Netanyahu: Palestinians want state without peace

“Since 9/11, militant Islam has slaughtered countless innocents. The most dangerous threat is that these fanatics arm themselves with nuclear weapons and this is precisely what Iran is trying to do. Can you imagine that man [Ahmadinejad] armed with nuclear weapons?”

"Netanyahu: Palestinians want state without peace," from Ynet News, September 23 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

The Palestinians should recognize Israel as the Jewish state and make peace with it, before seeking a state of their own, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the UN General Assembly Friday.

“Israel has extended its hand in peace from the moment it was established,” offering Israel’s response to a fiery anti-Israel speech delivered by the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas earlier.

Netanyahu said that he extended his hand to the Arab nations of the Middle East “on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people,” and mostly to the Palestinian people, “with whom we seek a just and lasting peace.”

“I came here to speak the truth. The truth is that Israel wants peace. The truth is that I want peace. The truth is that Israel wants peace with the Palestinians, but they want a state without peace, and the truth is you shouldn’t let that happen,” he said. “The Palestinian should first make peace with Israel and then get their state. After peace is signed, Israel won’t be the last country to accept a Palestinian state – we will be the first.”

'Recognize Jewish state'

Declaring that Israel is a Jewish state, Netanyahu said: “We don’t want the Palestinian to change the Jewish character of the state. We want them to give up the fantasy of flooding Israel with millions of Palestinians. “

The prime minister added that settlements were not the main obstacle to peace, saying: “The core of the conflict is not the settlement, the settlements is a result of the conflict. The core of the conflict is the refusal of the Palestinians to recognize a Jewish state in any border.”

“Recognize the Jewish state and make peace with us,” he said, referring to Palestinian President Abbas.

Referring to the terrorism threat faced by Israel, the PM said: “Thousand of missiles have already rained down on our cities. So you might understand why Israelis rightfully ask what’s preventing it from happening again.”

“Would any of you bring danger so close to your cities, to your families? Would you act so recklessly with the life of your families?” he said.

“Since 9/11, militant Islam has slaughtered countless innocents. The most dangerous threat is that these fanatics arm themselves with nuclear weapons and this is precisely what Iran is trying to do. Can you imagine that man armed with nuclear weapons?” Netanyahu added, referring to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

BENJAMIN NETANYAHU: THE WORLD'S GREATEST STATESMAN AND LEADER

He just can't stop giving Churchillian speeches.

"The core of the conflict is the refusal of the Palestinians to recognize a Jewish state in any border.” Netanyahu

And at the core of the core is Al Qur'an!

The truth is that Israel wants peace with the Palestinians, but they want a state without peace
................................

Indeed they do. And what's the end result of that state without peace, as they see it? Why, the destruction of the State of Israel:

"Palestinians handing out maps at UN that erase all of Israel"

Here's one of the appalling "Palestinian" maps without Israel:

*Projection*. Israel has a significant non-Jewish population—whereas there have been calls for "Palestine" to be entirely Judenrein:

"Palestinian ambassador to U.S. repeats call for Jew-free Palestinian state"

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/09/palestinian-ambassador-to-us-repeats-call-for-jew-free-palestinian-state.html

These Palestinian morons won't recognize Israel and they have audacity to come to UN to demand a Palestinian state!! And this clown's speech is applauded by those present in the auditorium. Do these clowns have any decency and sense of justice to applaud Abbas? Not!

Next time these idiots, Palestinians and their supporters, come to US asking for aid with their begging arms and bowl stretched out, we should just put a lump of coal in it!! Why don't they ever go to the rich Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, or Emirates, Quwait, etc. But no, they always run to US. Truly they have no shame - just the audacity of begging.

Abbas had the HIDE to claim that the Jewish state is 'ethnically cleansing' Jerusalem.

Talk about projection and turnspeak.

I have read John Roy Carlson's 'Cairo to Damascus'. I recommend it to anyone here who has not yet read it.

In that book one can read what the Jordanian Arab Muslims - with the full connivance and assistance of the British, in particular one John Glubb, 'Pasha' - did when they took the Old City of Jerusalem, and its ancient Jewish Quarter (which had no less than 58 synagogues) in 1948. Carlson was *there*. He saw it.

**Every single Jew in that quarter, where Jews had lived since at least 1200, was rounded up and driven out, in the clothes they stood up in.** Had the British Islamophile soldier Glubb Pasha not been in charge it is more than likely that every Jew caught in the Old City would have been butchered, with the usual Arab Muslim orgies of raping and torturing and mutilating; but that would have made bad publicity back home in Britain except amongst the most virulently antisemitic Arabophiles/ Islamophiles, so the Jews were allowed to get out alive, into the Israeli-held part of Jerusalem. And all other Jewish communities within the parts of Judea and Samaria seized by the Jordanian Muslims - most notably a Jewish farming village called Gush Etzion - were destroyed, their inhabitants either killed or driven out, and everything they had built either looted or simply wrecked. John Roy Carlson - who was pretending to be an American Nazi sympathiser and Islamophile, so as to see what the Muslims were really up to - visited some of those emptied-out Jewish homes and settlements that had been systematically, vindictively trashed. Books ripped up and furnishings broken.

