Jihad Watch reader Kamala kindly alerted me to jihad bomb plotter Muhammad Yusuf's blog, True Islam. Now that he has been arrested for a jihad bomb plot, Islamic apologists in the U.S. will say that he was a Misunderstander of the Religion of Peace™; ironically, however, he dedicates his blog to clearing up those ever-present misconceptions about Islam:

And obviously he believed that that straight path involved killing kuffar. Yet I doubt that any of the usual suspects among the Islamic spokesmen in the U.S. (Honest Ibe Hooper, Boy Reza Aslan, etc. etc. etc.) will bother to explain to those kuffar just how Muhammad Yusuf came to misunderstand Islam even in the process of clearing up misunderstandings of it, and what they're doing to prevent that from happening in the future.

Those people who use the 'moral equivalence argument' to compare Islam with other religions need to examine their own subconscious psychological motives. They are not only attempting to delude others, but are in deep denial and trying to delude themselves.
The conscious part of the argument takes the form "Christians and Jews have committed atrocities such as the McVeigh, Breivik and King David Hotel bombings, so Christianity and Judaism are just the same as Islam. Therefore Islam poses no special threat."
The fallacies are obvious: Christian and Jewish acts of terrorism are rare and infrequent; they are rejected by the majority of followers of the religions, go against the core teachings of the religions, and are committed by a few isolated loonies. In contrast, Islamic acts of terrorism are commonplace, are encouraged by the Koran and are supported, if not actually carried out, by a substantial proportion of Muslims.
The unconscious and self-deluding part of the moral equivalence argument is the refusal to face the fact that Islam is an intrisically violent totalitarian ideology that has infiltrated our civilization, and is bent on our conversion, subjugation or elimination. To acknowlege this would be deeply disturbing and well outside the comfort zone of most people (remember the popular enthusiasm for appeasement of Hitler and 'Peace in Our Time'?) . So we reassure ourselves, by the moral equivalence argument, that Islam is just like other religions.
It's far easier to stay in denial and regard Islam as being no more threat to our lives and culture than the Quakers or Lubavitcher Hasidim. That way we don't have to worry about the looming global clash of civizations, or think about the unpleasant courses of action that may be necessary to reduce the threat. We can leave that for our children to sort out.

Don't these dumb guys know that all Muslims are part of terror organization called Islam. When the inventor of this cult, Mo/allah, says he has been made victorious by terror and he being the ideal man for Muslims, it follows all Muslims are terrorist in the mold of Mo/allah. Therefore, instead of calling this "lone wolf" activity, it will be suffice to say a Muslim terrorist. But the PC/MC mind set of our leaders always hopes for a non-Muslim terrorist but almost 100% of the time it is always Muslim who is involved in terror activities defending the "honor" of dishonorable Mo/allah!!!
Good point Jaladhi. Political correctness abounds for Islam. Not so for the rest of the worlds religious community. The Southern Poverty Law Center is a prime example of Islamic political correctness and Muslim bias.
It's obviously a carefully designated plan from our politically correct liberal overlords, in all the terrorist plots I've read in the press not one has ever mentioned Islam or Muslims. I'm sure even the average Joe & Joanne Public are putting it together now however, they must be associating all the "Muhammad" names with Islam, even if only in their subconscious.
Can anyone now doubt that the surveillance of all Muslims (including converts) and monitoring of all Mosques (by bugging if necessary) is absolutely essential to public safety?
Muhammad Yusuf's blog is pure, simple Islam without disguise or deception. Who better than a truthful jihadist could teach us about Islam's true nature.

Yes, and how many "lone wolves" does it take to form a battalion? How many followers of al-Alwaki does it take to form a unit of killers? Times Square? Ft. Hood? WHere is the tipping point?
And how much does it cost taxpayers to trail just one (out of millions)of these believers for 2 years? Maybe presidential candidates should compile the growing cost of Islam in the U.S.--the terrorists, the law suits over foot baths and crucifixes, the employment ruses over scanning bacon or wearing hijabs, etc. The direct and indirect costs of having Muslims in your country should be quantified. I'm sure we'd see billion$ in our rear view mirrors.

We could modify that paragraph a little, thus:
"The large-scale presence of Muslims in the countries of Western Europe, and their increasing presence in Canada, the United States and Australia, has led to a situation, for the indigenous non-Muslims and for other, immigrant non-Muslims, that is far more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous than would be the case without such a large-scale Muslim presence."
One may add that the longterm presence of Muslims in large numbers within India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Russia, and their increasing power within sub-Saharan African countries, is also disruptive, expensive and - often - deadly.
