Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood trying to influence voters by handing out gifts, food at polling stations, setting up tables to "show people how to vote"

This is nothing new. In the constitutional referendum held in March, the Muslim Brotherhood handed out food (including meat by the kilogram) and money to those who voted "yes" in accordance with their wishes. "Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood 'trying to rig poll with gifts'," from the Evening Standard, November 29 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

The Muslim Brotherhood was today accused of attempting to rig Egypt's election by handing out gifts and food at polling stations in a desperate attempt to win power.
Witnesses told the Evening Standard that the Islamist party, which is expected to secure a large share of the votes, had a strong presence both inside and outside polling stations.
Onlookers claimed some Brotherhood groups were allowed to set up tables with laptop computers in order to show "people how to vote".
Voting laws passed after the fall of Hosni Mubarak's regime in February outlaw bribes or campaigning inside or near polling stations.
Bel Trew, a film-maker working in Tahrir Square, said: "We have seen people offering gifts to people outside polling stations. This is against the law and would certainly not be allowed in other democratic countries."
Today voting continued with turnout again reported to be high. Student Mariam, who would not give her full name for fear of reprisals said: "I wanted to boycott the elections, as the parliament will have no power and because of what happened in Tahrir, but if we don't vote the Muslim Brotherhood will win the majority."
But there is growing support for the Muslim Brotherhood with many claiming the party is the best option to bring order to Egypt.
"The Freedom and Justice Party (Muslim Brotherhood) are the most organised party right now," said Hossam, 39, an insurance broker who went to a Catholic school in Cairo.
"They have a religious view but they are the only ones who have a good plan for the country." The outcome of the election will indicate whether Egypt will remain secular or move down an Islamic path as have other countries swept up in the Arab Spring.

Egypt's existing constitution already enshrines Sharia as the basis of legislation (Article 2). That is certain not to budge from the next one.

Zeinab Saad, 50, said: "I am voting for this country's sake. We want a new beginning. Its a great thing to feel like your vote matters."
The complicated voting process is staggered over the next six weeks across 27 provinces, divided into thirds with run-offs held a week after the first round in each location.
Voters have to pick two individuals and one alliance or party slate - a system that has left many of the 50 million eligible voters puzzled and apparently undecided....

That gives the Muslim Brotherhood an opening as well, even without their "showing people how to vote."

If the Muslim Brotherhood win, it'll be the last meal many Egyptians will have. Islamic inshalla-ism won't fill empty stomachs or run an economy efficiently.

Maybe these food handouts will become known as 'The Last Supper' as the Egyptian people will now be betrayed by their new rulers.

Clowns!

The Egyptian voting system was invented by a madman.

But the mechanics of it are of no less importance: How much control is there once people arrive at the voting booth? Is it enclosed? Is it allowed to ...uhm ...assist your wife and family in voting?

Here in Denmark I believe there's a rule that only appointed officials are allowed to enter a booth when there is a problem, specifically directed at preventing family and other outside pressure. But apparently it is not uncommon that the Muslim Street help each other out, and the officials do not interfere. There would probably be trouble if they did, and they know it.

Let's see where all this "Arab Spring" hype ends. Iranian authorities have announced that there already has been a demonstration in favor of "the Arab Spring", and therefore there is no need of more demonstrations. They said it.

Note how this presumably Western observer, with the use of the phrase "other democratic countries," already includes Egypt into the category of democratic countries. This is far from the case. True liberal democracies protect the rights of minorities, not according to sharia but according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

How many more of female colleagues does this person have to see raped before they get it: The "Arab Spring" is not about democracy. It is about Islam-driven mob rule.

I think they got the idea on how to influence voters from ACORN!

Note the men only, women only lines at the polling booths.

Let the Muslim Brotherhood take over; this is the inexorable trend. Let all of Islam go Sharia; this is the inexorable trend. Let it happen now regardless of the fallout. This existential battle between civilization and barbarism is not only one of good versus evil, but one of the mind versus faith. These contrary values are now locked in a death vortex. Let it happen now while we still have vestiges of reason and its derivative, common sense, and some resolve to survive.
Egypt has no future within its own borders. They will be standing on each others' heads with their demographic explosion. No economy can provide jobs for the legions of kids looking for jobs. There isn't enough arable land to provide them with food. Hence the urgency to create the worldwide caliphate,
Unlike China which used reason and implemented a one child policy, the Muslims will trust in Allah and continuing their mad breeding and inbreeding.
Muslims have oil and faith, and pistachios from Iran as pointed out by gravenimage. We have food in abundance and reason.
We need to realize the inexorability of this death vortex and we need incorruptible and far-sighted leaders such as we have not seen in a long time. The tipping point is fast approaching IMO.

Gee-whiz. Chicago politics in Cairo. Who knew?

They are leading and expected to govern with 47% vote. All these nutty countries are going to Islamic. West must get ready to handle the influx of refugees.

Young men of Egypt
Vote for the Muslim Brotherhood
All your needs will be met--wives and basic cable included

Chicago, too? I thought surely these MBs learned it from South Carolina. All you have to do here is pretend you don't know how to use the machine. Elf-type creatures appear from nowhere to guide your button-pushing. So simple even a cavewoman can do it!

"Today voting continued with turnout again reported to be high."

The truth about Egyptian 'democracy' is out. Here is the flip side of electoral 'gift giving', not exactly Jeffersonian democracy::

While the overwhelming majority spoke with excitement over getting to cast their ballot, a few headed to the polls to avoid a 500 Egyptian pounds ($85) fee imposed by the ruling military on absent voters. In some of the country's populous districts, younger voters dragged their elders to make sure they would not have to pay the fine.
"I am voting here just because of the 500 Egyptian pounds," said Walaa Mohammed, a 33-year-old office employee, adding she didn't think the lines outside polling stations would not be so long if it were not for the fine.

That's a lot of dough for these folks… No wonder they got over 70% turnout. You vote… or else.

And when the islamofascists win (errr, I mean "misunderstands of islam"), I'm sure the Western liberal think tanks and the liberal and arab media will breathlessly try to explain away yet another example of a majority of muslims supporting evil as really just a rejection of Mubarak's corrupt regime; just like Western liberals and muslims tried to explain away a majority of "Palestinians" voting in hamas as really just a rejection of the corruption of fatah and not yet more evidence that most muslims are f*cked in the head.

At this point, I'm almost cheering on the fundamentalist muslims in these elections. The more blaringly obvious it becomes that most muslims are demented and backwards 7th century neo-nazis, the easier it will be to bypass the liberal media covering up that inconvienent truth.

Onward soldiers of allah! Reveal your true colors for the whole world to see!

Unfortunately, they don't seem to be quite that stupid. The "arab world" knows that the world is watching them like a hawk looking for any signs of extremism. That's why they know they have to copy the Turkish example:

Put on a moderate face, use all the enlightened and tolerant liberal buzz words that the Western Left loves to hear and wear a Western-style suit while hiding the scimitar behind your back...
