These attacks are a rehearsal and a testing of the waters for an attempt at a full-blown re-enactment of the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran. "This action shows the state of anger and frustration the young Egyptian revolutionaries feel against Israel especially after the recent attacks on the Egyptian borders that led to the killing of Egyptian soldiers," Egyptian political analyst Nabil Abdel Fattah told Reuters.

"It is great that Egyptians say they will do something and actually do it," Egyptian film director and activist Khaled Youssef said, standing among the protesters outside the embassy.
"They said they will demolish the wall and they did ... the military council has to abide by the demands of the Egyptian people," he said.
Citing Foreign Ministry sources, Israel Radio said the ambassador was safely at his official residence and that Israel was in contact with Egypt, the United States and European powers about the incident.
"Police will not do anything to the protesters and they will be left unharmed to continue demolishing the wall," one security source said.
Protesters also demonstrated outside the Interior Ministry, near Tahrir Square, where some hurled stones at the building.

since you are Indian, have you ever heard of an Israeli writer, one Dr A Carlebach (or Karlebakh)?
He is famous for an article he wrote in a Hebrew journal in 1955 in which he minces no words about the destructive effects of Islam upon the souls of those who imbibe it, and upon those countries where Islam rules. He calls Islam 'the worst of all plagues'.
What is less well known is that toward the end of his life he visited India and rather fell in love with the place, and wrote a book about it (in Hebrew, alas for the rest of us; I don't know whether it's ever been translated into English - or into Hindi, or for that matter, Sanskrit - but if it hasn't perhaps it should be!) which sold like hot cakes in Israel, is still popular, and ended up as a sort of guide book for all the young Israelis who subsequently trotted off to India as tourists...or, later, as businesspeople, forging links between the two countries. I understand Carlebach's book involved a sympathetic and positive 'take' on Hindu / Indian culture and may have catalysed the rapprochement (at citizen level, and then slowly at higher levels) between India and Israel.
