The above video is more or less where Turkey wants Israel, but Israel isn't playing Archie to Turkey's Otto. More on this story. "Turkey tells Israeli diplomats to leave," by Suzan Fraser for the Associated Press, September 5:
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey deepened its rift with Israel on Monday by vowing to work for the recognition of a Palestinian state at the United Nations and by saying it has notified high-level Israeli diplomats they have two days to leave the country. Late last week, Turkey expelled the Israeli ambassador after Israel refused to apologize for the botched Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound protest flotilla that killed nine pro-Palestinian activists last year. Israel has expressed regret for the loss of lives.
A U.N. report released last week called the Israeli raid "excessive and unreasonable," but also said Turkey and flotilla organizers contributed to the deaths.
The dispute has brought relations between the once-close allies to the verge of collapse, and injected a new element of instability into an already volatile region.
Turkey said Monday it has notified Ella Aphek, the Israeli Embassy's deputy head of mission, that she and other senior Israeli diplomats must leave by Wednesday now that Turkey has decided to downgrade its diplomatic ties with Israel to the level of second secretary.
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Monday that Turkey will work to lobby other nations "until we obtain the highest number of votes" for a plan by Palestinians to seek recognition as a state at annual meeting of world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly beginning on Sept. 20.
On Saturday, Davutoglu said Turkey would start procedures to challenge Israel's naval blockade of Gaza at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands.
The United States has indicated it will veto any Palestinian statehood vote in the absence of a negotiated Israeli-Palestinian peace deal.
Palestinians hope a U.N. vote in their favor would isolate Israel and put heavy pressure on the Israelis to withdraw from captured territories.
That's exactly right. They want a land grab, a do-over for the wars they and the Arab states surrounding Israel could not win.
OT
I hope Robert is feeling better, Marisol. THanks for holding the fort.
I'm happy to remind other Aussie JWers that the usually dhimmi ABC-TV is tonight running a program, Foreign Correspondent' at 8 pm featuring Geert Wilders. It could be good if they let him speak. The trailer squarely shows Geert saying 'our culture is superior to Islamic culture.'
Don't miss it.
The war drums of Israel's enemies are starting to beat louder (this, the actions of Egypt and Libya, the Palestinian push for statehood). I hope she's getting ready for the showdown when it comes. (I hope WE are ready, too, meaning we emphatically block a Palestinian bid for UN recognition, and stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel during the ensuing violence directed at her from the Muslim world.)
Israel should move immediately to further strengthen relations with Greece, Cyprus, Romania, and Bulgaria in the domains of tourism, economic development, military, and diplomacy. Since Israel no longer has to cowotow to the Turkish denial of its genocide against the Armenians, Israelis should no longer feel constrained to be quiet on this issue, and strengthen ties to the Republic of Armenia.
Hopefully, American Jews with political pull will now feel no obligation to play into the hands of those who feel they need to appease Turkey, and stand out for full recognition of Armenian genocide awareness, symbolic as it is.
When are we going to throw the Turko-Nazis out of NATO? I guess with the cowardly Obummer admin. in office , not any time soon.
Boycott Turkey.
And let's cut relations and aid too while we're at it.
Our (America's), relationship with Israel should be one of "SUPPORT," since Israel is the only democracy in the middle east, and a true "friend" to America.
The Obama administration has done everything and anything to destroy our ties/relationship with Israel. The treatment of Israel by President Obama is a "DISGRACE".
The fact that the United States has (is now), indicating it will veto any Palestinian statehood vote in the absence of a negotiated Israeli-Palestinian peace deal is of small consequence.
Israel, should not have been forced into this position by the United States or anyone. Israel should not give up the land it won, because of "Islamic" invasion and war. This land was bought with Israeli blood, because of muslim/Islamic arrogance and hatred.
Jerseulem is the capital of Israel!! The United States should long ago have "honored" Israel with this recognition.
We (United States), should not force Israel to compromise Israel's safety or sovereignity.
SUPPORT ISRAEL!! OUR FRIEND!! AND ALLI
OT, but this is very important for all Aussie jihadwatchers -
**Geert Wilders may be coming to Australia**.
If so, Senator Cory Bernardi (one of our more Islamosavvy Federal politicians) may be helping arrange the visit for him.
See this piece in the ABC which is shrieking with outrage at the very idea.

Geert Wilders coming to Australia
As of today, Tuesday 6 September, *comments* are open to the article: I advise all who feel inclined, to hop on over ASAP and upset some applecarts.
I would also advise all Aussie jihadwatchers to go to the Parliamentary website, find Senator Bernardi, and contact him to let him know that if he really is intending to sponsor and help organise a Wilders visit to Australia, that this is a BRILLIANT idea.
Tell him that if Mr Wilders comes to *your* home city/ town you will be there with bells on - prepared to pay a hefty ticket price to hear him speak, and waving a printed-off-onto-DVD disk of 'Fitna', or a downloaded-and-printed paper copy of one of his best speeches, for Mr Wilders to autograph.
I will encourage Senator Bernardi to make sure that the Wilders tour Down Under includes a visit to take hot chocolate in at least one of our Max Brenner chocolate shops, so as to demonstrate defiance of the despicable BDS campaign against Israel which has been targeting these shops of late.
Ah,Turkey,Turkey,Turkey,a country with no moral prestige whatever that:
1.Refuses to recognize the Armenian,Assyrian and Greek genocides of the Young Turks
2.That invaded Cyprus, threw out a mass of Greeks and imported a flood of Turks into confiscated homes.
Barbarity Incarnate. It makes me sick.We should all know about its cruel and evil history.READ:

