When we look closely at the current situation in the Middle East and the Iranian issue, we can see some parallels with the situation of the world community before the Second World War.
At that time, the Nazis, without any significant resistance, had seized power in Germany and Austria, and Italy was their Fascist ally. Islamic supremacists are now also easily seizing power in North Africa, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
Then, and today, Turkey adopted a wait-and-see attitude. During World War II, Turkey signed a non-aggression treaty with Hitler, and only in 1945, when it was clear that the Nazis were defeated, did it declare war on Germany. Today, Turkey is friendly with Iran and the jihadists, as if she is waiting to share in Ahmadinejad's nuclear achievements.
The proof of Turkey's loyalty to Iran and the jihadists is the recent speech of the Prime Minister of that country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, about the State of Israel. In addition to denouncing Israel for possessing a nuclear bomb, he accused Israel of state terrorism.
Also noteworthy were his words about the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire. Erdogan, foaming at the mouth, insisted before the global community that the killing and expulsion of 1.5-million Armenians in modern Turkey was not an act of genocide.
Long ago, after the Islamic revolution in Iran, its leaders chose the path of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad, the Koran and Sharia. They are threatening to destroy the U.S., Israel and the Jewish people. If we compare the Ayatollah Khamenei and other leaders of Iran to Adolf Hitler and other Nazis, we will find similar words and phrases -- and not only similar words, but similar actions.
Many of us ask ourselves: when will the war start? Is it even going to begin? Maybe the international sanctions will help the world and civilization, and bring the Iranian mullahs and president to their senses, so that they will give up their nuclear ambitions. Maybe they will move jihad terrorist organizations to take up the path of the genuinely righteous, such that they will renounce violence.
Those were the same kinds of things that our ancestors were thinking in the thirties, when the Nazis gained power in Europe. And we all know what sacrifices humanity had to make in order to eradicate Nazism.
Do we really need to wait for the coming of the new Fuehrer, the caliph, to understand what is wrong with our analyses and hopes today?
It is certain that the leaders of Muslims worldwide, a significant number of them, are praying and working for one and the same goal: a jihad against the infidels. The Mufti of Jerusalem during World War II called for the destruction of Israel and Jews. Abu Mazen wants to expel Jews from the so-called east Jerusalem, and from Judea and Samaria. Muslim leaders around the world supported the Mufti and support the "Palestinians" now.
Once, at a regular meeting with the leader of the Jihad in the Caucasus, I asked the question: how are you going to win the war, when there are so many differences among various sects in Islam? He replied: "Allah loves diversity. We have our differences, but we all believe in Allah and the Prophet Muhammad and recognize Sharia, and we know that we are waiting for the terrible meal, if we abandon jihad." He was referring to the Koran's description of the people in hell being tortured with, among other things, food that is disgusting and painful to eat.
I hope that the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama will remember the story of Pearl Harbor: that slowness and hesitancy in the face of a regime that is willing to use brutal force, such as the Iranian regime, only plays into the hands of the enemy.
As for Obama and hope, change his name to Al Bama and you have your answer.

I just sent this email to CBC's Point Of View.
The Shafia Trial should also be seen as The Sharia Trial; Islam itself was on trial. Islam allows grandparents and parents to kill their own children; barbaric culture aids and abets. The two, Islam and barbarism are inextricably linked. Westerners of all political stripes might agree on this common goal: the pursuit of a just society. The features of a "just society" differ and the adoption or non-adoption of such features are fought for and won in the democratic arena. Islam is of the East and fixed in its spirit and remains essentially unchanged over thousands of years. This should cause a serious reflection on the wisdom of allowing Islamic immigration to this peaceable country.
Well-written article, Joseph, and keep up the good work. I recently read a biography of Georgia's most famous son and learned much about the character, tactics, and strategies needed to turn back the Islamic hordes. I can also see the eventual need for an organization along the lines of SMERSH.
