OT but has anyone else been watching The Life of Muhammad on BBC2? It's not entirely a hagiography but it comes close. Robert gets to say about six words in each episode and the rest is left to the likes of Tariq Ramadan and Karen Armstrong (she's kinda nutty!) to lead the cheers.

I was interested to see last night how presenter Rageh Omaar (himself a Muslim) would address the increasingly violent nature of Muhammad's mission in Medina. The massacre of the Banu Quraiza was dealt with, but explained away as a punishment for their "treachery".

To my uneducated eyes the series seems to skirt round a lot of problematic parts of the Qur'an and the Hadith. Robert, have you seen it yet? Would you care to comment?

I live a few locks from a Middle School. It is situated on a fairly busy street, and small traffic tie-ups are not uncommon when parents are picking up kids.

The angriest thing I have heard as school let out? A man who yelled that this was 'a street, not a parking lot'.

Why is this man still in business? Are there that many Muslims needing a cab to the welfare office? Do not do business with Muslims!

I find majority of taxi drivers in all western cities are Muslim,and most of them are arrogant.In New york,Los angles,canada,and in Minnisota- In some states,these taxi drivers demand foot wasing booths for them,and they will not allow blind people with seeing dogs as escorts becuase Mohamed hated dogs.They don't allow passengers carrying alcohol too. Saving the life of an innocent child from a psycho cab driver! he had a vehicle at his dispoal at the time, shouted a death threat... it's more than feasable that this guy could have used his car as a deadly weapon.

Here in Philly we had some black muslim convert talking about "we gots to kill the crackers! we gots to kill they white babies" Trust me, a good lawyer could get someone off if they took that guy out. His rant outside on the streets of Philly with a bullhorn have been viewed on youtube by countless people and it even made national news.

My babies are white. I take that as a very serious threat.

I have heard of no Jews exploding bombs in the U.K or shouting insults at fellow citizens or in any way making an unreasonable nuisance of themselves. However there are almost daily reports of Muslim offences, particularly against Jews, homosexuals, dog owners and young Muslims fleeing arranged marriages etc. Many of these reports involve Muslim taxi drivers. Is the problem Islam or the pressures of driving a taxi ? It can't really be islam can it..... after all Muhammad was a real gentleman.... we are reliably informed so in the BBC series, 'The Life of Muhammad'.