As an aside, I don't think Turkey would be as emboldened as it is to treat with Israel as wretchedly as it has were it not for the fact that America has a President right now who oozes weakness and indecision in foreign affairs. Obama's timidity respecting any condemnation (he didn't want to meddle remember) of the fraudulent and thuggish Iranian election of 2009, his selling the Czechs and Poles down the river on missile defense and his non-support support for Israel are just three examples of how America's current Chief Executive conveys to the authoritarians of the world that they can pretty much have their way of things while he is in the Oval Office. The killing of bin Laden is an exception to this rule and so confirms it, not refutes it.
Yes, several reasons are operational respecting why Turkey is treating Israel more and more like a pariah. I am simply positing one of them.
I asked this in a previous post about this but it should be asked here too. It is really just a one word question. WHY?
The flotilla incident was a ridiculously minor incident. Why is Turkey milking it?
Are they doubling down because Goldstone retracted what he said?
Are they castigating Israel only in order to bolster ties with Egypt? Or are they Posturing for the sake of Arabic public opinion?
Is this for prestige or to improve their standing in the Arab world in order to get trade deals?
Are they just getting Israel out of Turkey because the leadership is muslim brotherhood?
Do they intend to launch an actual war in conjunction with Egypt?
If they are intending to launch a war could that be the real reason the turks have been locking up the secularist army personel?
Or are they merely ginning up bad relations with Israel in order to create a unifying enemy so as to consolodate their totalitarian rule?
"the botched Israeli raid" Nice objectivity AP.
That sentance implies Israeli aggression AND incompetance. However the "raid" was not botched. This did not happen on any other boat that has been similarly intercepted and boarded. It was incited by the hamas activists on the boat. They knew exactly what would happen if they attacked soldiers. Interesting how AP chose to leave that little fact out.
"killed nine pro-Palestinian activists" They weren't Pro Palestinian. They were Pro Hamas. Also remember that in reporting about the conflict, news outlets like AP and Reuters refer to arabs as "being killed" but refer to Israelis as "having died". Implying aggression in the former but unlucky happenstance in the other.
The article did not say they were killed in self defence even though there has been definitive documentary proof that this is what happened.
"A U.N. report released last week called the Israeli raid "excessive and unreasonable," but also said Turkey and flotilla organizers contributed to the deaths."
No Mention that Goldstone publicly retracted what he said in the original report.
"Israelis to withdraw from captured territories."
The correct term is disputed. The reporter knows this. Yet says captured. Occupied would give him away as a hamas sympathiser so he uses a different word that has the same implications.
In a Reuters piece about a bomb placed at an Israeli bus stop was the sentance "in what Isreal referes to as terrorism." There was no byline so I tracked the story down in various news outlets untill I found the authors. And there was one name amongst the 6 that, shall we say, was not like the others.
I contacted the NY times and complained about them using a newswire service that had chosen to abandon proffesional objectivity.
I suggest readers do the same in regards to this AP story.
Of course, the other meaning of 'turkey' is a dismal failure. Seems appropriate here.
DUMBLEDORESARMY :
I clicked that address and got the article about Wilders coming to Australia , and read that huge list of comments. WHAT is the matter with those people ? Such negativity ! Are they really that scared of Wilders ? It's either ignorance or prejudice, because if they really understood his mission and what kind of person he is they wouldn't be so sour. And they always assume he is "far-right" or a complete bigot. I feel so bad about that. Both the anti-Islam warriors of the internet, the brave souls who carry his type of message through the conference rooms, the churches etc.,sometimes the media (if lucky ) and Mr. Wilders himself must feel that hurt. After all the efforts is THIS what a society in Australia ( or any other country )gives us ? Hell, it's as if we are ALL martyrs . No kidding -we try hard, and get little reward it seems.
Thanks for your upbeat attitude and enthusiastic efforts ; I hope Australia does get a visit from Wilders- without too much impassioned protest. (I was going to say without heads rolling but for more than one reason that remark might not set right --not unless you are into black humor )
I will go to that parliamentary site and try to get Bernardi so I can encourage him about having enough faith in a true hero to bring him to Australia.
BYW : It is Geert Wilders BIRTHDAY TODAY (Sept. 6th ) I think he's 47 . HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEERT --you have been a light in the dark.
I wonder if he ever reads these websites ? AND where is an article featuring his speech at Berlin ? Nothing ? WHY ?
Anybody know anything ?
No wonder the Kurds despise the Turks! Let's 'friend' the Kurds! They're bad...but not as bad!
Wellington wrtoe:

...............................
Actually, it is not just that Obama is weak and indecisive—bad enough, to be sure.
But he has also been overtly hostile to Israel, and has given any number of slights to Israeli diplomats and the Prime Minister.
This has not gone unnoticed by Israels homicidal enemies in Dar-al-Islam—you can be sure of that.
