Secretary of State Clinton says State Department will coordinate with OIC on legal ways to implement UN’s resolution criminalizing “defamation of religion”

Moving rapidly to criminalize telling the truth about how Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to encourage violence and supremacism. Free Speech Death Watch Alert, and an update on this story: “OIC/Islamophobia: OIC Observatory warned since 2009 against the growth of the extreme right in Europe, Washington plans to host a meeting on resolution opposing defamation of religions,” from the International Islamic News Agency, August 1 (thanks to all who sent this in):

JEDDAH, Ramadan 1/Aug 1 (IINA)-During the next few months, Washington plans to host a coordination meeting to discuss with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) how to implement resolution no. 16/18 on combating defamation of religions, and how to prevent stereotypes depicting religions and their followers; as well as disseminating religious tolerance, which has been endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council last March, in agreement with Western countries. The resolution was adopted after lengthy discussions held between the OIC and countries in which the phenomenon of Islamophobia is in the rise.

The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had announced the intention of the U.S. State Department to organize a coordination meeting during her participation in the meeting which she co-chaired with the OIC Secretary General, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in Istanbul on 15 July 2011. The meeting issued a joint statement emphasizing the dire need for the implementation of resolution 16/18.

According to informed sources in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the two sides, in addition to other European parties, will hold a number of specialized meetings of experts in law and religion in order to finalize the legal aspect on how to better implement the UN resolution.

The sources said that the upcoming meetings aim at developing a legal basis for the UN Human Rights Council’s resolution which help in enacting domestic laws for the countries involved in the issue, as well as formulating international laws preventing inciting hatred resulting from the continued defamation of religions.

On the other hand, the OIC Secretary General, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, stressed that the crime committed recently in Norway was a result of the rise of the extreme right in Europe and its easy mobility in political circles. He said that the OIC had warned several times against of what might be called institutionalization of the phenomenon of Islamophobia through the involvement of the European extreme right in government institutions and political action….

Hillary Clinton and her abominable deference to the OIC is bad enough. But bypassing the sovereign interests of We the People to legislate international fiats enacted by multinational elites and the Islamists whose backs they scratch is treasonous.

    Re: “…institutionalization of the phenomenon…”

But that is the antedote. Truthophobia is the real disease; Islam is the agent. I’m convinced after many years of second-guessing that Islam must be akin to a communicable mental disease, which needs at the very least a period of quarantine.

Islam’s unwilling participants need a time and an opportunity to heal. The time is now and the opportunity is becoming limited even in the free West. A loving God awaits defectors “with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; His love endures forever.”

So Secretary Hillary Quisling looks to the Undermining Nations to ensure lasting world peace and to enlarge her own prerogatives and prestige–well then, we need to give her and Barack Hussein the boot, to preserve our freedoms.

  4. says

Ekmeleddin Insaneglouglou’s “fight against ‘intolerance'” will certainly never fight for tolerance for Hindus, Sikhs and Christians living in Porkistan; or Coptic Christians in Egypt, or Iraqi Christians or Buddhists, Christians and Hindus in Bangladesh. Am I the only one who has noticed that Clinton and her misogynistic fascist buddies haven’t been called on that, so that their disgusting hypocrisy can be exposed for the whole world to see???

  5. says

It will be interesting, maybe even comical to see how this conference manages to tiptoe around all the “defamations” and “stereotyping” that saturate the pages of the Koran.

  6. says

This makes me really nervous. I was told, “When it comes, it will come fast, overnight” and I believe this is part of that plan to take over. If they are allowed to pass this “defamation” of religion law we are done, it will be over. Don’t think it can’t happen in the blink of an eye. We must do all we can to stop it. Lan Astaslem!

  7. says

Oh, yes–I forgot. We’re all “extremists” now. So when I speak of giving Our Illustrious Ones “the boot,” well. then, I probably have in mind an armed coup or something, right[wingnut]?

