This story is unusual in that it attributes the violence to the "fiery sermons" that the rioters heard. No mention is made (of course) of the fact that the sermons were Islamic and preached in mosques, but that is clear enough from the context. And so for one of the first times ever, Associated Press admits that preaching violence and hate leads people to commits acts of violence and hatred.
Of course, the Left and Islamic supremacists are quick to blame people who have never preached violence and hatred for a madman's act of violence, but their agenda is clear: they're just trying to destroy all those who stand in the way of the jihad and the Islamic supremacist societal agenda. Thus they will never acknowledge their inconsistency in scapegoating people who have never advocated violence for violence they had nothing to do with, while absolving again and again people who do advocate violence for the mayhem that results.
This story is an update on the Iraqi riots that we covered previously here, here, here, and here.
Will there be any discussion in the mainstream media or among policymakers, or among law enforcement officials, for that matter, of the ongoing problem of how Islamic clerics incite Muslims to violence, and what can be done about it? Of course not!
Note also: the Islamic supremacist thugs targeted liquor stores, as is clear from the photo above. They did so because Islam forbids alcohol. Do liquor manufacturers, liquor store owners, bar owners, etc., in the West think that they will be spared as Sharia continues to advance? On what basis do they think so? Because the Muslims here have never done such a thing? Because the Muslims here are different, and don't believe the things that led these Muslims to riot? These are false assumptions, based on nothing but wishful thinking. As the Muslim presence continues to grow in the U.S. and elsewhere in the West, we will start seeing things like this happening with increasing frequency.
I tried to tell you.
"Sermons spark riots in Iraqi Kurdish city," from AP, December 3 (thanks to Kenneth):
BAGHDAD (AP) — Rioters attacked liquor stores, a massage parlor and hotels after being stirred up by fiery sermons in a predominantly Kurdish city in north Iraq, police officials said Saturday. Pro-government crowds then attacked Islamist party offices in retaliation, they said.Thirty people including 20 policemen were reported injured in the rampage, which followed Friday midday prayers in the town of Zakho, some 300 miles northwest of Baghdad. Zakho lies within the territory controlled by Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government.
Some 30 liquor stores, four hotels, and a massage parlor in and around the city near the Turkish border were ransacked, set on fire or otherwise damaged, they said....
"Some 30 liquor stores ... in and around the city near the Turkish border were ransacked ...."
Thirty liquor stores in one city! Considering that Christians make up only one or two percent of the Iraqi population this means that the overwhelming majority of their customers have to be Moslems. Maybe they'll decide they'd rather follow Bacchus and John Barleycorn rather than Mohammed and form their own political party. Judging from the number of liquor stores, it will get a lot of supporters.
Some info about Zakho: it has a population of about 200,000.
from Wiki: "Zakho was formerly known for its synagogues and large, ancient Jewish community .... There were serious attacks on the Jews in 1891, when one of the synagogues was burnt down. The troubles intensified in 1892, with heavy taxes being imposed, outbreaks of looting and Jews being arrested, tortured and ransomed. Jews from Zakho were among the first to emigrate to Palestine after 1920."
So much for the idea of Islamic tolerance.
and also from Wiki: "Zakho is the seat of a diocese of the Chaldean Catholic Church.... The diocese comprises 3500 Catholics, ten resident priests, five religious of the Congregation of St. Hormisdas, fifteen parishes or stations, twenty churches and chapels, and one primary school."
Not very many Christians to support 30 liquor stores.
I contrast the messages between Islamic sermons and the Christian ones: One is to help those who disagree with you by destroying what which you disagree with (what is not yours to do so) and the other is reach out to those who disagree with you and see if they would like some kind of help (not forcing the help upon them).
Very different world views of how to help fix the problems of the world.
As Prez Dubya sits down at this stupid ranch in Crawford, I wonder if it's occurred to his stupid Ivy League Moron mind that maybe Islam ain't really a religion of peace after all.
If he had a TV up there in heaven the night dumbass gave that criminal speech to the nation, the Holy Prophet himself would have been at once both deeply offended and a little embarrassed at how easy the Cause is gonna be.
Black Rain; White Pain
Lo! The fiery Imam was rat on! Beleaguered Moslems must cast off their chains!
Of discrimination, disinformation, perturbation! Soak them in our Islamic rains!
"Like Gandhi & MLK, Moslems must fight for their ideals," said Osama bin-Laden,
Infidel, for your sins against us, for your crimes, we'll leave you cold and sodden.

It's so often the religious leaders that cause so much trouble in these awful Islamic lands (and potentially here too), ever ready as they are to incite their Muslim zombies to religion based violence and thus feel their authority, power and status increased. It's a real power thrill for them.
The absolute contempt with which I now hold the ideology of mohammed may appear hard to reconcile with my liberal outlook on immigration prior to September 11, 2001.
That change in my feelings was not an upwelling of some deep seated racism in me – it was in fact the slow inevitable revelation to me of the core beliefs of the nightmare known as islam and the actions of those that follow this pathetic belief system.
I am a rational individual who has no alternate agenda who likes to work through consensus. I believe whole heartedly in the golden rule and doing unto others as you would have then do unto you.
However, I do not tolerate fools gently particularly those that have their own global agenda to the exclusion of all others, those who are never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever ever, ever, ever, ever wrong and who belief that some magical genie named allah has the absolute right to make laws on every aspect of human life.
The acceptance of islam is a return to the cave, to the mindless belief in the supernatural and an end to self-determination and responsibility for ones own actions.
The acceptance of islam is a return to the dark ages, a stifling of the freedoms, creative juices and intelligence that has created the western societies of incredible tolerance and achievement.
The acceptance of islam means turning one’s back to secular education and to the belief that all that can be learned is contained in the writings of a delusional seventh century madman and pedophile.
The acceptance of islam means losing your own humanity and believing at your core that your honour is more valuable than your children’s lives.
The acceptance of islam means creating a world where hatred, violence, murder, intolerance, death, taqquiya and ignorance rule.
The acceptance of islam means believing the lies of an immigration policy that essentially designed as a form of the colonization of our secular society by a misogynistic faith intent on destroying our very freedoms.
I have seen the enemy and it is islam, it is time to hold it accountable and that means holding its followers responsible. This is our role and we must not waiver .
I have a great deal of admiration for Robert Spencer and Pam Geller and see red when their very valid arguments are dismissed out of hand as islamophobia (I detest that word).
The world needs to learn from these two and to understand the goals of the followers of this corrupted faith. The world needs to together to start telling the truth about the barbarians on our doorstep and to stand up to the ignorant and hate fuelled bully that is islam
Similary mini-intifadas are common in Europe, where neighborhoods surrounding mosques have become no-go areas for non-Muslim businesses and residents.
There's no reason it shouldn't start happening around mosques in America is a few years. http://crombouke.blogspot.com/2010/01/mosque-blight.html
Muslims don't drink cuz they can't handle their liquor.
Is that beer? The bastards. Thank God that we can just brew more.
Very interesting.
Recall that the northern Kurdish area of Iraq was protected by the US during Saddam Hussein's regime. It governed itself, apart from the Iraqi government, and was cited as an example of a functional government, not to mention a relatively safe place to do business.
It's actually kind of sad that the only place in a majority-Muslim community where any type of law or security is able to exist is where a dictator or autocratic family suppresses popular (Islamist) movements, and rules by decree.
Pertinant fact, David.
When it comes to the Christian-managed liquor business in Iraq, it isn't just the Islamist preachers they (the Christians) have to worry about, but the Islamist politicians as well. There has been a campaign underway in Baghdad Province for a few years now, led by PM Nouri al-Maliki's Islamic Dawa Party, to ban liquor sales in the province (such legislation and its enforcement really only affects Christians who are currently the only ones allowed to market and consume alcohol in Iraq).
I always had my doubts about the Kurds and avoided joining others in their condemnation of Saddam's genocide against them. Simple reason - whether or not they are hated by Arabs, Turks or Iranians, at the end of the day, simple fact of the matter is that they are Muslims.
And now, that autonomous region protected by the no-fly zone (is it still in effect?) is the site of new persecution of Christians by this time the Kurds, after being @ the receiving end of the Shia for the past several months.
Honestly, Iraq's Shia regime should start to move against the Kurds. I know they won't do that for the sake of the Christians (unless it's for western consumption, & to persuade the US that they are doing it for them), but get Iraq back into a civil war like b4 b/w Shia, Sunni Arab & Kurds. Once they are that busy, they won't have enough time for Christians.
there may be other contrasts ... for instance: Allah seems to be greedy and has an attribute some would say is blood lust. hardly merciful. not full of grace nor with power to forgive any and all.
and so the listeners in the mosque have little hope and no joy. they go out frustrated and angry to serve self and least of all the least, except when the beggar might beg.
"Is that beer? The bastards. Thank God that we can just brew more."

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!! They'll NEVER get our beer, T!
They'll have to pry our cold, dead fingers.... ;/
Islamic sermons incite Muslims to riot, destroy Christian-owned businesses
..............................
I've heard a fair number of sermons in my time, both Christian and Jewish. Some have been inspirational, stirring, and filled with grandeur. Some have been funny, some have moved me to tears.
Some, I'll admit, I remember rather less fondly. I've heard sermons that were dry, that were less than completely coherent thematically, that were delivered by terrible speakers, that were entirely too politically-correct, that were excruciatingly dull, and over-long to boot.
But even the worst of them was essentially life-affirming.
I have never heard a sermon urging the parishioners to violence against their neighbors, nor could I ever imagine such a sermon.
And if one such were ever delivered, the outcry from the parishioners would be immediate.
Not so in Islam. Following Friday prayers, Muslims have rioted, burned, raped, looted, and murdered their non-Muslim neighbors.
At least someone at the Associated Press finally noticed...
