We read about honor killings all the time but I have never ever heard about what actually happens to someone who "looses" honor thru the behavior of a female family member.

Where is the evidence, ancedotal evidence or even hearsay about a man or family who's fortunes have been ruined as a direct result of such behavior.

If loosing such honor does no actual damage then it doesn't exist as a commodity or indicator of valuation and in fact does not exist.

I think words mean what they mean. There was an effort to change "suicide bomber" to "homicide bomber", but it didn't fly. "Suicide bomber" got the point across, and people knew exactly what it meant.

Similarly, people know exactly what "honor killing" means. It is a contradiction in terms to the Western mind, as the killing of a defenseless woman or child contains no honor whatsoever. But, hearing it, you know exactly what happened: some Muslim loved his authority more than he valued his children.

By the way, "Islamophobia" is turning out to have the same characteristics: to the Muslims, "Islamophobia" means anyone who opposes Islam on principle; to anti-Jihadists, "Islamophobic" means...to be anti-Jihadist.

As far as the average citizen, if you read the thousands of comments on a truly open forum, like MSNBC, anytime there is an egregious action like honor killing by Muslims, it becomes apparent that many, many people are well aware of the viciousness and threat of Islam. It has been 12 hours since I asked if anyone had ever heard of any instance where a man or family had ever actually suffered real reprecussions from the supposed loss of "honor" due to the actions of a female family member.

There has not been a responce. That indicates that the people who have read this page and it's comments so far have not heard or read of such an instance.

To be clear I am not positing that these honor killings don't occur or that honor is the motivation. They absolutely do.

I am postiting that loss of honor is not the determining factor in peoples fortunes that these murderers think it is. Not just in western society but eastern as well. That belief in the negative effect of "lost honor" is no more born out by actual evidence than is the belief in djins.

These women are being killed for nothing as their continued living does no harm to the families social or material existance other than social embarassment. And I would hope their social networks would be emotionaly supportive to them rather than turn on them.

What is really disgusting about this situation is that, under Sharia law, there only has to be a suspicion of improper behavior (i.e., being alone with a boy, like on a date) for Muslim "honor" to be used to murder the girl. There is no burden of proof other than the allegations and those who support those allegations. The female is not even permitted to testify in the informal "trial" (meeting of the accusers with an Imam) when there is sexual misconduct involved.

There seems to be some kind of idea that the less of a politician a candatate is the better. Does that really make sense ? I mean the job of president is a politician's job. I will vote for whoever is savy about the Muslim -movement (as I like to call it )and not afraid to call a terrorist an Islamist.