Au contraire, It’s the Ballot Box, Stupid.

Secretary of State Clinton says State Department will coordinate with OIC on legal ways to implement UN’s resolution.

Ah, Hillary, not so fast. It’s beyond time that the USA paid attention to that old Birch slogan, Get the US out of the UN, and the UN out of the US.

We pay 25% of the cost of this odious org. and we get 1 measly vote out of about 190 most of which are run by shamans, witch doctors or Muslims.

  9. says

This UN resolution and the First Amendment cannot be reconciled. Not in the least. And Hillary Clinton knows this or should know it. If she knows it, then she is, at least in spirit if not in law, betraying the Constitution. If she doesn’t know it, then her ignorance of America is so profound that she has no business representing the United States in foreign policy matters.

It’s possible, of course, this is all for show and Clinton is aware of this. Appease the Muslims again and all that rigmarole. But even here no dog and pony show should occur. Any American Secretary of State should convey in no uncertain terms to Muslim nations that real liberty exists in America and thus criticism, including severe criticism, of any religion is a Constitutional right. Not merely a privilige. Not merely an option. But a right.

  10. says

It’s amazing how our government is planning to collaborate with these Islamofascists to curb freedom of expression in the world. Washington, Jefferson and Adams are turning over in their graves!! What a shameful behavior of Secy. Clinton – then again she works for the Caliph O of US of A who is engineering this nonsense along with other Muslim states. One wonders if USA has become part of OIC!!!

  11. says

Let’s see if the wonderful ACLU takes up this attack on the First Amendment.

I believe Hitlery’s actions comprise “adhering to [our] Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” Can we hang her for treason now? Actually, I’d prefer hanging, drawing, and quartering, but regrettably that is out of fashion, now.

  12. says

With the one obama and Hitlery in office is more reason to make their regime is not re-elected. and one very quick way to reduce the US Debt, take out the State Department and the UN! save billions upon billions!

  13. says

The OIC has been squawking about this for a while…and now it begins. A full-out assault, under the guise of “human rights,” to extinguish our most cherished human right. And, their people on the “inside” (Barack, Hillary, et al) are facilitating this outrage–an outrage that only muslims would attempt.

It’s easy to see their problem, though. So many muslims have been allowed to colonize in the West that we’ve seen first-hand the bitter reality of just who they are, what they want, (read: demand) and what they’ll do to get it.
The only recourse left to the OIC is to criminalize the truth.

Not that this is going to fly anyway. It abrogates the Constitution! Which leads me to wonder: Does the Secretary of State take an oath to defend and protect that document? If so, that oath has already been violated and summary action to remove her from her post should follow…

    Cyprus occupation enters 37th year

    The Mercury 21 July 2011
    By Tony Phyrillas

On July 20, 1974, Turkey invaded Cyprus… The military invasion of Cyprus lasted a few weeks, but Turkey managed to drive out 200,000 Greek-Cypriots from their homes in the northern part of the island. One in three Cypriots became refugees in their own country.
More than 6,000 Greek-Cypriots (mostly civilians) were killed by the Turks and another 1,600 disappeared behind Turkish lines. Thirty-seven years later, Turkey still has not provided a full accounting of the whereabouts of 1,300 men, 116 women and 133 children trapped behind the advancing Turkish army.

Turkish troops set up what became known as the “Attila Line” and a Turkish occupation force of 40,000 troops have guarded the occupied territory since 1974, preventing Greek-Cypriots from returning to their ancestral homes. Turkey continues to occupy nearly 40 percent of Cyprus.
The Turkish regime set up a puppet state known as the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,” recognized by only one nation ” Turkey.

Over the past 37 years, more than 120,000 Muslim settlers have been brought from mainland Turkey to occupied Cyprus, forever changing the ethnic and religious balance of Cyprus, a Christian nation that once hosted the Apostle Paul, who preached on Cyprus during his first missionary journey. Paul also converted the Roman governor of Cyprus during his visit, establishing Cyprus as the first nation in the world to be governed by a Christian…..

