Turkish president joins in PM's rhetoric, calls Israel an "ungrateful burden"

This ongoing episode should give Turkey's EU application special priority to be transferred to the "round file."

Turkish Temper Tantrum Update. "Turkish president calls Israel 'ungrateful burden'," from the Jerusalem Post, September 9:

Turkish President Abdullah Gül said on Thursday that Israel is an ungrateful burden to its allies, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News reported.
On his way to a multicultural conference in Russia, Gül accused Israel of offering to apologize four times for the Mavi Marmara incident, but then reneging each time.

Israel's deputy foreign minister said in this report that the Turkish side was "not ready for a compromise and kept raising the threshold."

According to the Turkish president, Israel should consider an "honorable peace" with its Arab neighbors and stop acting as if the world, especially Turkey, owes it favors, the report said.
He also criticized what he called Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's inability to receive as warm a welcome to the his own Knesset as he does when he speaks before the American Congress, referring to a speech he gave in the United States earlier in the summer.
The Turkish president's comments came after on Thursday he stated that Turkey never harassed Israeli tourists at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport, despite reports that some 40 passengers were singled out and underwent more stringent security procedures than other travelers.
Gül said that the deterioration of ties between Ankara and Jerusalem was not being directed towards "individuals."
Speaking to pan-Arab Al-Arabiya, Gül also restated Turkish plans to head to the International Criminal Court to determine the legality of the blockade on the Gaza Strip adding that Ankara rejected the UN-backed Palmer report which legitimized the IDF blockade.

Turkish President Abdullah Gül ........

Abdullah translated from the Arabic means 'slave of allah'. Now, would you really expect a slave of allah to say something nice about Israel?

Jews have always, always, pulled their own weight, and then some.

Muslims, throughout all of their history, and continuing to this day, have always been the parasite, living by theft off of the productive efforts of others.

For this schmuck to dare call Israel both an ingrate and a burden is, to use the phrase, Chutzpah.

Muslim and their Islam suck.

We are watching the beginning of the end of Turkey.

When it's over they should split it up between Armenia and Greece.

"Ungrateful burden"

Sounds like a good description....of Turkey.

Can we kick them out of NATO anytime soon?

When will non Muslim countries ever realize that countries like Turkey hate the Jews because the Koran has taught them to.

Nothing has changed because the words in the Koran are considered pure, because they are the words of Allah and cannot be abrogated for all time.

Anyone who believes otherwise is diluting themselves of the overwhelming truth that raises its ugly head across the Islamic states everyday.

Heavey sits Israel on the soul of Islam.

The end of the Turkish Republic...Do you think so, Istanbul_Chick?

If Erdogan follows through on his threat to send the Turkish Navy to Gaza, it means war. That seems crazy, but Erdogan keeps escalating his threats.

I would not expect such a war to be limited to sea and air action. Israel and Turkey have no mutual land border. The Turks have modest sealift capacity, so the only way for the Turkish Army to reach Israel is by way of Syria.

Would the Turks come to Syria as allies? Or as 'liberators' from the Assad dictatorship? Would the Turks come to Lebanon, too?

None of Turkey's neighbors wants a war, except possibly the Kurds. The Kurds would likely ethnically cleanse any territory they took over. Why would the Greeks or the Armenians jump into this war? What would they do with all those Muslim Turks?

Your thoughts?

The Arab World should consider an "honorable peace" with Israel and stop acting as if the world, especially Israel, owes it favors.

There, Mr. Gul, fixed for ya.

Why aren't you filthy Jews grateful that we have refrained from murdering you outright for the past several decades?

Weren't the Kurds the reason for Turkey's about face on the eve of the Iraq invasion? They were supposedly worried about Kurds in Turkey joining up with those in Iraq.
How ironic. Erdogan starts a war to destroy Israel and in the process ends up splitting up Turkey.
What would all its neighbors do? Don't most of them have Kurdish populations? Which is more important to them - destroying Israel or maintaining their own territorial integrity?
Nations that are currently little more than a collection of tribes will ultimately revert to tribalism. How many new countries will be born?

Without a doubt dear Elderly/Zionist, Turkey is led by a fool. More power to Israel, God will keep you. You may be hated by some countries, but you are not alone. Israel shows great restraint and courage in dealing with her enemies. The time may be coming soon where she might not be able to respond so humanely. Nevertheless, she needs her supporters. Durban III is a joke, I was however very ashamed that only 9 countries are boycotting this farce. May it be, that when it really counts, she will have more "civilized" nations in her corner.

Islamic states of Turkey and Egypt attempt to isolate Israel by increasing their military and political pressure.