And then, having driven out every last Jew, the triumphant Muslims looted the Jewish homes and businesses in the Jewish Quarter which they had just seized. There were 58 synagogues in the Old City, in what is now primly called, by our MSM, 'Arab East Jerusalem'; they were dynamited. And Jewish gravestones from the historic Mount of Olives synagogue, were **used to line latrines**. And not one Jew from anywhere was permitted into the Old City to visit the Kotel, not from 1948 to 1967. (And one might also note that during the period of Jordanian Muslim rule over Judea, Samaria and the Old City of Jerusalem - which included the 'Christian Quarter' and the 'Armenian Quarter' as well as the 'Jewish Quarter' - the *Christian* population of those places dropped by about half). It is **Muslims** who are the worst and most obsessive 'ethnic cleansers' on the planet.

Frankly, I think when the Israelis took the Old City back in 1967, the Al Aqsa mosque and Dome of the Rock should have been dynamited, or else neatly dismantled, stone by stone, and deposited just over the Jordanian border...let the Muslims reassemble them in dar al Islam, if they were able. And the Muslims then served notice that, given that from 1267 to 1967 not one Jew was ever allowed, by Muslims, inside the ancient Hebrew sacred site which is the Cave of Machpelah burial site of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in Hebron, that henceforward not one Muslim would be permitted anywhere near the Temple Mount..to which Sacred Site Islam has not one skerrick of any rational, historical claim in the first place.

Perhaps Bibi's best public speech thus far in his political career. But he's wasting his breath speaking before the UNGA audience.

I hope this doesn't sound too heretical on the JW website, but I've long been a supporter of the two-state solution. I also believe that Obama's speech at the UN and his indication that the US would veto the PA's bid in the UNSC for statehood status essentially burned his bridges with the Islamist extremists, and if anything swung too far over in the other direction. (I know he did this because he is worried about Jewish votes in NY, FL, IL (where I live) and elsewhere, but still). That plus the Obama Adm.'s public and vocal exposure of the Pak. govt.'s involvement in the jihadist attack on the US embassy in Islamabad has made a shambles of the administration's 2009-proclaimed "outreach" to Muslims. After hamhandedly pressuring Netanyahu through 2009 and 2010 in a way that did not accomplish American goals and alienated the Israeli govt., now the admin. has gone far in the opposite direction (I myself believe the US should abstain on the Pal. statehood bid, both in the GA and the SC, rather than vote "no" in the former and veto in the latter). I also believe that Netanyahu and his govt. have been woefully lacking in imagination and initiative in offering anything in peace talks with the PA.

All of this is not to excuse Abbas and PA for their ongoing duplicity about not recognizing Israel as a majority-Jewish nation, their fomenting of anti-Semitic and Israel-denying educational materials and propaganda, etc. But I'm with Netanyahu's predecessor Olmert (hardly a leftist or an enabler of jihadism!) that Israel has to find a formula for a peace deal (it will probably involve giving up most of the WB) and now is the time.

I realize that this view is counter to that of a number of other regular commenters on this website. I hope this doesn't get me denounced as a JINO, a dhimmi, a leftist shill, or some other term. I'm a moderate centrist in my opinion

"They would repair, as though it were nought, the injury to my people: "Peace, peace!" they say, though there is no peace." Jeremiah 6:14

The "Palestinian" cause wants all of Israel, either conquered completely or destroyed in jihad. Their actions say that more than their false words of "peace." In Islam, peace agreements are hudna, temporary cease-fires to allow Muslims to regroup and gather strength to conquer. In this case, to regroup the political arms of the global jihad in the UN, the media, and in relations with the U.S., and to marshal the resources of the global jihad. And just because they have not yet used nuclear weapons does not mean they don't have them, the global jihad must unite first and be strong enough to stop worldwide opposition. For now, they settle for terror and relentless destruction.

"Netanyahu: Palestinians want state without peace," More to the point would be: Palestinians want state without Israel. Their "two stage (not two state) solution".

Don't worry, macck. I'm a two-state supporter myself, PROVIDED that both states really want peace. In the meantime, I'm pro-Israel, even though while Evangelical, I do not hold to the Dispensationalist persuasion (I see that commmunity gathered around Messiah, both Jews and Gentiles, as the true Chosen People).

Further, having worked on refugee and migration affairs, I have a lot of respect for Israel's absorption of the Mizrahi Jews, and little save contempt, and even anger, for the Arab states--and now the proposed Falastin state--keeping those displaced from the 1948 conflict and their descendants as stateless "refugees". It is shameful that the international community has not pointedly raised this issue. And, whenever anyone gets weepy over the plight of the Falastin Arab refugees, I will answer that my own many-times-accursed America has given meaningful citizenship to more Falastin Arabs and their descendants than any ten Arabic-speaking states (excluding Jordan and Israel itself) put together.

I also note that my own country, the USA, found out long ago that scrapping former points of our "Manifest Destiny" doctrine accepting the existence of Canada did not hurt our development or independence one bit. Indeed, we're probably a lot better off having a reliable neighbor than a dozen disgruntled territories.

Frankly, had the Arabs accepted the 1947 Partition Plan, the Middle East at this point would probably be a flourishing center of civilization; and while there probably would have been some transfer of populations, there would've been nothing so drastic as what happened in the displacement of the Falastin Arabs or in the uprooting of the Mizrahi Jews. But, that's only a "what if?" of history. Since reading up a bit on Islamic theology, I also see how that could not have been.

An article that goes to the heart of the matter, summing up in brief compass a mountain of sources both historical and textual.

"Why Islam Will Never Accept the State of Israel"

By Steven Simpson, THE AMERICAN THINKER June 30 2010.

A good one to read and re-read till all the main points and key passages from Islamic texts are firmly in mind and fully understood.