“The sources said that the upcoming meetings aim at developing a legal basis for the UN Human Rights Council’s resolution …”

But of course there is absolutely no legal basis for implementing that resolution or anything close to it in the USA and Hilary knows it. IMO it’s not about to happen. A few decades down the road there might be a possibility with the demographic change to non-European American majorities happy to have “hate speech” laws here but not anytime in the near future. I suspect this is our Islamic infiltrator in the WH trying to look sympathetic to the Muslim world after all his Cairo promises.

I would dare them to try it – I think it would just wind up making adverse publicity for Muslims & Islam here. You don’t mess the 1st Amendment (even less than with Texas).

  25. says

Well as a follower of Jesus Christ, I accept the words of Jesus and Paul, John, Peter, Jude James, Matthew, Luke etc as recorded in the Bible. That means the Koran and the hadiths of Mohammed, infact Mohammed himself were demon inspired. Islam is ACTUALLY DEFAMING Christianity by its insistence that the Bible has been corrupted though NO proof exists! So there Hillary, reconcile that with the OIC!

  26. says

In Muslim-dominated countries Muslims have always practised, and still do practise, collective punishment against non-Muslim minority groups.

If just one dhimmi breaks, or is even suspected of having broken, or merely alleged [and such allegations seem very often to have been deliberately invented out of whole cloth, with malice aforethought] to have ‘broken the dhimma’, his ENTIRE COMMUNITY is held responsible, and frequently attacked in a full-scale pogrom.

so many Arab Muslims bolted out of what is now Israel, in 1947-49; because they were terrified that the Jews, obtaining the upper hand, would do to them, the Muslims, exactly as they, the Muslims, if victorious, would most assuredly have done to the Jews.

And that is why Muslims were terrified in immediately-post-9/11 USA; because they were expecting to be treated as they would have served a non-Muslim minority, if the positions had been reversed.

Muslims have ALWAYS practised collective and disproportionate ‘punishment’ upon non-Muslims, whether their non-Muslim neighbours, attacked during jihad, or their dhimmi populations. *They* don’t bother about distinguishing ‘lone nutcases’ or ‘a tiny minority of extremists’ from among the kuffar; all kuffar are held responsible for whatever any one kafir does.

When living among powerful non-Muslims, they *fear* the same thing might happen to themselves, and so they DEMAND that collective punishment should *not* be applied, that we must look *only* at the individual Muslim carrying out the terror raid, we *must* dissociate him from his community..

‘Don’t do to us what we would do to you!!!! Waah!’

  28. says

I have feared this ever since Robert stated in his interview with Michael Goren that such action can be expected within the year. Does this mean a vote to make that fascist UN/OIC resolution binding? Of course they know they have no legal basis for it and that it is unconstitutional — does anyone here really think they care about that? Or that it will stop them from trying to circumvent the First Amendment and impose this censorship? And if they restrict it to critics of Islam, how long will it take before anyone else notices and raises the alarm? I agree with when*pigs*fly — this is a clear sign that we are in very big trouble, and it must be fought tooth and nail.

  29. says

I found this troubling until I noticed the news is from an “Islamic” publication. Muslims lie so we can not be sure this is credible. This is also suspect given the first amendment protection of free speech including free speech about any and all religions.

  30. says

One thing I plan to do is send Hillary/Billary an email, care of the State Department, telling her that I’ll say what I please about Islam, Muslims, and anything else I choose to say — and I’ll see you in court, Babe, and you WILL be a named defendent. I suggest that anyone else here do the same. Swamp the State Department with challenges and defiance.

  31. says

So they want to criminalize the defamation of religion? Fine, they can start by arresting virtually every Moslem on the planet, because by calling Islam a religion they have defamed the whole idea of religion, and thus defamed every real religion on earth.