As much as i recall, Israel never sent any flotillas to Cyprus or Kurds. Israel shoud demand an apology from Turkey for creating this flotilla episode in the first place.

Turkey dosn't agree with the palmer report, and wants to test the legality of the blockade. Just more Lawfare. The blockade IS legle. It has to be if the OIC run UN can't find a way call it illegal, and i bet they tried very hard.

Correction : they did not refrain, they haven't succeeded... ;-)

"Gül also restated Turkish plans to head to the International Criminal Court to determine the legality of the blockade on the Gaza Strip adding that Ankara rejected the UN-backed Palmer report which legitimized the IDF blockade."

Yep, just shop around until you find an anti-Semitic court that agrees with you then use the ruling as legal justification to attack Israel. Shouldn't be too hard to find such a court. Why not ask OIC countries for recommendations of pliant courts? They ought to be able to come up with one that isn't tainted by disgusting kuffar secular notions about international laws and obligations.

May I make a suggestion?
Change your name to "Constantinople _Chick".

And the LIBERATION of Northern Cyprus would be a GREAT START.

Come to think of it, this could be a favorable time for the Turkish Army to occupy Syria and Lebanon. If Assad can be influenced by his Iranian patrons to welcome the Turks as allies, well and good. If Assad objects to a Turkish occupation, the Turks can pose as liberators of the Arabs from the Allawi dictatorship.

In either case, the Turkish Army can occupy Syrian Kurdistan, which is now coming unglued due to the Syrian intifada. The Turkish Army can increase its presence in Turkish Kurdistan, and perhaps mobilize much of the Kurdish population for the Big Jihad against Israel.

US forces in Iraq are drawing down, are supposed to be mostly out by December. The Iraqi Kurds are crying for us to stay, but I don't see how we can. The US is badly over-extended in Iraq. With the US out of Iraq, the Turks could overrun Iraqi Kurdistan. Or a pro-Iranian Arab Shia regime in Iraq could voluntarily join Erdogan's neo-Ottoman Caliphate.

I begin to see why Erdogan may be pushing for war with Israel. He's mad if he thinks he can win. But he will trigger a great deal of destruction.

Tried it but the islamoturds blow me off right away because they know that is a provacation as much as the Turk-jerks chanting "khaybar,...." on the mavi marmara.

With this moniker sometimes they reveal more to me their true intentions because they assume I'm one of them.

So true, BullShi'ite. While the Turks have—so far—refrained from overt violence towards Israel, the rest of the Ummah certainly has not.

And the destruction will be Turkey itself. If they mess with Israel, its the end of Turkey.

Re. Turks, and Jews, and the much-vaunted 'tolerance' of Jews during the days of the Ottoman Empire.

Here is the plain unvarnished opinion of Ion L Idriess, Trooper 135 of the Australian Light Horse, who took part in the campaign from Egypt into Ottoman-ruled "Palestine' that rolled up the Turks and Germans like a carpet, and ended Ottoman dominion over eretz Israel.

In his book 'The Desert Column' which is a write-up of the diaries that he kept - obsessively - throughout his entire war service, in Gallipoli and then in Egypt and 'Palestine' (unfortunately, he wasn't in on the liberation of Jerusalem, he was badly wounded at Jaffa and that was the end of his participation in World War One) he writes, after describing some of the Zionist Jewish villages that he and the other Light Horse visited:

"I think this is the 17th (December, 1917).

"Yesterday we rode by numbers of vividly pretty little red-roofed towns. The inhabitants are very fair skinned, **mostly Jews.** {my emphasis - dda} They are by far the most cleanly people we have yet met. They are very hospitable although they do charge us a hefty price for brown bread, honey and tobacco.

"Lots of them have had a hard time from the Turks.

"They seem to live between two devils, the Turks and the Arabs {both, of course, Muslim - dda}.

"Apparently the Turk prevents the Arab from massacring them outright, because the Jews are a very handy people to squeeze taxes from".

Next time some idiot tries to tell you that everything was wonderful between the Muslims and the Jews in 'Palestine' before those nasty Zionist Jooz created the State of Israel and ruined everything, just quote them that passage from Idriess:

"Lots of them have had a hard time from the Turks.

"They seem to live between two devils, the Turks and the Arabs.

"Apparently the Turk prevents the Arab from massacring them outright, because the Jews are a very handy people to squeeze taxes from".

A precarious existence "between two devils" - the Turkish Muslim rulers and the Arab Muslim peasants, townsfolk and beduin - was what life was for dhimmi Jews in eretz Israel - in their own ancestral homeland - before the British mandate and before the resurrection of the State of Israel.
