"I find it completely outrageous that Cheryl Cole can go to Afghanistan and start praising the soldiers when thousands of innocent men, women and children are being slaughtered by the Americans and their allies," inflammatory cleric Anjem Choudary told Daily Star Sunday in an exclusive interview.
"A large percentage of the population has been murdered. Far from going over there and supporting the war effort she should be condemning what is taking place in Afghanistan," he said.

Choudary's associate Abu Saalihah also said that Cole was a legitimate target and has been warned on Muslims Against Crusades' (an Islamist group) website.
The Islamist group Muslims Against Crusades, who are close linked to Choudary, warned Cole on their website saying, "Cheryl Cole has made the disastrous decision to go to Afghanistan in a bid to support and boost the morale of British soldiers presently fighting Muslims in Afghanistan. In a bid to improve her own public image, she has put her security and life at risk, Muslims will view this as an action of aggression against Islam and Muslims."
"Oh Cheryl, you were used by Ashley Cole, you were used by Simon Cowell, don't be used by the tabloid press and British government for a war that has nothing to do with you," the statement read.

The amazing thing is not so much that Britain tolerates Choudary, but that it supports him on the dole.
The fact is, Britain is ruled by the civil service, which has absolutely no loyalty to anything but it's own existence. Even during World War II, when Britain was fighting for its life, the civil service enforced its own bureaucratic rules.
The nature of a parasitic bureaucracy is to give something to everyone, and take something from everyone. No one can have an independent existence, and so, no one has the ability to stand up for himself.

Unfortunately, Choudary is not as useful to us as he could be. One of our main goals is to educate the non-Muslim masses about the dangers that increasing Islamization poses to Western civilization. To that end, we need to be able to cite and quote credible and respected Muslim leaders and scholars in order to illustrate the dangerous and civilization-destroying aspects of Islam. For educating non-Muslims about Islam and Islamization, we need to use others who are more well-known and who have more authority among Muslims.
For example, Qaradawi is useful to us for illustrative, educational purposes because he
(a) represents mainstream Muslim views and attitudes,
(b) supports sharia, including its harsh elements,
(c) is highly respected and very popular among Muslims in the Islamic world and in the West,
(d) has knowledge of Islam that is extensive and well-established,
(e) has high-level positions in Islamic organizations,
(f) has openly advocated demographic and propaganda jihads to take over Europe and bring it under the rule of Islam,
...among other things.
In other words, every major allegation we've made against Islam and in regards to Islamization, sharia, jihad, etc., Qaradawi supports, and Qaradawi is regarded as mainstream.
By contrast, Choudary is too easily dismissed as an extremist, a showman, a loudmouth provocateur, etc. It's easy for someone to claim he's not representative of Muslims in the main.
Unfortunately--and I dislike having to grant this point about a guy like Choudary--he is winning at the game he's playing. Choudary has four children, whom the predominantly non-Muslim British taxpayers are supporting. He is allowed to run around and promote (more) sharia among the Muslim population, while also making the harassment of the non-Muslim population part of his full-time occupation. That is, he is successfully waging and promoting demographic jihad, financial jihad, and propaganda jihad--all paid for by non-Muslims (and possibly some overseas Islamic sources).
This of course does not mean we can't use Choudary as an example to illustrate some of Islam's various ills; of course we can and should, and in the previous paragraph, I just did so. But we need to be selective in what we use him for. He is not a widely respected authority on Islam among the Muslim population generally, so his statements must be treated accordingly.
Note that Choudary and Qaradawi probably agree on numerous aspects of sharia and jihad. But because of Choudary's antics and histrionics, he's not likely to be taken seriously, and so citing him as illustrating this, that, or the other aspect of Islam is not likely to be taken as credible.
p.s. Using popular respected Islamic authorities is of course not a substitute for proper poll and survey evidence of Muslims' views, but rather is another source of evidence that would be cited in our overall case against Islam and, in particular, in making our case as to why Islam ought to be radically and permanently restricted in the West and elsewhere.
So, is a warning now code for a death threat that might plausibly not be a death threat?