Then there are the “lengthy discussions held between the OIC and countries in which the phenomenon of Islamophobia is in the rise.” What countries might those be? I don’t know of any. But there are plenty of countries where real, justifiable fear of Islam — not a phobia, but a rational and legitimate fear based on the recent deeds and words of Moslems — is on the rise. And these Moslem attempts at intimidation only make those fears all the more real.

The article as it’s given here is CLEARLY off track … OR, the one below is …

I tend to believe that because Taseer’s daughter was involved, the one below is correct.

    This is from: http://www.humanrightsfirst.org/2011/07/20/combating-religious-intolerance-what-works/

Last week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton traveled to Turkey to meet with the head of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Secretary Clinton used the occasion to discuss implementation of resolution 1618 on combating religious intolerance, adopted by consensus at the U.N. Human Rights Council meeting in March.

The resolution was an important shift from efforts to prohibit “defamation of religions””in essence an international blasphemy code. The OIC had for the past decade supported such efforts, which have had serious consequences for fundamental rights to freedom of expression and belief. In March, OIC and other nations abandoned the polarizing language, instead working out a consensus resolution that focused on the rights of individuals, including Muslims, to be free from violence, discrimination and other forms of intolerance based on religious intolerance.

Human Rights First attended the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva when the resolution was passed, and invited Shehrbano Taseer, the daughter of the slain Punjab (Pakistan) Governor Salman Taseer, to accompany us for meetings with U.N. delegates to whom we explained the human consequences of the “defamation of religions” concept and its application at the national level in the form of blasphemy laws. It was Governor Taseer’s courageous opposition to those laws that lead to his assassination. Human Rights First has identified scores of similar cases that provide ample warning of the misuse of blasphemy laws at the national level. The study, Blasphemy Laws Exposed, documents over 70 such cases in 15 countries where the enforcement of blasphemy laws have resulted in death sentences and long prison terms as well as arbitrary detentions, and have sparked assaults, murders, and mob attacks.

Listen to FirstCast addressing the misuse of blasphemy laws in Pakistan and Human Rights First’s partnership with Shehrbano Taseer to combat a global blasphemy code.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Obama is a lawyer. Clinton is a lawyer. Even Biden is a lawyer. All three swore an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution. Their Islamophilia trumps that? Making pacts with the devil is highly inadvisable.

I can see someone testing this and a case (or cases) going to the Supreme Court. What a waste of time and money.

And, who’s going to censure Islamic “Infidelphobia,” which is worse and more rampant than so-called Islamophobia. One is the Will of allah; the other in large part a response to the exercise of that will.

Hilary is just an idiot who is too stupid to turn on the headlights when driving in the dark. She see’s about 3 feet in front of her ignorant face, but not much further.

  42. says

The reason they shifted out of the “defamation of religions” to an individual rights-based resolution is that they could never get that crap past the Constitution and Clinton would never have gone for it anyway.

This is better, but still leave a HUGE problem in that “hate speech” is a dangerous notion that leaves room for jailing people for a perceived insult. This resolution tries to solve that by limiting it to violence against a person. That’s a tangibility that should be prosecuted.

But hate speech laws are dangerous, because if “insult” is construed as hate speech, when insult is subjective, it’s real trouble.

  43. says

The key words in H Clinton’s statement are ‘legal ways’. For example, it would be ‘illegal’ to implement a ruling that breached an already existing commitment by the UN – the right of free speech as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, say. This affirms the protection of people’s rights as opposed to the protection of ‘ideas’ like the one the OIC is putting forward.

Changing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights would be a massive task, impossible I’d say, for the Islamic bloc at the UN.

Also, there would be many other legal hurdles.

Anyway, the OIC are clowns! And it’s my right to say that. And Islam intends to take over the world by violent means, if necessary. Al Qur’an says that. Not me.

  44. says

It is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to defame religion.

Think of where Christianity would be without all of the criticism it has endured throughout the centuries.