The UN had just released a report on 'a future worth choosing'. The BBC article states:
No doubt the UN had not factored in the Jihad syndrome of perpetual wars plaguing 'underdevelped' countries, nor that Sharia law keeps them forever mired in the 7th century. It's the Islam "multiple crises now enveloping the world" that drives such 'underdevelopment' on the planet. But then to think the UN report would notice is too much to ask of them. The Islamic Caliphate will soak the 'developed' West for more jizya, send more money, so all economic 'inequality' eradicated equally with universal poverty; women kept out of view solves 'gender inequality', sustainable 'growth' with 7th century agricultural techniques. Problem solved, carry on, nothing to see here. Move along.
You got me laughing to myself BofT with,
"Problem solved, carry on, nothing to see here. Move along."
Yes Sir and over the cliff I go.
"Yes Sir and over the cliff I go. Oooooooooops." Splat.
Oh dear! Watch those analogies, don't throw these boomerangs around so carelessly..
From the article, right off the bat:
"At that time, the Nazis, without any significant resistance, had seized power in Germany and Austria, and Italy was their Fascist ally. Islamic supremacists are now also easily seizing power in North Africa, Afghanistan and elsewhere. [..] Then, and today, Turkey adopted a wait-and-see attitude. During World War II, Turkey signed a non-aggression treaty with Hitler [..]"
What global power has been the prime mover/ally of this "Arab Spring" thing, selling it as the spread of "democracy," while it has clearly favoured Islamic supremacists seizing power? And who has been forcing Turkey upon Europe for several decades now? The US sponsoring of Turkey is a perfect example of how US progressivist interventionism has facilitated the dissolution of national borders and the Islamization of Europe, so please, read this:
// How the US political establishment forced the Turks upon Germany. //
Analogy's a b*tch..

From Gates of Vienna article, Permanent Guests:
Short sighted German/American/EU policies continued the practice of allowing millions of Islamics into their labor force, not always as 'laborers' but as 'family dependents' living off the welfare largess of the state, now coming to plague them with unassimilated populations civilizationally hostile to Western democratic values and norms. The Fuhrer would have never guessed this 'self-genocial' future for Europe. The guest chickens have come home to roost and foul their nest. Such the price of Islamo-ignorance in Europe and the West. Nothing is irreversible, but clean up will be a bitch.
I'm afraid this may indeed be irreversible. National borders (in the West, anyway) are permeable to an extent not dreamed of only fifty years ago.
Globalization and the need for resources found primarily in Muslim-dominated countries mean the leaders in both business and politics will always be telling us just how 'moderate' Muslims are.
Diversity has trumped defense. We let huge populations of Muslims into this country AFTER we were attacked. Before you know it, we in the west will be reduced to outposts of sanity in a muslim-dominated nightmare. Minneapolis will seem long ago and far away.
The closest we'll come to reversing it is if we actually suffer an attack that forces our leaders to close the West to all Muslims for at least a century. Even then, clean up will be nigh impossible.
"Nothing is irreversible, but clean up will be a bitch."
Yep. The triple double Es: declare "Existential Emergency", implement "Emergency Ethics, proceed to "Emergency Eradicated". Start again with the progressive Left until the triple double Es are required again.
Hi BoT -
"The Fuhrer would have never guessed this 'self-genocial' future for Europe."
Indeed.
No need to underline that the native populace of all these diverse European nations never wanted this nor had their say. The whole thing - very clearly, in this particular case - was forced upon us by US progressivists in power (call them "neo-Wilsonians" if you like) aided by EUssr accomplices. Lesson still to be learned: Americans, watch your own national borders, and keep a weather eye on these bipartisan progressivists vying for power. I mean: NAU/NAFTA anyone? A please, take notice when some smooth talkin' chickenhawk draft-dodger seems to have more concern for imaginary US borders in some foreign deserts, while sporting a voting record testifying to the fondness for every internationalist political treaty that will undermine America's own.
Take care,

Erdogan, what a dishonest jerk. The Turks massacred most of my family in 1915 along with 1.5M other Armenians. It was a planning genocide. It's been fully documented by historians. All the evidence is there for anyone to see.
