Here is the fruit of political correctness, willful ignorance, dithering, and reaching out in naive "friendship" to the mullahs: "IAEA says foreign expertise has brought Iran to threshold of nuclear capability," by Joby Warrick in the Washington Post, November 6 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
Intelligence provided to U.N. nuclear officials shows that Iran’s government has mastered the critical steps needed to build a nuclear weapon, receiving assistance from foreign scientists to overcome key technical hurdles, according to Western diplomats and nuclear experts briefed on the findings.Documents and other records provide new details on the role played by a former Soviet weapons scientist who allegedly tutored Iranians over several years on building high-precision detonators of the kind used to trigger a nuclear chain reaction, the officials and experts said. Crucial technology linked to experts in Pakistan and North Korea also helped propel Iran to the threshold of nuclear capability, they added.
The officials, citing secret intelligence provided over several years to the International Atomic Energy Agency, said the records reinforce concerns that Iran continued to conduct weapons-related research after 2003 — when, U.S. intelligence agencies believe, Iranian leaders halted such experiments in response to international and domestic pressures.
The U.N. nuclear watchdog is due to release a report this week laying out its findings on Iran’s efforts to obtain sensitive nuclear technology. Fears that Iran could quickly build an atomic bomb if it chooses to has fueled anti-Iran rhetoric and new threats of military strikes. Some U.S. arms-control groups have cautioned against what they fear could be an overreaction to the report, saying there is still time to persuade Iran to change its behavior.
Dream on.
Iranian officials expressed indifference about the report.“Let them publish and see what happens,” said Iran’s foreign minister and former nuclear top official, Ali Akbar Salehi, the semiofficial Mehr News Agency reported Saturday.
Threat noted.
As posted earlier:
Agree completely. No need to talk of turning Iran into the biggest contiguous sheet of glass in the world. The West (well, the US at any rate) has plenty of conventional weaponry suitable for the job. Roll on the MOABs. Somewhat predictably, the left wing media are shrieking, screaming and whining at the prospect of someone doing something about their favourite totalitarian maniacs...

(book) "A Time To Betray" --- CIA Spy Reza Kahlili: Iran Will Use Nukes Against Israel
http://schnellmann.org/al-barzakh.html
Somehow, we have been here earlier, in 1936. Hitler marched his troops into the Rhineland. We did nothing. One year earlier, Mussolini sent his troops into Abyssynia, and we did nothing then. In 1938, we perasuaded the Czechs to sign away the Sudetenland in the hope of peace, and in the process encouraged Hitler to annex the rest of the present-day Czech republic into Greater Germany. Next, Hitler annexed the Memelland, and again more inactivity on our part. Eventually, war came after five or six years of appeasement. Fortunately, Hitler didn't have nukes, but he had Armed Forces which took him to within 30 kilometres of Moscow and almost defeated Britain. But the problem with the West is that it doesn't learn its history and freezes like a startled rabbit in a car's headlights when faced with a whackjob. Political correctness and cowardice rules, and that is why Iran will get its nukes untroubled, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we bomb Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and get into the mother of air battles if the Israelis try to do something about Iran's nuke program. This is where we are in the West today.
If it happens, it will be Israel, not America. Obama has neither the inclination nor the gonads to do what's right.
Of course IAEA knows what Iran has regarding nuclear weapons, the IAEA itself covered for Iran while they were building their bomb, with the help of it's stooge Mohammed El Baradei. Just that name should have thrown up red flags. Now it's again up to Israel to act, just like at Osirak.
Islam uses force because it has no persuasive arguments. That makes Iran a bully with a bunch of thugs (Hamas, Hezbollah) to hand out threats and beatings to the weak and defenseless.
That's why it is clear that Israel should attack Iran and end the mortal threat. For one thing is clear; bullies are physical and moral cowards.
Give them a severe beating and they won't come back!
"But the problem with the West is that it doesn't learn its history and freezes like a startled rabbit in a car's headlights when faced with a whackjob."
The west is frozen because it wants to be. Business is good for those in a position to benefit from it, and things like clashes of civilizations are bad for business. Even in WW2 american conglomerates put tremendous pressure on the FDR administration to stay out of the war until the last, even with Churchill screaming for help against the wermacht. The stakes are much higher for corporations today, especially factoring inflation.