Christianity has been RAKED OVER THE COALS much more than Islam. There is ONE defaming movie of Islam (“Fitna”) and HUNDREDS of films that defame Christianity.

The best thing that ever happened to Christianity was to be mocked and ridiculed and defamed because that has allowed it to evolve and withstand the worst of criticism.

If you insulate a belief system from criticism, that’s a recipe for barbarism.

Oh wait, that’s what Islam is already!

Why can’t the Clintons just go away. They will sell America and Americans down the drain for a few dollars more. They have disgraced America in so many ways. If Hillary is so much for Islam let her convert as the burqas might be a slight improvement on her pants outfits – which are all the same cut – just different colors.

  48. says

I don’t think Hilary believes such a “resolution” has a chance to pass. She may be vile and devious, but she is not Pelosi – I mean stupid.
She is first of all an opportunist and she will say, or do what she deems expedient for promoting her image in the eyes of the moslem world. Her boss bowed deeply before the saudi king out of true respect for islam, she would do the same, but only if she believed it is politically advantageous.
The current US government is unprincipled both morally and politically and is best characterized by bunch of more and less clever opportunists following an ideology-inspired fool and feeding on the mess created by his delusions. While the fool believes he is on the right side of history by dismantling the traditional West the bunch doesn’t believe in anything except grabbing what is available before the possible catastrophe. Hillary is one of the most prominent of these looters.

Hillary Clinton sides with muslim agents who wish us harm. She should be retired and banned from any representation of The American People. When people like her side with muslims to silence the rest of us she reveals herself as our enemy!

  50. says

Well, the only defamation and persecution I see is muslims against Christians, or any other kind of infidel ‘kuffar’ – so maybe this would be a good thing – perhaps she is not a traitor, after all? Actually, can you really see this being fairly implemented? No! Another device with which to persecute any non-muslim – and that’s exactly how it will work. What planet is she on? Who is paying for this treachery against the West? And who is getting the money? Forget Murdoch – we have much more sinister corruption and bribery to eradicate! Get to it US Patriots!

  51. says

@ George. “Right, like we’re all going to roll over & play dead–and burn our Constitution–because Hillary the Dhimmi Queen wants to protect her little muslim playmates from the truth.”
I don’t think you should dismiss this attempt by the quranimals to stifle free speech in America so lightly. Consider the fact that the 9/11 hijackers and the underwear bomber were quranimals and who is being sexually molested by pervert Pistole’s TSA agents. Yes, peaceful Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists are molested on a daily basis whilst the quranimals get a free pass. This despite the fact that there are laws against unreasonable searches. Already one Supreme Court judge has openly said that the judicial system may have to consider curtailing some aspects of free speech pertaining to quranimals because it can lead to loss of life.

  54. says

This latest tactic by Hillary should come as NO surprise to those who understand that she, like Obama are students of Saul Alinsky’s, “Rules For Radicals”, and they BOTH want a
“One World Order”, that makes America answerable to the UN
& International Law. Hillary should be following our own Constitution, but like Obama, she doesn’t. What gives her the right to think she could “contain our freedom of speech”
well, the same right she wanted(& Obama)in controlling what information comes thru the internet. This folks, is ALL about controlling we citizens and our freedoms. The Dems see NO OTHER way of keeping Power, unless they control the masses. Perhaps Hillary(It takes a village) should be as concerned about the “Killing of Christians throughout the world, but like Obama, she is an Islamic/Muslim/Arab sympathizer, who doesn’t want these radical killers to be offended by those who DARE to speak the truth about their
CULT, THAT IS CALLED A RELIGION”-

  55. says

BTW: Along the lines of what I posted above, being ruled by International Law(Hillary & Obama’s desire) you will note
that today, some 16 International Nations have filed a law suit, OBJECTING TO ALABAMA, USA, IN THEIR OWN LAWSUIT THAT WAS FILED AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

