed it in English as follows (transcribed):
“I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders. And that Mexican migrants are an important part, a very important part of it".

This is the Greater Mexico doctrine copied essentually from Adolph Hitler's Grosse Deutchland idea. Your loyalty is to your Tribe, essentually a Hispanic Volkdom, and then to Mexico independent of whether your a US citizen or not. US citizens of Hispanic and Mexican origin are encouraged to apply for their Mexican citizenship. This affirms their part of the Hispanic Volkdom.

Mexico asserts that Mexico represents also Americans who formally renounced their Mexican citizenship to become naturalized U.S. citizens. Mexico encourages persons (1) born in the United States to Mexican parents; or (2) naturalized U.S. citizens, to apply for their dual Mexican citizenship. Mexico does this in spite of the exclusive United States allegiance requirement of US citizens either under (1) allegiance by birth; or (2) pledged United States allegiance as a Naturalized American.
