Seriously , I had absolutely no clue as to who this dude was. After doing some "research" at biased Wikepedia I got a better idea. I then searched out some book reviews and found the same leftard butt kissing as usual, except for this one review and this one sentence: "He takes apart the notion that we are in some inevitable struggle for world supremacy with muslims."

That summed it up for me fairly well. I would not believe anyone who denies that islam is striving for world domination despite their many proclamations that they are doing just that. When in doubt,I go to the source not some second hand hack who because he spent some time in the Middlle East believes himself to be an authority.

Cole does have academic credentials yet he says things that are utterly unbelievable, e.g. that the Crusaders' sack of Byzantium was a major factor in its decline. (Yes, Christians were far from unified, but no, the Arab and then the Turkish invasions had already badly weakened the Empire, and it was the Turks who completed the job. The Crusaders were a minor glitch.)

He also claimed that "Islamic terrorism" is an improper term because it implies that terrorism is exclusively Islamic. This is so false that that I simply don't believe that any native speaker of English believes this. Unless his political beliefs have actually warped his interpretation of English utterances, he's lying.