FOLKS, DO YOU THINK THAT “OUR STATES OWE ANY EXPLANATION TO
THE REST OF THE WORLD IN HOW THEY CONDUCT LAWS OR BUSINESS IN EACH OF THE STATES?” WELL, APPARENTLY IT IS BEGINNING,
WITH THE GALL OF THESE COUNTRIES TELLING AMERICAN STATES WHAT LAWS THEY CAN USE, FILE, OR DEFEND. SO MUCH FOR OUR OWN CONSTITUTION, THAT THE PUKES IN THIS CORRUPT REGIME WANT
TO BYPASS, AND NOW, MAKING AMERICA ANSWERABLE TO OTHER COUNTRIES.
BTW: “THE PLAN TO SEND OUR TAX DOLLARS TO OTHER POOR NATIONS, FOR THE FAUX GLOBAL WARMING SCHEME, IS OBAMA’S PLAN
TO REDISTRIBUTE AMERICA’S WEALTH(WHATEVER MAY BE LEFT AFTER
HE RUINS THE NATION FINANCIALLY-LIKE SOROS’S PLAN FOR OVER
40 YRS.) THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE REMOVED PERMANENTLY FROM AMERICA, FOR OUR FUTURE IF WE ARE TO CONTINUE TO EXIST.

  56. says

Diplomacy is the gentle art of not overtly saying “No.” So long as Secretary Clinton remembers who she is supposed to be answerable to –the American people– and who she needs to finesse –foreign governments with agendas differing from the interests of the American people–, the weasel words attributed to her in this case (i.e. “State Department will coordinate with OIC on legal ways to implement UN’s resolution, etc.”) may not contain as much treachery as some on this site fear. Moreover, note that the byline is from the International Islamic News Service, which itself might suggest a bias in worldview and expectations for the planned meeting.

Nevertheless, I think that my spin on this matter is the best case scenario. That the US government doesn’t simply veto the UN resolution each and every time it comes around indicates minimally indicates a perception that it is important to mollify the Moslems. This perception may hold sway for reasons other than treachery; perhaps fear that forces could be brought to bear to further weaken the US economy? Who knows.

Whatever may be the case in this situation, we the citizens of the West must make our opinions known now while it’s still legal, albeit difficult, in preparation for a time when it may be both illegal and difficult to do so.

    Never, never give up.

I hope the U.N WILL BANN THE BOOK WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING blasphemous, and, war and hate mongering chapters&verses:
1)quran(9:29)Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

    2) quran(8:60)Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the Cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

    3) quran(8:65)O Prophet! rouse(incite) the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding.

    4) quran book(8:12)Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): “I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them.”

–oh bytheway, this verse is so notorious in stiring up jihadist all over the world, i my self used to be one of them, and i know what it feels like, but i can assure you, it has like the placebo effect among the terrorpacks all around the world, i still remember, we used to listen to it, cited by the immam of mekkan forbiden house of allah,”the haram” it has literally ruined my childhood life, and still drives alot of innocent young people into harm’s way, now it is grossly offensive to the sense of right or decency to hear that america is cooperating with OIC to create a shamefull shield under which the toxic book Quran, will keep spewing its deadly venom, generating more and more zombies and, misunderstanders of islam to deal with, but i have stil some faith and hope, that there stil remains a blanty of vigilant and conscious americans like ROBERT SPENCER&FRIENDS,who will withstand all the odds, to NOT let take place such a tragic and catastrophic precedent, as importing pakistan shari’a blasphemy laws into U.S.A.

This is what happens when a democracy surrenders its mandate from the people to the multilateralists: the UN becomes the de facto legislature (world government) and the dominant parties in the coalition, if you will, for example the IOC, get their nefarious agendas implemented after a hollow consultative process.

For an example of how successful this may be, look no further than the EU. An unfolding tragedy.

