An "Obedient Wife Club" known in Malaysia for its controversial views has published a book urging men in polygamous Muslim marriages to have group sex with their wives, a report said Friday.
The club, formed earlier this year, has made headlines with its radical suggestions on sex and marriage in conservative, Muslim-majority Malaysia.
They include earlier calling on women to be "whores in bed" to prevent their men from straying and pursuing divorce.
In a 115-page book titled "Islamic Sex, Fighting Jews to Return Islamic Sex to the World," the group calls on Muslim husbands to have sex with all their wives simultaneously, The Star daily reported.
That sounds about like an Islamic supremacist porn comic book.
One chapter, "How Sex Becomes Worship," contains unusually explicit sexual descriptions for a Malaysian publication, such as a tutorial on breast-fondling.
If they overreach and somehow equate sex with salat, they might run afoul of their target audience. That could be awkward.
AFP was unable to immediately obtain a copy of the reported book, published by Global Ikhwan, the Malaysian Islamic group that formed the wives' club.
Global Ikhwan first shot to prominence in 2009 when it formed the equally controversial "Polygamy Club".
Global Ikhwan member Maznah Taufik told AFP the book was exclusively for wives' club members and declined to comment further.
The Star said Jamil Khir Baharom, Malaysia's minister in charge of Islamic affairs, has promised to investigate the book's contents.
Malaysia bans books deemed to be pornographic or insulting to Islam.
The "Obedient Wife Club" said at its June launch that it had 800 members in Malaysia and another 200 overseas.
Polygamy is legal for Muslims, who make up more than 60 percent of Malaysia's population. Men are allowed to take up to four wives.
That's Sharia. That's Qur'an 4:3.
A 2010 study by a Muslim activist group found that men in polygamous relationships struggled to meet the needs of all their wives and children, and that the result was often unhappy and cash-strapped families.
Maria Chin Abdullah, executive director of women's advocacy group Empower, called the book a "very backward, narrow way of presenting women's role".
It is insulting to both men and women. The responsibility for the success or failure of the marriage is placed entirely on the woman (or women), while the man is portrayed as a combination of Beavis and Butt-Head on steroids.
"It's really an affront to the women's rights movement," she said. "We have come forward so far to say women are not just sex objects."
Malaysia,Thailand,Indonesia,Cambodia were non-Muslim countries thousands of years back and this is depicted by the archeological finds and the old temple architecture and so also many of the names of persons and places in those countries. Because of the influence of this old culture and also the lush green countryside the population in those countries have still retained their mild behaviour unlike the desert Arab muslims from the middle-east from where Islam came into those countries. In spite of accepting Islam from Mohammed's Arabia the people of those countries did not change much of their deep rooted culture for many centuries post-Islamisation. Alas ! It is only after the Oil-rich fanatic Wahabi Islamic winds started blowing towards these countries ,and Africa too , post-OPEC then that the reign of "fundamentalist" has begun ! Post-Al Quaida and Taliban the implementation of fundamental Islam in Malasiya has become a part of the government policy! It is after that the minorities in Malaysia , such as Christians ,Tamil Hindus and Chinese Budhists, have started feeling unsecured. In neighbouring Singapore the majority Chineses , mostly Budhist & Christian followers , the religious minorities like Tamil Hindus and Malay Muslims do not face any problem either at the government level or in the streets ! This clearly shows that it is the religion of Islam which is the root cause of the ills in Malaysian society today and fundamentalist Muslims are becoming more poerful day by day particularly due to the patronage of Islamic political parties in Malaysia ! May Allah save Malaysia from fundamentalist Islamists in their country !

Pandoba, I was just in Cambodia, and you're right. The people I visited said there's been SIGNIFICANT growth of radical Islam. I also saw very elaborate, embellished mosques, which stood out in such a poor country. I also saw the Muslim Brotherhood building in Phnom Penh.

Paradoxically, the Muslim polygamy is encouraged far more in the West, particularly England but increasingly in Canada and the US, where the multiple wives simply collect welfare benefits. The Muslim male, always inadequate, is now relieved of the pressure of having to actually provide for his brood.
I have the impression, from the Muslims I know who work, that one wife and family is more than enough to keep them occupied.
It goes without saying that any Muslim (or anyone else) found to be supporting multiple families through welfare, and any family resulting from such arrangements, should be immediately cut off from all benefits. Such arrangements should also be grounds for immediate deportation of all involved, if it involves naturalized or prospective citizens.

OT, I was watching an interview with the author of a book about BHO's dad (The Other Barack), and the talk was that he had four wives, but that it was the 'tradition' of his Kenyan 'tribe'.
Islam never entered the conversation, except for a brief mention that his dad (BHO's grandfather) was a Muslim.

Articles like this, serves to promote Islam, rather than to oppose it. The book the article makes reference to is Islamist propaganda, appealing to the obvious and embellishes a patriarchial culture.

Marisol, I think, (and I dare not pretend to put words into her mouth) is laying out, for us, the absurdity of the whole publication. She is not sensationalizing it - merely, she is, as Artaud would, modelling it - "upon the stage" of the internet, if you will.
Her style is sarcastic - deliciously caustic at times - but always well-reasoned and incisive.
The answer to threats against free-speech is NOT to lessen the practice of it,(free-speech)as long as violence in service of it is not alllowed.
