Justice Department forces school district to pay $75,000 to teacher who demanded time off for hajj

So, if I'm a teacher and demand time off to, say, go up to northern Michigan and participate in a 2-week festival calling for hatred and violence based on religion and race, the federal gubmint now has to pay me $70,000?

"The district also will have to develop a policy accommodating religions consistent with the Civil Rights Acts to ensure something similar will not happen again".

That's easy: don't employ Muslims. Nobody has a right to a job.

My instinct tells me this is more about the Justice Department grabbing turf for itself than about Islam in particular. The general sequence is that first the government centralizes power to itself. Once local choice is squeezed out, it becomes easy for special interest groups, such as CAIR, to capture the agencies of interest to them.

Bad as this is, it could just as easily happen under a Republican administration. There is really no short cut to getting Congress involved in creeping Islamization and the degedation of individual and local rights and freedoms.

The Berkeley School District should appeal the decision based on the point made in the above article: she could've waited for until the lunar year coincided with the school Summer vacation. She has a lifetime to do the hajj.

And one final point; did she actually go? I'd check that out, too. She might be lying. She is, after all, an adherent of a so-called religion that promotes lying to advance its cause.

In the first place,employers must think before appointing a Muslim as their worker. So many incidents in America prove that Muslims,if employed will be a nuiscence than an asset.The Somali cab drivers refusing blind people with dogs, refuse to carry passengers who carry alcohol,demand of foot-washing basins in air ports,extra prayer times exclusively for Muslim employees,No pork products touching by Muslim employees in pork production factories-all are some of the examples of the dangers of employing a Muslim. There are plenty of other willing,hardworking immigrants,such as Chinese, Hispanics,Italians,Blacks, Sikhs, and Hindus waiting to get a job. Why don't they employ them and be happy?

The DOJ sold out and settled the case in order to keep the case from going to court and possibly - however unlikely - becoming precedent (common law). It was probably done thinking it would be cheaper than going to trial. It is a nuisance settlement offer, making the other party just go away. Apparently part of the settlement was an agreement to educate the Board on the accommodation of religion and to make policy in line with the Civil Rights Act (which does favor any one religion). What needs to be done here to balance this out is for Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc., to make sure the policy "accommodates" all religions, not just Islam, filing suit if need be and taking it to trial if there is no equal accommodation.

For the sake of any young people who come here, this is a repeat of a posting I've done before on this subject.

This woman claimed she needed three weeks to perform the hajj. Malcolm X did the hajj in one week, and that included one day in which he was detained while the religious police verified that he was a real convert. This woman's hajj requirement is clearly unreasonable.

The school district should have appealed based on this alone. It would have been entirely reasonable for her to do the hajj on winter or spring break, with perhaps a couple of days added if needed. Three weeks is an abuse of the system.

Once agin the employer is the bad guy and Islam is the inoccent victim.