“Your comparison is ‘Apples and oranges'”
No it isn’t. It is a logical point. Bad examples of something don’t disqualify all members of that class. (I’m using ‘class’ in the philosophical sense, as with eg Bertrand Russell, not the social sense.)

re: “Bad religion does not mean all religion is bad”.
Let me try another tack: Bad religion does not mean that God does not exist.

Let me explain the relevence of this.
Secularism has abysmally failed to face the challenge from Islamic Jihad. The secular governments of the West’s response to Islam is cave-in after cave-in. Secular/atheist minded politicians have created multiculturism and appeasement upon which Islam thrives.
In short, Islam is going through secularist West like a hot knife through butter!
Historically it has been Catholic-Christian armies that have withstood Islam. Vienna and South France.
Had they not done so there would have been no Western culture. No art science music you name it. And USA would not exist.
Only when Europe rediscovers its judaeo-christian heritage will Western politicians grow a spine and instead of giving
Islam the red-carpet treatment as at present, they will show it the door.

It is frightening to think how immune these elected politicians are from the views and concerns of the people they supposedly represent. And they are particularly immune to the views of people who know Islam.
Before sleep last night I read a chapter of V.S. Naipaul’s “Among the Believers”, which I am re-reading after about 25 years. It is called “Killing History” and is about the Muslim conquest of Sind. I drifted off to sleep thinking of the Islamic custom of killing those who naively surrender, and also of the defeated rulers who do not trouble themselves to learn about their enemy, but fail to realise what is at stake, the propensity of Muslim invaders to mercilessly detroy what they perceive to be not useful to them and, despite what appears to be piety accompanied by an objective of converting the people they do not kill, their aim is to extract taxes, tribute, slaves and women, and let the conversions occur slowly but steadily thereafter.
First and foremost in the minds of the OIC is plunder; plunder serves the faith; and all our politicians can think of is their own careers instead of the civilization they are elected to represent – yet casually betray.
Sleep didn’t come easily with such thoughts; but then, I have a hard bed, and no doubt Hilary has a bed so comfortable that its softness lulls her away from any unease her actions of the day might give rise to.

It will be interesting, maybe even comical to see how this conference manages to tiptoe around all the “defamations” and “stereotyping” that saturate the pages of the Koran.

Maybe that’s why Hillary Clinton is participating in these talks, to ‘cleanse’ the violent language in the Koran?…. Oh… I was dreaming, sorry… Wake up kid!

Remember, we have a US Constituion and Bill of Rights, three branches of government that check and ‘balance’ each other, and we have the Supreme Court. I don’t think I’d be too alarmed by UN’s OIC sponsored 16/18 resolution. Frankly, I suspect all this will backfire on Islamic countries who are the worst violators of ‘defamation’ of all other religions except Islam, promoting their ‘religion’ so called by stealth and violence wherever their numbers allow. “Islam Watch” is really what this UN Conference should be all about. Bet you my last dollar it will be. No real worries. All their OIC crap will blow back on them.

    Hi Ron
I wonder if you might find the following helpful. It is a message given through a mystic in Medjugorje, Bosnia.

August 2, 2011. “Dear children; Today I call you to be born anew in prayer and through the Holy Spirit, to become a new people with my Son; a people who knows that if they have lost God, they have lost themselves; a people who knows that, with God, despite all sufferings and trials, they are secure and saved. I call you to gather into God’s family and to be strengthened with the Father’s strength. As individuals, my children, you cannot stop the evil that wants to begin to rule in this world and to destroy it. But, according to God’s will, all together, with my Son, you can change everything and heal the world. I call you to pray with all your heart for your shepherds, because my Son chose them. Thank you.”

Actually john spielman’s comment was about the Islamic claim that the Bible is corrupted.
This is not a matter of faith. Simply a matter of history.
To claim that a text has been altered there must be evidence.
Muslims have been notably unable to provide any evidence that the Biblical texts have been changed.
Discussion of the existence of God is another matter.

