Somalia: Misunderstanders of Islam publicly flog convert from Islam to Christianity

Muslim spokesmen such as Salam al-Marayati, M. Cherif Bassiouni, and Ali Eteraz, all of whom (among many others) assure us that Islam has no death penalty for apostasy, despite Muhammad's words, "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him" (Bukhari 9.84.57). Somehow these Somali Muslims have misunderstood Islam in the same way Muhammad did. But they didn't kill her, so apparently they're moderates.

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 10 (CDN) — A Somali convert from Islam was paraded before a cheering crowd last month and publicly flogged as a punishment for embracing a “foreign religion,” sources said. Sofia Osman, a 28-year-old Christian from Janale city in Somali’as Lower Shabelle region, had been taken into custody by Islamic extremist al Shabaab militants in November; the public whipping was meant to mark her release. She received 40 lashes on Dec. 22 while jeered by spectators.
“Osman was whipped 40 lashes at 3 p.m., but she didn’t tell what other humiliations she had suffered while in the hands of the militants,” an eyewitness, told Compass, adding that whipping left her bleeding. “I saw her faint. I thought she had died, but soon she regained consciousness and her family took her away.”

The whipping was administered in front of hundreds of spectators after Osman was released from her month-long custody in al Shabaab camps. Nursing her injuries at her family’s home, in the days after the punishment she would not talk to anyone and looked dazed, a source close in touch with the family said. She has since been relocated.

“Please pray for her quick recovery,” the source said.

Janale, one Somalia’s major cities, is about 200 kilometers (124 miles) from Mogadishu.

Osman became a Christian four years ago and was a member of the underground church in the war-torn Horn of Africa country largely controlled by the al Qaeda-linked militants from al Shabaab....

The religion of peace, Islam, is but a piece of religion. The larger part is military (jihad) and political (worldwide caliphate). All muslims are soldiers in Allah's army. Hence, apostasy is desertion in the face of the enemy during war. I am surprised that she was not killed outright but some muslim may get more devout and carry out Moe's command. Head banging and other muslim rituals should be seen as nothing more than soldiers' drills and indoctrination. The skit below is for distribution by anyone who seeks to undermine Islam as primarily a relgion and strip away this cover. Doing so will help the cause of saving the West.

The difference between the West and Islam
The West pursues greater truths with smallish falsehoods; Islam pursues greater falsehoods with smallish truths. And those smallish truths are hyper-magnified by those who are lazy and objectively inferior in order to feel subjectively superior and demand unfair advantage over all others. This leads them to stick together like fresh snot to a screen door (ummah cohesion above all) . Hence, Islam versus the West. And you can quote me on that.

These are the saints, confessors and martyrs of the Church in Somalia. May that 'underground' church keep on growing so fast in so many different places that the jihadis simply won't have the time or manpower to track them all down.

And although Somali Muslims can be amongst the worst of the worst here in dar al Harb, there is also, outside Somalia, a steady persistent trickle of Somali converts out of Islam, to Christianity (or, like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, to the western 'path of reason'). One Alaskan Infidel, long a regular poster at this forum (I hope he's OK, he hasn't posted for a very long time now), actually encountered such ex-Muslim Somalis - Christians, in that instance - as well as Somali Muslims, in the course of his work as a pest exterminator. He remarked on the contrast in atmosphere between the Christian Somali households and the Muslim Somali households. It was as simple and deep as this: the Somali Christians had their windows open and the light streaming in; the Somali Muslim households were 'closed' and dark.

I'm thinking that each of the DHS agents assigned to monitor JW has someone in their life or family who is a Christian. Perhaps the fond grandparent who gave them lots of hugs and homemade sweets as a child, or a sibling or cousin. They have likely celebrated Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter every year of their lives. Yum!! Well, this story lets us all know what the Quran thinks of them:Christians should be driven 'underground' 'beaten' while a crowd sneers in derision. I'm glad the DHS is forced to watch the jihad with us! Soon they'll understand our concern. They'll be on our side! (and if not- they'll be without Excuse)

I've said it many times and I'll say it again: Islam is a Crime Syndicate masquerading as a relgion.

I'll give you an example: Not so many years ago, I lead an army in Central America that went against about 6,000 thugs that were kidnapping children and then raping them. Of course these thugs didn't get anyone's blessing because they committed these crimes in a non-Muslim country. These thugs aren't doing anything anymore. I'm sure you get the drift.

The Crime Syndicate of Islam, masquerading as a religion does the same thing, but with the blessing of the Islamic Shariah Law. Depraved Muslim males don't kidnap children, but, nevertheless, force underage children, sometimes as young as five years old to "marry" them. Then, what do these depraved Muslim do? They do the same thing that the thugs that we eliminated did. The depraved Muslim males proceed to rape the underage little girls. So, it's tantamount to the same thing that the criminals that we eliminated were doing. If I had the means to eliminate depraved Muslim males, that are preying on little children, I would.

P.S. WE MUST DESTROY THE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY OF ISLAM BEFORE THE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY OF ISLAM DESTROYS US "INFIDELS," AND A FEW VERY GOOD MUSLIMS.

PCPCP, don't count on it. The people, at least many of them, of DHS are also very evil. People on the LEFT, the liberals, are generally very evil people.

Did you know that "President" Barack Hussein Obama voted for infanticide when he was a representative in Illinois? He did. I don't know if you have heard of partial-birth abortion. In partial-birth abortion, sometimes the child is taken out alive, and then allowed to die. This was okay with Obama. So, that tells me that people on the LEFT, at least many of them, are very cruel. They are cold hearted, just like the depraved Muslims.

This is disgraceful. She is an apostate. A mere flogging is insufficient punishment. Why didn't they kill her ? Is Islam going soft. Allah and his 'Prophet and Messenger' will not be pleased. Someone is going to suffer come Judgement Day.

And of course if she remains a Christian, her skin will be eternally burned off in Hell as she repeatedly consumes a drink likened to that of molten brass...... as will be the case for all of us infidels...... Save yourself, all you Jihadwatchers, convert to Islam, learn the correct answers for Munkar and Nakeer, earn a perpetual Allah endowed erection, 72 houris and 80,000 servants...... meet friends in the Heavenly market-place and feel the cooling wind blow steadily from the North. Remember dear old Allah is very ackbar, Jesus is a Muslim and Islam is the genuine Religion of Peace......any member of the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah and Muslim Brotherhood will confirm this.

Yes I have heard of the infant butchery of which you speak, and yes I know Obama supported it. And I also know that these DHSers are only human and liable to see the light just like anyone else. Note also, that my statement provided an "if not..."
But thanks for tour comment. I agree that a lot of what the Quran calls for is highly criminal.
I'm still glad the DHS is tuning in.
