Fort Hood jihad mass murderer still getting military paycheck, heroes who took him down fired

Travesty of justice, but perfectly in line with the dhimmi policies consistently followed by the U.S. Government and military.

"Did You Know? Accused Ft. Hood Gunman Is Still Getting Paycheck From the Government," by Madeleine Morgenstern in The Blaze, July 29 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

Accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan continues to draw a military paycheck from the government, the base commander said Wednesday.

Major Nidal Hasan, accused of the 2009 mass shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 dead, has retained his military rank and continues to get paychecks from the government, the base commander said Wednesday.

Lieutenant General Donald Campbell, Jr., the commander of Fort Hood, said Hasan’s confinement and medical expenses are also being paid for by the military, KXXV-TV reported. He receives weekly medical treatment and is occasionally transported to meet with his defense team....

"Officers who responded to 2009 Fort Hood shootings, hailed as heroes, losing their jobs," by Jeremy Schwartz in the American-Statesman, August 7 (thanks again to Pamela Geller):

FORT HOOD — The two Fort Hood police officers celebrated as heroes for responding first to the 2009 shooting massacre at this Army post were told recently they would lose their jobs as part of broader military budget cuts.

Kimberly Munley and Mark Todd, who is credited with taking down suspected shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan, have both left Fort Hood in advance of the termination of their jobs. Fort Hood officials said other civilian police officers on the post who were hired on a year-to-year basis will likewise not see their employment renewed.

"We all hold Fort Hood in our hearts and never thought we would be facing cutbacks," said Munley, who has taken an unpaid leave of absence....

Indeed.

Yep! It's the sign of the times, "Right is wrong and wrong is right" - Major Nidal Hasan, keeps receiving his paycheck, the un-believer's "poll tax". After all he was only doing his muslim duty. We ignored all the signs, paid for everything (medical training), and ultamitely his hate speaches!!! Only 13 dead this time, well we should count ourselves lucky.

Workers all over the US are losing their jobs, even those in the military, but this murder is cashing in. And yet we are silent, like lambs to the slaughter.

Fort Hood officials said other civilian police officers on the post who were hired on a year-to-year basis will likewise not see their employment renewed."

"We all hold Fort Hood in our hearts and never thought we would be facing cutbacks" said one of the officers who took down the shooter".

Two separate issues here, first, Nidal Hasan has not been convicted yet. That is why he's still getting paid. Second, we are bringing the troops back, and that is why those two police officers are not being re-hired. They are being replaced by military police.
Both of these situations are sad, but emotional blame placing is immature.

I believe situations like this virtually define the term "Orwellian".

After all is said and done... I would like to see mr nidal hasan... get wheeled up... put on a tie... have a long drop with a sudden stop. But I think we all know that ain't goin to happen.

You're right Major Nidal Hasan, has not been convicted yet, but that doesnot mean that he should still be receiving his payceck... Why? you may ask? He is being tried not because his is suppected as the murderer of 13 people, but because he was apprehended (shot while in the act of committing this terrorist act), while trying to continue his murdering spree. Is he inocent until proven guilty yes, but the evidence against him is over-whelming! His monies could and should be held until after the trial. If aquitted they could then be paid to him. As to paying for his defense, well we pay for the trials of other degenerates why not him. But pay him his salary, no!! We have already paid for his education, his hate lectures and in the lives of 13 inocent people.
Also, yes we are bringing the troops back and that is why the above mentioned military personell are losing their jobs, but the fact that Major Nidal Hasan is still being paid is a slap in the face of those who risks their own lives to save others and those who lost their lives at the major's hands.

The biggests question here is why is the military and the government is dragging their feet!!! The government and the media has all but buryied this incident.

I would possibly say they we're even happy that the "Norway" incident happened!! It took away from the second muslim who tried to kill military personell, but was stopped.

I want to see him tried and convicted!! yes, convicted - not found criminally insane, unable to stand trial ect.! He planned the deed and he carried it out, he should pay!!!!

As others have said, they can't stop his military pay until he's convicted, but... It doesn't matter. The military justice system is different from the civilian justices system. One of the ways it's different is that forfieture of pay is a common punishment. There's no chance he's going to be able to keep this money. Felony-level crimes always include "forfieture of all pay and allowances" as part of the sentencing.

