Gingrich: "Palestinians" an "invented people"

Oh crap! Newt just destroyed the Leftist narrative!

Indeed, "Palestinian" has an earlier connotation. That of the "Philistines". Once they left the house, the Romans took over the Holy Land once more and called it "Palestine", then the Ottoman Caliphate took over the Holy Land, it stayed that way until the (Colonialist) British Mandate of "Palestine" came into fruition.

In other words, this "Palestine" is based on ignorance of the land itself, ignorance of former possession of the land, as well as ignorance regarding the Colonial origin of "Palestine".

There is turnstyle and turnspeak. The former isn't a matter of style, it's about the fact that the reverse is usually the opposite of stated ideals or implemented policies.

The subject of Newt is always introduced with a clock-punch that he's smart, so very very smart, the smartest guy in the room. From that I concluded turnstyle, that he's a dumbass. The smarter they tell me a guy is, the dumber he must be.

This rule worked like a charm for me with Barack Hussein, but could I be wrong on Newt?

Also, an observation: you can bet that rat at this very moment Newt is being urged by his advisors to drop Moslems as a topic. And you can also bet the Jews on his team are the loudest with this advice. Not only could it cost him the election, it could cost him, and his immediate associates, their very lives in a big blowup of some kind.

Such truth-telling is way overdue... Maybe he'll start reminding the world that the an Arab state in Palestine has already existed for decades, first as the Emirate of Transjordan and, after that, as present-day Jordan.

I hope Newt is a man of his word and doesn't bend with the political wind. I could never vote for Perry because of his close relationship to Grover Norquist who is is in bed with Islamists nor could I vote for Ron Paul because he is a selfish libertarian who hates Israel.

Would be good if Gingrich becomes President. He is an intelligent person.

Robert, I've seen some ignorant statements from him before, more as you go back further in time, but I've not seen or read anything to label as "cowardly". If you have time, can you post an example?

@ APF Newt also said today he would consider John Bolton as Sec of State. He has also called sharia "evil" several times over the past few months. Newt doesn't strike me as someone who will back down from his positions because an advisor suggests it.

It's encouraging to see a prominent figure like Newt,tell it like it is by not pulling any punches. Although I agree with most of APF's insightful comments, I don't agree with the one posted above.

The brick and mortar language used by Newt, has propelled his poll numbers, it's appealing to voters and character consistant. Pulling punches at this stage of the game, will be picked up as PC/flip flop and will surely act negatively on his presidential aspirations.

I hope he wins the GOP nomination !

This statement from Gingrich is a welcome one and a good beginning. It would be nice to see one of these candidates (even a "trimmer") repudiate the Bush-Saudi "road map" for Israel's dismemberment. When will one of the Republican candidates reject official Republican party policy aimed at the establishment of a Muslim-enemy state in Israel's heartland? Since August 2004, the Republican national party platform calls for Israel's dismemberment at the hands of the jihadists. Not even Michele Bachmann has repudiated this immoral goal. What is wrong with these men and women?

Bang on Newt! He'd make a fabulous president as far as foreign policy goes. There'd be no pandering and muslim butt kissing. Too bad he and I disagree vehemently on what can be described as religious issues. That's where I m always forced to part company with Conservatives. If he just softened his rigid views in that area he'd gain almost all the independent and undecided votes.

Newt is right on the money here, but I'm afraid he's unelectable because he's not slick enough. The US electorate goes for style over content. Joan Peters demolished the the mythical palestinian conflict in 1984 with her seminal work From Time Immemorial. Too bad this book isn't required reading for pol-sci students, although such niceties as facts are slap out of fashion in public discourse these days.

Newt's a pig, sorry for the personal attack on the man but he has little in way of redeeming quality or character. We're all flawed but to be the massively hypocritical bore that Gingrich is. It also bothers me that today he has spoken openly and directly about islam and its threat, he addressed the ones who make this insideous creep of same a thing of acceptance and if challenged your labelled a racist or fool or nazi. To bad he did not say this when he had a chance. He has none.

People who parrot the Muslim line about the Palestinians are allowing themselves to be duped because they don't understand enough to see through Islamic propaganda. The remedy is to do one's homework and get a grip on Islam, but that requires some work and intellectual curiosity, two qualities that most people lack, but which Newt has.
It all really just boils down to the Sharia requirement that Islam is the law of the land, thereby invalidating any acceptance of non-Muslim control over any territory anywhere, particularly somewhere that Muslims used to rule over and that is surrounded by Muslim states and therefore vulnerable. The fact that Israel is full of recent immigrants provides a ready-made excuse for accusing it of being an interloper which displaced an existing population, despite the fact that the early Zionists as well as Arab inhabitants were few in number and that those Jews were largely unarmed and peacefully purchased their property.
The official denial by the PA that Jews ever had a temple in Jerusalem or had historic ties to Israel betrays the real purpose of their agenda, which is total domination.

Gingrich could not be more correct. The word Palestine was given to the region by the Greeks who conquered the area at the time.

The word itself is derived from “Peleshet”, a name that appears frequently in the Bible and has come into English as “Philistine”. The Philistines were not Arab in anyway but Greco/Roman, they did not speak Arab. Another words the term Palestine is a Greo/Roman word.

all Newt has to now is to connect the dots between the Palestinians and Islam.

Oh, no! Politician speaks truth! What's next? Hollywood celebrities marry for life?

Wait for the Sunday news shows and see Newt backtrack or revise his "invented people" remark.(?)

Newt understands something else about islam, EMP.

The United States faces an immediate, existential threat from islam, an EMP attack that could essentially kill everyone in this country tomorrow morning. That is why Iran is working on nuclear weapons, to attack the United States with an EMP weapon. They've said as much in so many word. Finally, a major politician who gets it about islam and is willing to speak about it! How is it that we are not jumping up and down in support of this man? Check out the video that he made caled 'America at risk', which is all about the islamic threat, as well as, his speeches/comments on this subject. The only other politicians who seem to get it are Santorum, Bachmann, and Allen West. He is pushing back against the MSM, Obama's policies (including Obamacare), calling Obama the most radical president in American history, says that the border needs to be sealed. He is a fighter. We desperately need a fighter right now. I believe he is the man for the job. I think people need to drop some of their biases about him and look at him with a fresh open mind, from the perspective of the dire times we are now in. Btw, I like Bachmann and Santorum too but they don't seem to have any traction. The question is do you want Obama, Romney, or Newt. For me, it is a no brainer. Go Newt!!

The Jews are the Palestinians and the "palestinians" are the Palestinians. They're the same people. That's what genetic historical mapping shows. As does archeology and cross-referenced historical records. The only difference lies in religious traditions and cultures that developed over time, and the resultant inbreeding.

Newt Gingrich may or may not be able to win an election against Obama, but there is no way that any of the other GOP candidates could. One thing is for sure: he's the one that should be the candidate, because the debates would be absolutely brutal for Obama. Gingrich would open up a couple of dozen cans of worms and shatter political correctness if given such a platform. It would be a very exciting election filled with surprises and exploding mainstream media heads. The debates would generate gigantic ratings and loads of much needed honest public discussion that would rip through the fog and doublespeak.