Maybe Iran will retain Ron Paul to plead the case that their nuclear research is only for peaceful purposes. /sarc
I hope he is asked to comment on this story in the next debate. Although he has already amply demonstrated his naivete about foreign policy, a question directed to him about Iran could then be pivoted to elicit the opinions of the other candidates about this. The contrast between their positions and Paul's would then become apparent for all to see.
The lunatic holds his dagger at the child's throat, while getting closer to the dynamite crate. It's time for the SWAT team to save the infant, it is of the highest moral imperative to slay the bastard.
Destroying iran's WMD capability certainly accomplishes what must be done for the sake of ourselves and our children. The proliferation and stockpile of nukes especially by islamic states will be predictably catastrophic to the world as we know it.
A second military action which is as critical as the first is to decapitate any leadership who has or will declare an intent at genocide.
Remember our targets are primarily military weaponry, the enemies targets are civilian, that folks is a war crime of the highest caliber.
Obama may very well turn against Israel if it strikes Iran, it would fit his actions and positions, better than joining them in defence of the West.
Humans like to shoulder what they can build with pride, but thinking about good vs evil fails us, it is beyond us to reason a way forward when it is about what we can build, over if we should build such things.
The writing is on the wall, we know what we should do, but greed and pride will prevent bold action, until the madness that is islam pushes the button.
A Worldwide ban of Civil Nuclear power, enforced by threat of total offender destruction, there is no other option, other than waiting until the Sunbombs light our world in full color, 24 hour coverage, horror.
"If it happens, it will be Israel, not America. Obama has neither the inclination nor the gonads to do what's right"
If anything, obozo has been consistent on two things: benefiting islamists in the long term two: doing anything possible to getting elected at any cost. From this equation you can arrive at a prediction which satisfies both of obozos major objectives, to get elected and to help islam. He will appear to "staunchly" renounce and stand firm against iran but never really commit to the course necessary to resolutely check iran's quest. In obozoo's psyche, islamic ascendancy facilitated by nukes is not such a bad and terrifying thing, as he has told us in the past,he is not afraid.
TICK...TOCK...TIMES IS RUNNING OUT
It is long past time that a coalition of allied Western nations is formed to collectively declare unconditional war on the rogue state of The Islamic Republic of Iran.
A concerted and prolonged maximum military effort of around the clock targeting and destruction of all Iranian air, land, and sea forces (including attacks on and the destruction of Hezbollah) including the use of bunker busting tactical nuclear weapons.
The dangerous, misguided, and arrogant leadership within the Iranian theocracy must be bombed back to the 7th Century so that they can finally reap the benefits of their Islamic retirement program e.g. 72 virgins, and a cameo appearance and meeting with Allah himself (shit be upon him). This must be done BEFORE Iran has the nuclear capability to destroy Israel...tick...tock...time is running out. The last few grains of sand are soon to drop through the hourglass. We must act now...it will be too late once an Iranian nuclear weapon is detonated in Israel.
Anything short of the total military destruction of all of Iran's military assets, nuclear weapons programs, and the unconditional surrender of what is left of the Iranian leadership will not be acceptable. Iran must be brought to her knees in total and undeniable defeat...anything less is unacceptable.
Now is the time...Iran is the place...support our ally Israel!

Thank you for that link, CJ2012.
This man Khalili is a brave fellow. I cannot admire him enough for what he has done for my country.
I wonder how many of our Senators/Congressmen and Women are familiar with Khalili and what he has to say.

It seems incredible to consider that there are such evil men plotting against the rest of the world in order to "get to heaven". Islam, and the Shiite version especially, are (as has been said over and over and over on this site) without virtue. Theirs is an insane, diabolical world. If the Devil exists, Islam and its adherents are his busy little apostles, and as Khalili said, the Iranians fully intend to use nukes on Israel and Europe.
God save us. We must act, and quickly, or kiss our asses goodbye.
They should create prize "Hero of Humanity" and award it to Yukiya Amano, the head of the UN's Atomic Agency, IAEA. This honest Japanese gentleman is diligently doing his work and speaking the truth.
