Picking up Leftist smears from the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League, the Hutton Hotel has canceled the Preserving Freedom Conference because Pamela Geller and I were speaking there. More on this story, and a Free Speech Death Watch Alert: "Nashville hotel cancels conference over speakers deemed anti-Muslim 'extremists,'" from the Associated Press, October 24 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Nashville hotel has canceled a conference by the Sharia Awareness Action Network, saying it was concerned the speakers include "extremists" with a history of contentious events. The "Preserving Freedom Conference" had been scheduled for Nov. 11 at the Hutton Hotel near downtown. The hotel in a statement Monday said it has to be "mindful of the safety, security and peace of mind of its guests."
The hotel cited reports by the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center about speakers Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer of the group Stop Islamization of America, adding that they have "a history of controversy and contention surrounding their appearances."
I didn't know that!
A post on Geller's website said the hotel had "caved to Islamic supremacist demands" and urged supporters to call the hotel's management to complain.
Now it's "extremism" to defend the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and the equality of rights for women.
The ADL will someday regret having acted as Islamo-fascism's water boy.
The last time I was in Nashville, I got a dour Moslem cab driver from the airport. Not a word was spoken durnig the drive. When we pulled up at the hotel, standing by the driver side window, I gave a $20 on a $16 fare, and stood there. The devout Moslem looked up at me, wondering if he could keep the four bucks. I said, "Sorry, but I don't tip Moslems." He begrudgingly counted out the four bills, scowling even more than he did when he picked me up. I then said, "It's a matter of policy. Don't feed the animals." Walking away, I turned around to see him giving me the death stare.

Think about it: getting a Moslem to work at all is tough as it is. Getting one to work for free was a nice value. I had to smile to myself that night, taking what small pleasure one can get in this increasingly mozzed up country.

Dude! too funny... That was almost a coffee out the nose moment.
Thx, I needed that.
These philosophers over at SPLC, chose not to post my comments on several occasions. They believe in freedom of speech alright, provided that it's cleared by their moderator.
The SPLC and ADL blew their covers years ago.
I'm working on my letter to Hutton, and would like to know why they booked you and Pamela in the first place, Robert.
All who frequent here must send Hutton a message of distaste, and a promise to communicate far and wide what they have done to the cause of freedom, and how this action will not be forgotten.
We need to make booking a room at the Hutton equal to raping a child. Because that's what it boils down to...
Dear Robert
It is ironic that you are portrayed as an “extremist,” when you are such an outstanding scholar of Islam.
As a non-religious nuclear physicist (with well over 20 peer-reviewed publications in nuclear physics and related areas) trying to understand and unravel the roots of radicalism in Muslim communities, I have found your insights groundbreaking in many ways.
In fact, I referred to your scholarship many times in my recent book Defeating Political Islam. If I am given a chance, I will do so again, for scholarly reasons.

My hope is that the lawsuit for breach will help them learn the difference between "controversy" and "legal contract."
I can't wait to see what they would offer as defense.
Paging David Yerushalmi, your office is calling...
These dhimmi slaves will be the first to sign up to hold those non-Muslims who refuse to submit in their comfortable prison. Seriously, what on earth do they care what the content of the meeting is? Since anyone who is attending will be inside the meeting, just whom do they worry will demonstrate "contention" and "controversy"?
In yesterday's account of this incident, the manager of he the hotel cited threatening calls and letters he received as the reason the event was being cancelled. Based on this report today, am I to assume these threatening calls and such were made by the ADL and SPLC? How extraordinary, indeed!
Hey Dr. M,
Dag Walker and I have your book The Art of War on Terror: Triumphing over Political Islam and the Axis of Jihad. Does the new one have much more to add?
CGW
Yes, M.M., I enjoyed your first book and take some delight in recommending it to others at this forum.
Best to you.
Dag,

In my opinion your action is nothing but petty bullying.
I disagree. I live in the same area as APF, and we daily suffer the indignation of having to live with these savages among us.
At every opportunity I discriminate against the vile, destructive ideology of islam and its adherents and I am very vocal about exactly why. It makes musloids stop and think, at least for a moment, and I have encountered support from my fellows in almost every instance.
We need to fight against this scourge at every level, even the smallest, most basic and seemingly insignificant.
Plus, it's fun to watch them squirm.
Islam is a hostile and aggressive ideology, and it is nothing without adherents. Islam is just words without people taking it up and making it real in the world. So, to say we are against Islam but not Muslims is incoherent. To say that we "bully" people is something different. It is nonsensical in a world under threat by armed and aggressive ideologues working strenuously to destroy our way of life. If petty snubs are the best we can do, then we should do at least that. If our entire Modernity were to become openly hostile to Islam and its adherents, then perhaps that alone would suffice to drive them, if not out, at least into something like passive acceptance that Islam is not welcome in a Modern setting. They might, though it is doubtful, begin to act like the average person in conforming to the norms of Modern societies. So, snub away.
