Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood spokesman says group won't speak or meet with Israeli officials

The story and the rhetoric change with the audience. Does Mahmoud Ghezlan really suppose the kuffar are too dumb to notice the conflicting messages?

You can't fool all of the infidels all of the time. "Brotherhood vows to shun Israeli officials," from the Egypt Independent, January 25:

The Muslim Brotherhood will not speak or meet with Israeli officials and its stance on Israel is not up for discussion, group spokesperson Mahmoud Ghezlan told London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

“It’s illogical to have dialogue, any dialogue, in light of the Israeli practices against the Arab peoples,” the paper quoted him as saying in an article published Wednesday.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yigal Palmor told Israeli radio that Israel has not ruled out talks.

“We will be happy to hold dialogues with whoever wants to have dialogue with us,” Palmor said.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party controls 47 percent of the seats in the newly formed People’s Assembly, but the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is still running the executive branch of Egypt’s government.

Some fear that Islamists will push for ending the 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

Western officials met with several Muslim Brotherhood and Islamist leaders after People’s Assembly elections.

Ghezlan said the group had not received a similar invitation from the Israeli Embassy in Cairo, but that any such request would be rejected.

"... warfare agains non-Muslim till the world is cleaned for Islam"

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party controls 47 percent…

It's the violent 'Religion of Peace' penchant for using oxymorons, so MB's "Freedom and Justice" mixup, pure deceit. We're not stupid, at least not all of American public.

Cut off aid to Egypt, game's up. There is no "freedom and democracy" in the new Egypt.

Israel conquered the entire Sinai Peninsula from Egypt as a result of the 1967 war that the Arabs started. That is an area nearly the size of Texas. As an act of good will to secure an 'enduring peace', Israel gave this conquered land back to Egypt and received absolutely nothing in return beyond a 'peace treaty'.

Now Egypt wants to throw the peace treaty in the trash. The day they do that, Israel is entitled to reclaim the Sinai Peninsula as its territory.

Islam spread by conquering, and holding, territory acquired by military force. It has never given back an inch except when forced to do so by military defeat. It is time for Israel to play the same game.

Wait, you want the Israelis to talk to the MB but not the Americans?

Hmm.

I thought that Israel had emptied out their embassy in Cairo, and that the new Egyptian government had recalled all officials in Israel.

I expect diplomatic ties b/w the 2 countries to be frozen, if they ain't already, and I expect the Ikhwan to break Camp David, once they capture power in Syria.

Israel is in tough. It is an outpost of Western Civilization surrounded by oriental states.

OT

We have permitted a corrupt orientalism to overspread us, sapping our courage and demoralizing our ideals. Henry Ford

“In Egypt, in Crete, in Mesopotamia, wherever we can read bits of the story, we find the same conditions: a despot enthroned, whose whims and passions are the determining factor in the state; a wretched subjugated populace; a great priestly organization to which is handed over the domain of the intellect. This is what we know as the Oriental state today. It has persisted down from the ancient world through thousands of years, never changing in any essential. Only in the last hundred of years ---less than that---it has shown a semblance of change, made a gesture of outward conformity with the demands of the modern world. But the spirit that informs it is the spirit of the East that never changes.” Edith Hamilton, The Greek Way
That is why zooism, that is, multiculturalism, must be halted and reversed. If not, we will be the architects of our own extinction.

stop the aid to the welfare state and see how fast they cave in.
M

Yep, the sooner Newt becomes US president the better for the US people and the world.

Ooops a daisy.
This sounds like Mo who continues to live in every Muslim.
"a despot enthroned, whose whims and passions are the determining factor in the state;"

"Does Mahmoud Ghezlan really suppose the kuffar are too dumb to notice the conflicting messages?"

Most likely, that is exactly what he thinks.

And really, what has any Western government ever done to make him think otherwise?

They won't meet with Israeli officials because they've made up their minds: they want to see Israel destroyed, so what is there to talk about?

hi there! what does OT mean?
M

OT stands for Off Topic ...

I second that. I use it when I cannot contain my enthusiasm on some new angle and I believe tht everyone needs to know. Of course, they don't but I am like that. How's your azer these days?

thank you! what is Azer?

What is azer?
Persian for fire, hence Azerbaijan.

{يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ۗإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ}

"O you who believe do not take the Jews and Christians as allies, (for they are) allies to one another. Those among you who take them (as allies) is of them. Verily Allah doesn't guide (to the path) the wrongdoers."

{يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ تُلْقُونَ إِلَيْهِم بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِمَا جَاءَكُم مِّنَ الْحَقِّ}

"O you believers, do not take my enemy and your enemy as allies, and be kind to them while they disbelieve in what has come down to you in truth."

{لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَةً لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الْيَهُودَ}

"You will find the worst enemies among mankind, to the believers, (to be) the Jews."

{وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ}

And prepare against them whatever of force and Ribat al-Khayl* (and) terrorize the enemy of Allah and your enemy."

*Islamic Scholar Muhammad Asad said: "Lit., tethering of horses (ribāt al-khayl): an expression which signifies holding in readiness mounted troops at all points open to enemy invasion (thughūr); hence, tropically, the over-all maintenance of military preparedness."

Azer means Anerbaijan and Azeri means some form there. fire in Farsi is atash.

Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood spokesman says group won't speak or meet with Israeli officials

The story and the rhetoric change with the audience. Does Mahmoud Ghezlan really suppose the kuffar are too dumb to notice the conflicting messages?
...................................

Alas, many of them *are* too dumb to notice—or, more precisely, too deep in denial to do so.

More:

Ghezlan said the group had not received a similar invitation from the Israeli Embassy in Cairo, but that any such request would be rejected.
...................................

Perhaps that is because the Israel Embassy in Cairo has been attacked, sacked, and forcibly abandoned. That might have something to do with it...

And if the army decided to scrap the whole business?

When that happened in Algeria the French government knew which side to take, to the bitter dismay of the French left.

What would ours do about a military coup in Egypt?

Or Turkey, for that matter, where the army used to think it was supposed to guard the heritage of Ataturk?

..................................

Not sure what you're on about here. The United States is not about to invade Egypt.

And exactly what is the "whole business"? The Camp David Accords? "Civilian" Islamist rule?

Also, the military wouldn't really need a "military coup" to come to power in Egypt, because they are *already* in power. It is, of course, possible that they won't hand over power to the Salafists and the Muslim Brotherhood, but that seems unlikely.

But are you suggesting we should invade Egypt in this case? Well, NATO attacked Libya and unwittingly ushered in a full Shari'ah regime there—but it would be difficult to argue that that was wise.

As for Turkey, the military *did* safeguard secularism there for many decades. Hardly an ideal situation, but likely better than the alternative.

Largely a moot point, in any case. Edogan has defanged the Turkish military pretty thoroughly, and the whole country is sliding into Islamization.

Not sure *what* outcome you are advocating here...