And the CIA and US State Dept. liars who issued the evil "National Intelligence Estimate" in mid-November 2007, exactly 4 years ago almost to the day, saying that "Iran had stopped its nuclear program in 2003" ( ! ! ! ) should be put on trial for crimes against humanity.
And history will pass its harsh verdict on our entire nation, the United States of America for restraining Israel for years from bombing Iran. The time has now almost run out. The ultimate horror of Global Nuclear Jihad is ahead of all of us. And the responsibility for this evil will be on the head of our American nation. It is not just the human maggot Ron Paul. It is every US president, Republican and Democrat, starting with Carter, who had shirked his responsibility to deny the worst terrorist nation in world history the nuclear weapon.
We had our chance to elect a man of courage, Rudy Giuliani, to the White House. It took the Republican Primary voters only 10 days to get rid of him. This was the most horrible blunder by the American people in our entire history, and it can turn out to be by far the costliest one.
Ruslan Tokhchukov, EnragedSince1999.
CNN and the other news networks are not really mentioning much about this 'almost' war. Of course the lusts of Herman Cain is much more newsworthy. If only Michael Jackson had waited a bit longer to die, we wouldn't need to deal with this Israeli/Iran/nuclear nonsense at all. (tongue in cheek)
We will not do anything until Israel has to defend itself by destroying Iran's nuclear facilities. After that this administration will blame Israel for not negociating with Mullahs who over and over showed that they are trying to get nuclear bombs for humanitarian purposes to protect their people, especially women, children and gays. Ops THEY DON'T HAVE GAYS there. I am truely wondering sometimes if this total ignorance of MOSLEM THREAT to us is real or this administration is really an enemy to US under disguise. This administration does not compute.

I agree with you on this, Ruslan. Yikya Amano is a *vast* improvement on his predecessor, the weasely Muslim Mohamed ElBaradei—who made a career of obfuscating the reality of the nuclear situation in Iran.
I'm worried it might be too little, too late, though—while it seemed that the whole world—for some inexplicable reason—hung on ElBaradei's every meretricious pronouncement, Amano is getting very little attention.
Maybe people wanted to here ElBaradei's oleaginous reassurances, and what Amano has to say is just too disturbing...
Israel has been pushed out onto the firing line by its Christian "allies." Confronted with a deep seated and ugly problem like Moslems, it's human nature to hope it can be solved by feeding them a fall guy, which as is so often the case the Jews.
I don't blame Prez Barack Hussein for selling out the Tehran street protesters in '09 cuz I don't believe democratic revolution is possible anywhere in Dar al-Islam. So the prez's timidity made no difference.

After Israel strikes Persia's thermonuke facilities, and fails, the gloves will be off and Ayatollah Khamenei will give Prez Mahmoud the green light to launch on the Holy Land. At that point all we can hope for are propulsion or guidance problems.
From there all bets are off, the only sure thing being that America and EUrabia will botch the response, if there even is one, so as to make things as bad as possible when the smoke clears.
Sooner or later. It now increasingly appears it's becoming too late for later. Israel now has its reason: sooner is now. Now! If not then it may be never. The end.
I would like to know something.
Do you actually believe that there is any hope - any hope for the world - at all? *Any* hope of defeating the monstrous gestalt that is the ummah?
Or have you decided that Evil is Strong, that Evil is the Way of the World, and that Evil Wins and Always Will Win, Forever and Ever, Amen?
And if so, why do you keep on coming here, if you are seriously convinced that every word that any resister of Jihad utters whether here or anywhere else, and every action we try to take, is utterly futile: that our death and the total death of our civilisation and of all civilisation and indeed, probably, of most of humanity and pretty much everything good and beautiful that humans have ever created, is already set in stone, inevitable, and that NOTHING can be done to prevent it, so why bother even trying??
At what point are you going to decide that the Mohammedans are it, and recite the Shahada?
Sometimes you sound to me like Denethor in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, just before he gets ready to light the pyre for himself and Faramir (I refer to the book, NOT the movies).
Or like Quirrell in the first Harry Potter book, when he tells Harry how Voldemort has convinced him that "There is neither good nor evil, there is only Power, and those too weak to seek it"?
pig farmer, do not be alarmed. If it all boils down to Allah versus Yeshua, we already know the ending.
Iran does have nukes already and who says otherwise is a fool!
