The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), as our regular readers may remember, is a dhimmi auxiliary of Malaysia’s long-ruling Muslim-led coalition Barisan Nasional (BN). And MCA’s head, one Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, must be some kind of greasy Islamophobe for blatantly stating that hudud laws — Islamic laws regarding sex crimes, apostasy, theft, the consumption of alcohol, etc. — are discriminatory, unfair to women, and would promptly cause poverty and capital flight if fully implemented. A dhimmi like Dr. Chua living under the ‘protection’ of Muslims would be in a unique position to let loose a little of the truth about Islam, yes?
Of course, this admission (which is not the first of its kind) has to be put in its proper political context. Soi Lek is using the ‘hudud’ issue to attack the Islamic supremacist political opposition (PAS et al), which of course strongly favors hudud. Perhaps this ‘Islamophobe’ would be well to recall that his BN Muslim overlords, as Muslims, of course also must favor the eventual implementation of hudud. Muslims of PAS, BN and elsewhere, i.e outside of Malaysia, are fully aware that one can never have just a little sharia — it’s a package deal.
From “Hudud bad for business, says Soi Lek”, by Yow Hong Chieh, The Malaysian Insider, 4 December 2011.
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 “” Investors will flee Malaysia if hudud is made
federal law, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said today.
He said this was because hudud was not fair to all, in particular women, and also prescribed cruel punishments for crimes, contrary to
international convention.
“When our record on human rights is not good and the punishment is
perceived to be cruel, Malaysia’s international standing will drop.
“Then we will have difficulty in attracting investment and even existing investors may pull out,” he told reporters after opening a forum on hudud at Wisma MCA here.
Dr Chua also said the stock market will likely fall 10 to 20 per cent once the Islamic law was enacted and would hit the pockets of local investors as well.
“When all sectors of the economy are affected, all Malaysians regardless of religion… will be affected,” he pointed out.
Dr Chua added that while the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration was “not perfect”, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at least had a clear vision of how to improve the country.
What was that vision again? Something about not resisting Islam?
This was in contrast to the opposition’s uncompromising hudud agenda, which would lead Malaysia down the path to “self-destruction”, he said.
Anything to do with Islam leads down the path of ‘self-destruction’? Rampant Islamophobia!