  79. says

“Or, since someone wants to sue Hillary Rodham Clinton, why don’t we all bring a class action suit against her for conspiracy to deprive us of our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and the press?”

The question is how does Clinton’s oath of office relate to her right – as any other U.S. citizen – to have the Constitution changed by amendment?

The Constitution contains an oath of office only for the president. For other officials, including members of Congress, that document specifies only that they “shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation to support this constitution.” In 1789, the First Congress reworked this requirement into a simple fourteen-word oath: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States.”

To ‘support the Constitution’ means not the exceed the limits specified in the Constitution, but the Constitution itself specify several procedures for changing it by amendment. For instance by popular amendment.

The notion of popular amendment comes from the conceptual framework of the Constitution. Its power derives from the people; it was adopted by the people; it functions at the behest of and for the benefit of the people. Given all this, if the people, as a whole, somehow demanded a change to the Constitution, should not the people be allowed to make such a change? As Wilson noted in 1787, “… the people may change the constitutions whenever and however they please. This is a right of which no positive institution can ever deprive them.”

Do you want to deprive Secretary Clinton of her Constitutional right to work for amending the Constitution?

  80. says

    Hi Gerald,

You’re right, that does sound a little flip, doesn’t it?
Let me put it another way:

If Hillary, or anyone else in the islamo-friendly Obama regime, thinks that Americans are going to sit quietly and watch our Constitution dismembered in deference to the tender sensitivities of our muslim enemies…if that’s what she thinks…then that’s the worst underestimation of the American people in our country’s history. That she could even entertain such a notion is testimony to just how out-of-touch she is with the American people, and with anything resembling reality in this world.

I hope that strikes the appropriate tone…

Clearly you’re a better man than I am. I see all religion as self-delusional. Some are more along the lines of ‘a carbon monoxide slide into intellectual numbness followed by a passive death’, others (yes, islam, I’m looking at you!) are more ‘skull smashed against concrete floor followed by a razor to the jugular’.

Yeah, I’m one of those Atheists……

gerard: Bad religion does not mean all religion is bad.
Does bad music mean all music is bad? Bad art? Bad anything?

In the case of religion (in my opinion) yes, it does. Your comparison is ‘Apples and oranges’, although comparing religion to art is more ‘Apples to barnacle encrusted flotsam’.

With music and art not only is it in the eye (or ear) of the beholder but it isn’t being forced on anyone. Nobody I know was forced to an art gallery or a rock concert. Ok, maybe a few unwilling partners/spouses but you get my point.

At JW we are all voicing opinions, generally in support of the fight against islam, rightfully so. But when people start to spout nonsense regarding ‘their superstition being superior to that other superstition’ I speak up. Rarely is it appreciated. That’s not going to stop me.

I appreciate Robert’s patience with my contrary posts but it confirms to me that whilst we have disagreements philosophically we can at least still discuss them relatively politely.

No one is being stoned, maimed or killed for being blasphemous. Not yet, anyway.

As always I appreciate arguments to the contrary and I’m thick skinned enough to not be upset when the name calling starts.

  84. says

gerard : Bad examples of something don’t disqualify all members of that class. (I’m using ‘class’ in the philosophical sense, as with eg Bertrand Russell, not the social sense.) AND Bad religion does not mean that God does not exist.

And I would counter that the opposite is also true: Just because you have a gentle, beneficent, loving group of worshipers doesn’t prove the existence of their deity of choice. You’re still making a supposition based on an originally false premise.

Secularism is the only defense against draconian religious fascism, by supporting one over the other we will embrace ‘frying pan to fire’ mode, nothing more. The reason christianity is muted is thanks to secularism. Secularists now have to focus on urinating more efficiently on the ugly flames of islam and disassociate ‘culture’ from political-religious gamesmanship that islam so efficiently plays.

I really appreciate you discussing this topic with me politely, it’s a rare thing on JW.

    Many thanks,

    Abu_Lahab