Why?
if the german scientist could make nukes in 1945 in the USA and drop them over japan, iranian scientist can do the same thing 66 years later. Guys come one, it is 66 years down the road and even though the persians are not mega brains, the are able to Life-Action-Role-Play what was done 66 years ago with the real thing.
The only reason why the iranians did not yet launch any nukes, is because they dont have enough of them yet.
They believe the mahdi (the islamic savior)can only come when there is destruction and dispair in the world and with 4-5 nukes you can do a lot of harm, but you cant screw up the whole world, you need more nukes and in the near future they will have enough nukes and they will for sure launch them.
However, there will be a nuklear war one way or the other, either the world waits too long and Iran has enough nukes to do the ammount of damage to bring forth the mahdi, or the world would try to take the iranian nuke program out, but since they have already nukes, they will launch them as longs as they have the chance to.
So, guys, fasten your seatbelts, there will be a nuklear war in the near future (1-5 years), it will happen, lets just hope it will only be local. I am also sure Iran will not be able to hit Israel with a nuke, since the israeli defense sytem is the best there is, they have more than 60 years of traing dogeing rockets, so if anybody knows how to avoid any warheads, it would be Israel.
My quess is, that Saudi Arabia will be nuked to shredds, thats the best the iranian can do (the long distance warheads wont work) which will have a very negative influence on the west, since the oilsupply will be almost completely cut off and it will take time to substitute the arabian oil with oil from alaska, thanks to Al Gore and the greenish left.
One day, I will go back on this pages and read my own post and add a "I told you so"!
FreeSpirit: A scorched earth policy is the only realistic and long term way to deal with Islam. Islam is like a deadly life threatening cancer and all it takes during the treatment phase is a few missed cells that migrate to a different part of the body, take hold, and return with a vengeance.
For those of you who remember the Star Trek Next Generation series several years ago, there was an overly aggressive alien species named "The Borg" who would alway say, "You will be assimilated, resistance is futile." The Muslims are similar in that they dominate, subjugate, or annihilate all non-Muslims and really do believe that in the long run "resistance is futile." When it comes to Islam, I think the more chemotherapy...the better. This may seem harsh, but that is what Islam intends to do to all Western nations and the Kuffar...and worse.
It sort of looks like APF is on the edge of going postal. When there's no hope left, then one is left with no option but to get reckless with the future. But I don't think APF is that kind of man. Not despairing or stupid. It is easy, though, to lose heart in this struggle, especially when we go through Bush only to end up with the world class hippie-in-a-business-suit, Obama. For the first time in my life, and for the first time in the history of our nation, our own government is the enemy of the people, both at home and abroad. We've had some bad presidents, and we've had some monstrously partisan presidents so corrupt we shudder when we think of them; but this creep is beyond the worst. And the worst of it is that it's not outright corruption that got him into power but the ignorance of the people, a moral ignorance as well as social ignorance. Our intelligentsia is so moral and intellectually corrupt, ignorant, and devoted to their political religion that our whole nation, in fact, the whole world, is suffering now and awaits worse because of the rot that few too few can attempt at this time to cut out. Obama is a symptom of a rotten culture. In looking at our rotten government and our rotten culture and pig hippies "occupying" our nation I could go postal on a bad day. But I like to think that I am somewhat smarter than the last man known for doing that, i.e. Breivik, an utter fool, which I hope I am not, which I am sure APF is definitely not.
Despair, like Breivik's vision of the world, is often a fantasy. No one man's life tells us the whole story, and for the man who is under the impression that in fact one man's life does, and that that man is him, then we find ourselves faced with a Breivik. These narodniks are worthless in a fight. They are no better, and often less interesting, than jihadis. One shot, as it were, and they burn out, nothing left but a bit of tinfoil and burnt flesh to remind us of their miserable selves, or in the case of sh. Yassin, his face being shovelled into a shiny aluminium pail on the tailgate of a small pickup truck in the aftermath of an Israeli missile strike. One man, no matter who, is not much use to our struggle. Breivik is a prime example of it. A hundred Breiviks might have made a difference if they had been organised and effective, but a hundred narodniks are still not what we need to effectively serve our cause.