"I hope that the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama will remember the story of Pearl Harbor: that slowness and hesitancy in the face of a regime that is willing to use brutal force, such as the Iranian regime, only plays into the hands of the enemy." (Joseph Zaalishvili).
I hope that this American administration and future administrations will remember that Pearl Harbor was a military target, and the attack was partly provoked by an American naval oil blocade against Japan to force the Empire to stop waging a brutal imperialistic war in Eastern China and American interests in the Pacific. Also, that it was primarily an ideological conflict as Japan on September 27, 1940 had signed the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy. After 9/11 we live in a new world defined by clashes between civilizations as we have seen in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the unnecessary war against Iraq resulting in the strengthening of the shi'ite axis running from Iran to Syria, Libanon, and to Hamas in Gaza. It is a very delicate situation which calls for both caution and determination.
President Roosevelt did not show any slowness or hesitancy but used military means against Japan - a naval blockade - and assisted England with arms from March 1941 with the Lend-Lease law thus circumventing the U.S. neutrality and non-interventionist policy established after WW I. That creativity brought the President close to being impeached. One day after the attack on Pearl Harbor President Roosevelt made his famous 'Infamy Speech' in Congress describing the previous day as "a date which will live in infamy". Within an hour of the speech, Congress passed a formal declaration of war against Japan and officially brought the U.S. into World War II.
There was no slowness or hesitancy on the part of the U.S. administration. Roosevelt was determined to fight for the survival of democracy against the fascist dictatorships, the sooner the better. You must be thinking of the appeasement initiatives towards Nazi-Germany from british politicians such as Neville Chamberlain who would go to almost any length and give every concession to Hitler to avoid a major European war.
The U.S. lost its most important ally in the Middle East - Iran - to the Islamic fundamentalists because President Cater did not grasp the situation and hesitated, and when he acted it was too little and too late even to save the Americans taken hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Theran. President Reagan was brilliant in supporting Iraq in its war against Iran, thus exploiting the sunni-shia split to maximum advantage to the West, and at the same time bringing the Soviet Empire to its knees.
All options are on the table, Obama said to Iran, but time is running out if Iran should be prevented from acquiring nuclear weapons and thus change the delicate balance of power in the ME making it even more volatile and initiate a nuclear arms race in the region. Best option seems to let Israel do the job with secret American help and support if the sanctions are not forcing the Iranians to give up their nuclear arms program. Sanctions did not stop Japan from its imperialists ambition and they are obviously more rational thinkers than the mullahs in Theran. So anything is possible.
I hope that the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama will remember the story of Pearl Harbor: that slowness and hesitancy in the face of a regime that is willing to use brutal force, such as the Iranian regime, only plays into the hands of the enemy.

Joseph, Barack Obama is a child of the American New Left, so the first enemy is white, bourgeois, and Christian (now Jewish as well). His redeeming feature is that he is able to learn (as witness the just-got-kicked-in-the-外卵 look he had after his first national security briefing as president.
The problem with Iran is that it is a large country with a lot of rough terrain, in which fighting a war would be very difficult, unless the USA were to use methods that it fundamentally abhorrs. Further, there is the danger that an outside invasion would make it like China in the '30's in the face of Japanese invasion, only an even more cohesive country than China was at that time.
I suspect that the USA, in dealing with Iran for the near future, will have to make it clear that there's an American nuclear umbrella over a number of other countries, and if Iran violates that, it can expect the destruction of several of its most strategic and populous sites within 24 hours. Even Man-Monkey-feces-thrower Ahmadinejad probably understands that not even the Twelfth Imam will emerge from his hole in Mashad to save him in such a scenario.
I wrote a fictional book about this, "Amsterdam 2012". It is shocking how much I wrote about has come true, including the close parallels to WWII, the disorganized Republican primary, Iran, Somalia, Nigeria. In reality, it looks like the inciting incident will happen in Denmark, not Amsterdam. But it could happen any day now.
