Again the problem is not the amount of money that the Jizya is, but what ensues after paying it. The Jizya is paid to initiate a "Dhimmah" or "contract", this contract was put into finer details by the Pact of UmarL

We will not sound the bells in our churches, except discretely, or raise our voices while reciting our holy books inside our churches in the presence of Muslims, nor raise our voices with prayer at our funerals, or light torches in funeral processions in the fairways of Muslims, or their markets. We will not bury our dead next to Muslim dead, or buy servants who were captured by Muslims. We will be guides for Muslims and refrain from breaching their privacy in their homes.' I say to those who fear that we might govern, that it was the Muslims who liberated the Copts from Roman slaughter and that Copts are obligated to pay the jizya, and it will only be half a dinar, taken from the rich and given to their poor.

Egypt was part of the Byzantine Empire when Muslim hordes overran the Nile in 642. Christians there had not suffered official persecution for *over three centuries*.

That was soon to change under the heel of Islam, though.

As early as AD 640, the Muslims undertook to impose Jizya on the Copts. This, from Wikipedia:

Why was Cyrus of Alexandria so "eager" to pay Jizya? My guess is that it was simple fear of what the Muslims would do to his flock if he refused...

Well here's another suggestion: arm the Copts the teeth. That way instead of gold, the would be plunderers get lead and lots of it.

Even if the Copts and other Christians were to leave, the Moslems would ensure that the former pay the jizya but holding hostages to ensure compliance.

Personally, I think we should carry out Hugh Fitzgerald's recommendation: make the Arab world play sky high prices for everything. It's already happening to food where the Asians can outbuy the Arabs. How long before the sparce parts and other stuff becomes unaffordable?

Since most Muslims countries have too many people to feed, that is not possible with their current system of corrupt and incompetent "leaders", particularly those who are violent Jew-haters, the only way to get economy going to rob the remaining Copts, who still stay in Egypt. There are no more Jews left in Egypt and thus, Copts are the next victim of these ignorant delusional people sick with superiority COMPLEX since they demonstrated long time ago that they are in every way inferior to the people of the Book! Since their delusional supremacist ideology makes all those successful people into dhimmis, this is the way for those losers to continue feeling good about themselves, rather then working on their futures.