A hundred Orde Wingates, a hundred White Mice, Nancy Wakes, or a hundred good men who are committed to our mission and take it seriously as a world-plan rather than as a personal vendetta or who burst in rage and harm some poor fellow, who knows who, these are people we need and must find and must work with if we are to win this struggle in spite of our governments being the enemy as well. We need a hundred Lenins and Trotskys and Marats and St. Justs. We need thinking people. Thinking people do not despair because this struggle is not about their moods. We need a hundred William Walkers. We need a hundred men and women who will set aside their personal and private lives, even if those lives are now and then filled with despair, and who will dedicate themselves to making history. There is no set course, history not being some telological plan of "forces" in a dialectic that only Gnostics like Marx can decipher. History is what men and women do, big or small. We make history, right or wrong, and others look at it later, good or ill. But it's up to us, within reason, to make what we will. Obama is proof of Mead's observation that it only takes a handful of men to change the world, and in fact that is the only way to change the world. There will always be such people working to do what they will. One competes, and maybe one wins or at least makes the others lose. A nihilistic outburst or a pacific resignation and retirement to the basement will not help us, as we mostly know here. We need instead only a few people with energy and commitment to have our way, hard though it will be. But one here and one there will do us no good. We have to be united in our cause, but we must be united in place as well or at best we will end up like Breivik, loners howling at the moon and grinning like idiots when we are captured.
We need "Men of Steel." We need a nation. These things are possible. They are necessary if we are to succeed. I want to succeed and I expect that our cause will triumph over the entire world. I can't do anything by myself, but if one were to come to Lima, Peru, I would pay for coffee and we could begin to discuss overthrowing the world order. It would take a serious person to come so far. There is much to discuss here. I look forward to it, even if I have to pay for a hundred cups of coffee every day. No fantasies about what we should do, just the careful and professional planning of what we can do, and what we can do to make it self-financing. It takes a plane ticket and an iron butt to make it so far as the Andes and the Amazon, but once one is here, all things look much better.
I wouldn't be too surprised to find myself talking to an alarmed pig farmer here. Here's hoping.
With one small but well placed nuclear detonation, Iran can completely destroy the U.S. ability to militarily intervene in the Mideast. No, I'm not going to state the location; I'm not going to give them ideas. But people need to understand that events can happen that are nearly unrecoverable, or can only be recovered from using an immense amount of resources.

Yeah right. Amateur hour is nearly over folks.
DDA, I've read AFP's postings for years, and I've definitely seen a shift in the last six to nine months. It isn't just the outlook or tone; there is much more use of affected slang which sometimes seems almost to be a parody.

And soft power worked so well in the 1930s, didn't it?
And this week Time magazine puts "Hillary Clinton & The Rise of SMART Power" on the cover.
I'm sure the likes of Chamberlain, Daladier and Baldwin thought they were using smart power between 1935 and 1939, proof that smart power was anything but smart back then. And it isn't smart now.
I know exactly where you are talking about. But expect the New York Times to reveal this location on its front page anytime soon...
I recall the LA Times revealing that CIA geologists had figured out approximately where Bin Laden was down to a few square miles because of the rock formations his latest video had been filmed in front of were only in a specific location in Afghanistan. Well done for revealing it, you idiots. After that, he always filmed in front of a cloth.
True. Had the present NYT journalists been around in 1944, they'd have revealed the D-Day landing plans, and our troops would have waded into five elephant traps.
Michael Rubin has a good article in today's National Review Online on this subject:
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/print/282466
The article again unmasks Thomas Fingar, Vann H. Van Diepen, and Kenneth Brill as the authors of the 2007 National Intelligence Estimate that played so well into the Iranians' hands. When the bombs start going off please remember these three names. They deserve the same censure that Charles Lindbergh earned circa 1940.
Tom Davis:
Good job, good job. I have mentioned those 3 criminals above, but I did not know their names. EVERYBODY, write their names down. As I said, they should be put on trial. Maybe, we'll have the opportunity some day. They should end up as the defendants at the Nuremberg trial, not as their devoted male groupie Lindbergh, who got away too easy.

And look what other Western dhimmi criminals are doing instead of checking the intolerable Iranian Nuclear Jihad threat: still stomping on the only remaining Serb community left in Kosovo, 12 years after eradicating Serb Christians from the rest of Kosovo:
