Knowing Abdulmutallab, this is not the end of his theatrics, but an interesting twist in the underwear jihadist's case.
Since he's largely representing himself, who knows? He could demand some sort of do-over on the grounds his "attorney" was incompetent. "'Underwear bomber' pleads guilty to all charges," from CNN, October 12:
Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab, the Nigerian man accused of trying to detonate an explosive device in his underwear aboard a Christmas 2009 flight to Detroit, pleaded guilty to all counts in court Wednesday.
He had been indicted on charges including attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism, and possession of a firearm or destructive device in furtherance of an act of violence.
AbdulMutallab had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The announcement comes one day after the prosecution finished its opening statement.
On Tuesday, the prosecution finished its opening statement and the defense said it would reserve the right to give an opening statement at a later point in the trial.
The judge in the trial refused to prevent the prosecution from calling the device he allegedly carried a "bomb."
U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds also refused to exclude a photo of AbdulMutallab's burned genitals from the evidence.
While at previous court appearances AbdulMutallab has had outbursts - including yelling "Osama's alive," a reference to Osama bin Laden - he remained calm Tuesday.
AbdulMutallab was indicted on charges including attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism, and possession of a firearm or destructive device in furtherance of an act of violence.
AbdulMutallab's burned genitals?
Reminds me of someone else's burned genitals!
A good Muslim needs to emulate his Prophet, right?

This is truly a case of international jihadism, involving Africa, Asia, Europe and Americas.
I wonder whether the West's surveillance and security has improved since Abdulmutallab's attempted jihad.
What is the state of security, for example, in British universities now, compared with the laxity of 2005-2008, when he attended University College London?
"Detroit bomber: British university 'complicit' in radicalisation" ('Telegraph' 2009)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/yemen/6906669/Detroit-bomber-British-university-complicit-in-radicalisation.html
There was a headline in Yahoo news, quoting underwear bomber 'Blessed Weapon' (blessed as an adjective). Before reading the article, I thought it was a verb: Farouk blessed the weapon.
I would not be surprised if he prayed over the "weapon"* but this has Nothing to do with Religion!
*before he kissed his Manhood good bye!
OT but very interesting:
A breath of fresh air to see someone lead. Australian Prime Minister does it again!!
The whole world needs a leader like this!
Prime Minister Julia Gillard - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT... Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'
NOTE: IF we circulate this amongst ourselves in Canada &USA, WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.
If you agree please SEND THIS ON and ON, to as many people as you know...
Rob,
Hate to tell you this, but this story has already been debunked (it's been out for months). It would be nice, though, if our conservative leaders had the cojones to ACTUALLY say it as it is. Let's keep hoping. Cheers,
Ima
"U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds also refused to exclude a photo of AbdulMutallab's burned genitals from the evidence."
Now we know that crispy hot dogs containing pork are permitted in Islam!
Underwear jihadist pleads guilty to all charges
...
Knowing Abdulmutallab, this is not the end of his theatrics, but an interesting twist in the underwear jihadist's case.
...............................
Yes—but not that interesting.
"Guilty" and "not guilty" seem like opposites to us Infidels, but not so much to Jihadists. A "not guilty" plea doesn't mean they didn't do what they are accused of, but merely that they would not be prosecuted for it under Shari'ah.
In a similar manner, a "guilty" plea does not mean 'I am heartily sorry for having committed this vicious crime', but merely that they did what they are accused of, but that waging Jihad is no crime under Islamic law.
So—the plea itself is arbitrary. That's why some Jihadist suspects plead guilty, and some do not. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Well, I was surprised...Julia Gillard speaking like that? Never! She is not a Christian, and she never speaks about Muslims and is allowing them to pour into the country. She has just introduced a destructive carbon tax to help the globo-Socialism agenda on its merry way. Awful.
Alas, Rob, Ima Freeman is correct.
Here's Snopes debunking the story:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/australia.asp
These same words were previously attributed to John Howard. I only wish it were so...
I wish it were so too, gravenimage. Not there yet. Not in Australia, not in Europe, not in America (actually, Canadian Prime Minister Harper, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the present Pope come closest to being what nations which are free require among their politicians most everywhere).
The current crop of Western politicians, speaking in the aggregate, are so ignorant or so afraid of criticism of Islam (probably both) that they don't even know where to begin to dismantle this mortal threat to Western Civilization. Too bad Muslim resurrection has come at the same time that the West has lost its mind and its balls. Time for Geert Wilders aplenty to appear. Not there yet. Better get there soon.
Here's a prediction I have for you. Assuming the West finally regains its senses and its courage, most of those now leading the West will be excoriated for all time to come. Of course, if the West fails at this critical point in its history, then Napoleon's assessment to the effect that history is a pack of lies agreed upon will plague the West and all mankind into the indefinite future. In any case, the burden to the human race which is Islam continues unabated for now.
Herman Cain seems pretty clear-eyed on Islam. I think he muzzles himself on the matter, but sometimes his real feelings come out (check you tubes).
I tend to agree with you about Cain. He may "get it," at least to a fair extent, but, for policital purposes right now, he's got to play the game.
