I can see the "reasoning" that leads them to think that there will be no more virgins, but how women driving will make people gay I can't even imagine.

A scientific report, from "Muslim scholars at the Majlis al-Ifta’ al-A’ala, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council" and a former professor at the King Fahd University.

(1) homosexuality (male, and female lesbianism) actually increased in Saudi society as a result of the enforced segregation of the sexes;

(2) that this was "tolerated" by the religious establishment (particularly if "love" wasn't a factor in such activity or relationships) as an undesirable but necessary side effect of maintaining Arab/Islamic values of family "honor" (closely linked to female virginity);

(3) adultery also increased among neighbors, if they had the opportunity (and, let's not ignore the frequent rapes of foreign household help, whether infidel or Muslim from South or Southeast Asia, by Saudi men); and,

(4) the Internet and inevitable boredom of a repressive religious society feed a frenzy for Internet porn (and, not accidentally, Jihadist mayhem - don't forget the promised eternal erection and 72 houris of paradise for the sexually dysfunctional).

In "Terrorists in Love: The Real Lives of Islamic Radicals," Ken Ballen includes a chapter on a Saudi from the Al al-Sheikh Wahhabi establishment no less (Ch. 6: Kamal: Heir to the Jihadi Thorne and Fortune) who is a homosexual and concludes (quite falsely) from Muhammad's quote that "Islam is on the outside, but real faith is in the heart" that the true message of Muhammad and Islam is about love and bettering oneself and others (the proverbial Greater Jihad) and Islam could only be spread by the heart not the sword. (Ain't no love in Islam for the infidel, and the full weight of factual history and Islamic doctrines come down on the side of the bloody Sword of Islam.)

Even Ballen succumbs to an overdose of wishful thinking in his conclusion that change has to come from within the Muslim world. To quote his NPR interview: “It has to come from clerics who interpret the religion. It has to come from scholars who say that this is not the teachings of the Holy Book. It has to come from the Islamic world itself, not the United States [or outside]. We cannot impose what we want on the rest of the world.”

Well, I beg to differ. The Islamic religious establishment may represent a diversity of views, but that diversity is circumscribed by the narrowness of the faith, and they are all vested in that (even the Sufis). The non-Muslim world, unless it wishes to endure another 14 centuries of Islamic depredations (if it is so lucky), is better advised to: (1) make it clear to the Muslim world that its religious-political-social doctrines and the inherent hostility and negativity those engenders towards non-Muslims will not be tolerated any more, and (2) paint a clear picture of what the consequences will be of its continued practice (I can think of many, as I'm sure most of you who read this can, too).

Change will not come from within the backward, dysfunctional and hostile Islamic world unless there is steady, deliberate, and forceful pressure from outside the Muslim world.

If a Saudi prince hadn’t circled the Earth on the space shuttle in the 1980s, the entire Saudi religious establishment (exemplified by the deceased Bin Baz) would still believe the Earth was flat, as their man-made religious texts and doctrines make clear. (That some still believe this can be assumed, as the Word of Allah remains just that in their restricted worldview.)

One of the main reasons that the royal family keeps power is by letting the mullahs of Saudi Arabia have their way. This includes a religious police force to enforce sharia laws. I began my Islamic education here at JW a few years ago and I was initially in disbelief at Islamic practices.

Stunned I'd tell people "You aren't going to believe this." (i.e. FGM, bestiality, flat earth and a long horrid list of other sub-human barbaric practices).

After all this time I somehow thought I'd read it all. Surprise surprise - one more set of dopey rules for the demented (or demented rules for the dopey).

Many don't believe these idiotic sub-human practices occur, or if they do they think, "Well, that's over 'there'" not here in Canada or in the west.

My main point is that I am and remain extremely grateful to RS, his books and many of you great literate knowledgeable posters. I believe there is no finer group of Freedom Fighters anywhere!

I don't get it. A couple of words of advice for the author 1) For your information, the particular gesture you describe is identified with the coarsest of descriptions for copulation. It is not to be taken as an invitation but as a dismissal 2) You fail to describe how you knew the coffee shop to be filled with women. If they showed their faces then, yes, they were certainly whores. But if they were all niqabed, then you may well have been in a coffee shop for cross-dressers. Best take care...unless that's the kind of action you are actually interested in.