Welcome to Kafka's world. When I read his novels as a student I never dreamt of them becoming reality, I always thought it was some absurd world, some nightmarish vision without any connection to the real world, although I always deemed it fascinating. What do we we learn? Crime does pay, as long as committed by a Muslim.

It's been almost 2 years since this "soldier of islam" and mass-murderer alahu-akbarred his way through 13 innocent people--and one unborn child. And he's inspired at least one copy-cat muslim that we know-of. How about we get his sorry ass on trial, already? One would almost think that there are folks trying to cover this over, who might want us to forget...

"Felony-level crimes always include "forfieture of all pay and allowances" as part of the sentencing."

That means 'all pay and allowances' after the date of the sentencing. All the money he's receiving now is his to keep.

The real question is--if sentenced to death--where he will be incarcerated after the sentencing. I'm sure he'll be discharged with a dishonorable discharge and will have to be housed somewhere during all of the years the appeals will take. And if he's sentenced to life in prison, the same housing question applies. One way or another, the taxpayer will pick up the tab for years.

As for now, as distastful as it seems, he is still a Major in the U.S. Army until after the court martial, as far as I know.

Can't NOT pay Nidal Hassan's salary while he is awaiting trial? OK, how about holding it in escrow to be paid to the two police officers when he IS convicted?

"OK, how about holding it in escrow to be paid to the two police officers when he IS convicted?"

Not to worry (much). If he is convicted (shame I have to add "If", but respect for our legal system demands it), then the court martial will slap a fine on him and get back what he doesn't spend on his lawyers.

Since he is currently in the stockade he can't spend it anyway. Right now his lawyers probably have effective control of his accounts.

"The real question is--if sentenced to death--where he will be incarcerated after the sentencing. I'm sure he'll be discharged with a dishonorable discharge and will have to be housed somewhere during all of the years the appeals will take. And if he's sentenced to life in prison, the same housing question applies. One way or another, the taxpayer will pick up the tab for years."

True, but are you sure about the dishonorable discharge? I would think that once discharged the military would have no legal authority over him, and so the military could not execute any sentence. I'm pretty sure that every serviceman executed by the U.S. military in past wars for capital offenses was not discharged but was still on active duty at the time.

are you sure

You might be right. He may have to lose all pay and allowances first, serve prison time, and then receive the BCD.

Or, they might discharge him to serve his time in a Federal Prison.

I don't know if there are any folks serving life sentences in Leavenworth.

???

It'll be interesting to watch how it ultimately does play out.

Travesty of justice, indeed. And perfectly illustrative of how, we, in the West, have fatally confused and obfuscated the concepts of law and justice. The *law* may say this pos is to be paid, but is it *justice* ? Not to anyone with a working brain cell.

Laws were created to protect the weak and defenceless, originally. They are now being used to enrich the manifestly evil and guilty. Common sense, and a sense of justice, have been flushed down the toilet.

Upon a conviction in a murder trial, the Uniform Code of Military Justice provides for one and only one automatic appeal to the Court of Military Appeals. If the CMA does not overturn, then the sentence is carried out as soon as possible.

Hassan would be held in confinement at Leavenworth Federal Prison during the appeal process and until his execution. As for a discharge being included in the punishment, that would not happen. The Army would consider his death to be his discharge.

"The Army would consider his death to be his discharge."

But, where would he be housed if the sentence is life, rather than death? Would he be held at Leavenworth for all the remaining years of his life? Would he serve his time in a civilian facility? And in that scenario, a discharge has to fit in there somewhere.

Or does he remain on active duty until death?

He'd be sent to Leavenworth if sentenced to life. Officers are not discharged, their commissions are stripped and all pay and benefits are stopped the day the CMA hands down their appeal decision. Military murder cases are almost never overturned by CMA.

Due process is being given to domestic global jihadists as if their acts of war were just regular crimes. That is what Obama wanted when he insisted war crimes tribunals be disbanded and prisoners of war be tried as U.S. citizens in New York.
