Again and again since 9/11, the U.S. Government has engaged in "outreach" with Islamic supremacists and jihadists

In "The U.S. Government’s Failed History of Muslim Outreach Since 9/11" in Pajamas Media, September 11, Patrick Poole offers a superb summary of the U.S. Government's misguided, wrongheaded, politically correct attempts to reach out to Muslim groups -- attempts which invariably get them tied up with Islamic supremacists and even violent jihadists.

When President Obama hosted his annual iftar dinner in August to commemorate Ramadan, the list of invitees published by the White House was curiously missing the names of several attendees — all of whom are top leaders of organizations known to be purveyors of jihadist ideology. But it was not like they had crashed the party. One of the unlisted, Mohamed Magid, head of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Islamic Society of North America, was photographed by Reuters sitting at the front table only a few feet from the president as he spoke.
This was just the most recent episode in the federal government’s disastrous attempts at outreach to the Muslim community since the 9/11 attacks. With the release of President Obama’s new strategic plan to combat “violent extremism” by expanding outreach to these same terror-tied groups, the present administration seems intent on compounding the problems wrought by its predecessors.

Misguided outreach activities began long before 9/11, with the best example being the case of Abdurahman Alamoudi.

Alamoudi was the conduit through which much of the U.S. government’s outreach was pursued following the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Not only was he asked by the Clinton administration to help train and certify all Muslim military chaplains, his organization being the first to do so, but he also was appointed by the State Department in 1997 as a goodwill ambassador to the Middle East, making six taxpayer-funded trips. It is fair to say that during this period, Alamoudi was the most prominent and politically connected Muslim leader in America.

As we now know, Alamoudi was indicted in October 2003 for moving money on behalf of Libyan intelligence in an assassination plot targeting Saudi Prince (now King) Abdullah. The U.S. government has admitted that at the time he was being courted by Democrats and Republicans alike, he was a major fundraiser for al-Qaeda....

Yes; in America as in Britain, the mentality at the top in Government is:-

1.) Which group of Muslims should we apologise to next?

2.) How much money should we give them?

3.) Which Muslims can best explain Islam to us?

As Clinton's then Bush's goodwill ambassador to the Middle East Alamoudi was imam Rauf's predecessor. Using two men with ill-will against our country for good will toward Moslem countries that hate us is outrageous, not outreach.

Have these idiots never heard of background checks or are they so stupid and naive that they are incapable of recognizing evil when it's staring them in the face?! The damage being done to this country by this administration's incompetence and/or complicity is immeasurable, and the last administration wasn't much better when it comes to understanding islam and the enemy within.

Obama clearly believes we deserved the 9/11 attacks and as far as he's concerned, we are the guilty ones who must make amends to muslims. We have how many 'intelligence agencies' that are supposed to know what's going on in the world, yet nobody hears the vitriol being spewed by the clerics or sees the maniacal creatures rampaging in Cairo, Pakistan, and throughout the muslim world after Friday prayers? Nobody can take the time to study the doctrine of islam and grasp the pure hatred that is the essence of this Satanic creed? Surely a few of those brilliant minds have figured it out, haven't they? This has to be one of the most frustrating and dangerous dilemmas this country has ever faced---the inability of anyone in the federal government to face reality and deal with it. Are we going to allow our 'leaders' to sacrifice our nation in the name of muslim outreach and political correctness? It sure looks like it.

I would like to reach out to muslims in ways that the diversity/multi-culti worshipping freaks in Washington would not approve. Muslims are no better than any other immigrants who have voluntarily come to America, and deserve no special 'outreach' programs or privileges. They bring no special talents or skills that we desperately need but they bring plenty of baggage that is totally incompatible with our way of life. Maybe some day we will have the opportunity to elect a few people who understand the evil of islam and who can reverse this trend before it's too late. It is utterly insane to deliberately commit suicide via our destructive immigration policies and the belief that we are helpless in defending ourselves against islam because of the First Amendment. As many have already stated, our Constitution is not a suicide pact, at least it wasn't meant to be. Muslims multiply at an obscene and alarming rate; time is of the essence.

Why should anyone here be surprised by the stupidity and short-sightedness of especially Obama? He is out to destroy this country one of two ways, or both: bankrupt it and expand on Bush's authoritarian initiatives (the DHS and TSA, for example, neither of which we'd need if we eliminated states that sponsor terrorism)or to see it corroded by Islam. One can even go back to Reagan, who did nothing when Iran murdered some 200 Marines in Lebanon. We "grieved," instead. Obama is the heir of pragmatic U.S. policies over the last half century, and he is simply hammering the nails in the coffins his predecessors fashioned. And that includes Eisenhower, who forced Britain and France and Israel to surrender the Suez Canal to Nasser.

My friend, who was a survivor of Auschwitz pointed out to me some 15 years ago her concern about Arab and Muslims delusional Jew-hatred and its similarity to the state in Europe after Hitler came to power (1933). Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it.

The fools like Chomsky and J-street Jews together with so called "liberal" PC-fools are like Chamberlain who was trying to negotiate with Hitler to avoid the war in Europe. How do you negotiate peace with somebody who is plotting to cut your head off, while pretending to promote democracy? That is what Israel has to deal with Arabs who had now multiplied on the dole from UN while being forbidden to settle in Arab countries in which larger number of Jews had to flee with their lives and left lots of land and property which could be given to those still refugees after 63 years!

A trusting person—and so many of us are, to a suicidal degree—might find it rather disconcerting that so many of those "moderate" Muslims turn out to be anything but on closer inspection...
