The Kosovo Albanian man on trial for killing two U.S. airmen at Germany's Frankfurt Airport in March says he no longer believes in jihad, or holy war.While Arid Uka still prays and considers himself a Muslim, he said Wednesday he was duped by extremist propaganda and no longer believes his religion permits violence, except in self-defense. He added that shooting the airmen was not permitted by his religion.
Uka is on trial in Frankfurt for two counts of murder. He is also facing three counts of attempted murder after wounding two other airmen and firing at a third, who survived when Uka's gun jammed.
Uka, 21, confessed to the attacks at the opening of his trial, saying he was motivated by Islamist websites calling for jihad against American military forces. The day before his attack Uka watched a website video he believed showed U.S. soldiers raiding a home in Afghanistan and raping an Afghan girl. The video was actually a scene from an American anti-war movie Redacted that was taken out of context.
U.S. federal prosecutors say Uka chanted "God is great" in Arabic while he was shooting....

I have confidence in the German legal system - they will not let him go free. If they let him free, then you may find around 6 million Germans killed by SOB MoSlums (there are about 3 mil in Germany) and stating the same BS as this SOB.

I think it's kind of a nothing issue.
This guy will be convicted of killing two people in cold blood. Nobody is going to mitigate his sentence because of his convenient change of mind.
He will have plenty of opportunity to preach his peaceful Islam among the many Muslims now in German prisons. Or, more likely, he will simply forget about such distinctions between violent and non-violent jihad, and join with one of the Muslim gangs already there.

Whether or not he believes this or that is not the point. He's on trial for what he did, not what he believes or doesn't believe.
No longer believing in violent jihad will bring back the soldiers he murdered in the name of Islam. If his sudden lack of belief could bring them back, maybe he'd have a point, but it won't. Period.

Who cares what he says he no longer believes in? He should be hanged for the murders as a deterrence at least. Instead the taxpayers of Germany will have to pay for his upkeep in prison where he will probably be a hero among the Muslim inmates, supply him with Islamic reading material, maybe halal meals, and an imam to comfort him until he is eventually freed. If an infidel murders Muslims in a Muslim country he does not get it so good. Why is the West so stupidly soft with terrorists?
He committed murder and changing his mind about Jihad will not free him from his guilt. One should try to understand those young men who get seduced by the radical ideology of Islam and take appropriate measures to prevent other young men falling for this ideology of hate and murder.

Okay, he believed in violent jihad then. He does not believe in violent jihad now. So what does that have to do with the murders he commited at the Frankfurt airport?
Violent jihad was his motive then, but would not be his motive now? The only motive that matters is his motive at the time of the murders, and unless Germany has become a sharia state (and there does seem to be some reason for concern there) jihad is not a lawful reason for taking life.
His change of mind is irrelevant in every conceivable way.
Time to move on to sentenceing. Or extradition if the US wants this killer clown.
