Why The President Should Speak Out Against Religious Persecution

Yesterday on Christian Solidarity International (via RaymondIbrahim.com), I discussed the many reasons why a president of the United States -- I don't name any, specifically, lest I be accused of great naivety -- should speak up on behalf of the religious minorities being persecuted, cleansed, or merely oppressed under Islam. [Note: If, while reading the following article, you wish to tell the current president to stand up for religious minorities in the Islamic Middle East, sign CSI's petition]:

On January 24, during his State of the Union Address, the president of the United States has a chance to expose the plight of religious minorities living in Muslim majority nations. Doing so would not merely shed light on one of the most ignored humanitarian crises of the 21st century; it would help alleviate it.

Why should the president speak up on the oppression of religious minorities? For starters, because it is the right thing to do, and reflects American values and principles.

He should speak up because religious cleansing is currently underway in nations like Nigeria, where Boko Haram—"Western Education is Forbidden"—and other Islamic groups have declared jihad on the Christian minorities of the north, killing and displacing thousands, burning and bombing hundreds of churches, most notoriously this last Christmas, where over forty people were killed while celebrating Christmas mass. Likewise, since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, about half of Iraq's one million Christians have been forced by targeted violence to flee their homeland, the most notorious incident, again, being a church attack, where some 60 worshippers were killed.

He should speak up because churches are constantly being attacked, burned, or forced into closure, not just in Nigeria and Iraq, but in Afghanistan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia (click on country-links for the most recent examples). In Egypt alone, after several churches were burned, thousands of Christian Copts gathered to demonstrate—only to be slaughtered by the military, including by being run-over by armored vehicles.

He should speak up because Muslim converts to Christianity are regularly ostracized, beat, killed, or imprisoned—recent examples coming from Algeria, Eritrea, Kashmir, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, and even Western nations. Iran's Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, whose plight actually made it to the mainstream media, is but one of many people imprisoned and tortured for simply following their conscience and converting to Christianity. Uganda offers a typical example: there, a Muslim father locked his 14-year-old daughter for several months without food or water, simply because she embraced Christianity. She weighed 44 pounds when rescued.

He should speak up because Christian girls are being abducted, raped, and forced to convert to Islam—recent examples coming from Egypt, India, Pakistan, and Sudan. In Pakistan alone, "a 12 year-old Christian [was] gang raped for eight months, forcibly converted and then 'married' to her Muslim attacker." Now that she has escaped, instead of seeing justice done, "the Christian family is in hiding from the rapists and the police." Earlier in Pakistan, a 2-year-old Christian girl was savagely raped and damaged for life because her father refused to convert to Islam...

Raymond: here is what they all say: we bring it to their attention in private, which essentailly means BS.

Perhaps most importantly, the president of the United States should speak up because we live in a day and age where the reality of religious persecution under Islam is so well documented—unlike in the days of former U.S. presidents who may be excused—that to continue ignoring it is tantamount to abetting it. Just as history has recorded the great sufferings of non-Muslims under Islam, so too will it record the complacency or complicity of those who are in a great position to end the persecution, but refuse to do so.

Yes, there is no longer any valid excuse for not speaking out against well documented Islamic violence, religious persecution, Taqiyya deceits, and Sharia supremacist intentions, past and present. Our Commander in Chief -sworn to honor and defend our US Constitution- should be first to speak up. Newt Gingrich may be first to do so.

Great leaders:

"So long as there is this book there will be no peace in the world." William Ewart Gladstone (1809–1898)

“The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.” Winston Churchill, The River War 1899

“As the essential principle of his [Muhammad’s] faith is the subjugation of others by the sword; it is only by force, that his false doctrines can be dispelled, and his power annihilated.” John Quincy Adams writing in about 1829

Isn't it funny, the apex of religious freedom in the Muslim realm occurred in the bad old days of colonialism.

Meanwhile, Obama obviously has other priorities than speaking out on behalf of the victims of Islamic persecution.

You think a President with half his family being Muslim and who goes around the world apologizing to Muslims will ever bring up Christian, Jew or Hindu or any non-Muslim persecution in Muslim lands!! Ha, ha,.. Good luck!! It will never happen!! There is no way around it besides fighting with them as Muslim only understand policy of force and nothing else.

I think Rick Santorum has made the most important point yet in the debates when he noted that a president has an obligation to tell the American people the honest truth instead of worrying about diplomatic niceties all the time.
A case in point was when the Iranian Green Revolution arose and Obama claimed that he was keeping quiet so as not to give the Iranian regime an excuse to claim that the protest was a US plot. His point had some merit, but his first obligation is to his electorate, to explain to them, loudly and clearly, that America stands for freedom and deplores the human rights violations in Iran.
That's why Ronald Reagan was a leader and Obama is not.

"...And so remember this Christmas: if you are a free human being, whether or not you are Christian, those Christians who are being persecuted in Iraq, and the Philippines, and Nigeria, and Egypt, and Pakistan, and elsewhere in the Islamic world, are standing in your place. The jihadis would just as soon attack you as well, and will eventually if they get the chance. Remember that the Islamic supremacist program has you on its list. You may not be a Christian. You may not be a Jew. You may not be a Hindu. You may not wish to pay attention to the jihad at all. But the jihad is universal, and relentless. And you are on its list.

...It is time to fight for our life."

Yes, the president should speak out against these heinous crimes, but he won't. At this point the best course of action is to make sure that this man does not get re-elected. Nobama 2012!

Write to Obama - tell him to speak up.

Just dont say what he should do here.

Barry Hussein and Hillary Hamhocks are not about to speak out against Islamic persecution and subjugation, which are, after all, the raison d'etre of that odious creed. To them, as to the journalistic and academic establishments, Muslims are brown, oppressed, colonized, "The Other," and must be defended at all costs against exposure, analysis, criticism, or mockery. Let Christians be crushed, as long as their smelly little orthodoxy may go unchallenged.

And let no one suppose that Barry Hussein is either a Muslim, as some of his detractors charge, or a Christian, as his defenders would have it. He only venerates the deity he sees in the mirror.

Hear, hear! I am ready for a president to speak the truth about Islam. That's why I support Gingrich for 2012. That's the only reason, actually.

"Barry Hussein" :-) is certainly a TRUE Christian
... as Robert Spencer explains in this video:

Is Obama a Muslim?

If you think Obama Should Speak Out Against Religious Persecution - WRITE to him. Make your feelings clear - instead of moaning and winging.

The problem with speaking out for the rights of religious minorities is that Muslims think it should apply to them and their theo-politic doctrine of hatred and evil.

Please read and sign this petition http://campaigns.csi-usa.org/index.php?id=1Obama (Urge President Obama to Defend Mideast Christians!)

Frankly, I don't think Obama can speak up against religious persecution of Christians in Muslim lands. For one thing, he has made it a point to prove that he is no "Islamophobe"; for another, he's politically way too beholden to supporters on America's immoderate Left who sincerely wish they had either the 外卵or the raw power to do some of the same things to at least traditional Christians in the USA.

Ain't ever gonna' happen under Obama. The only arguable good thing about Obama is that he represents the nadir of awareness by an American Chief Executive of all the liberty crushing doctrines and pathologies in Islam, so that there's nowhere to go but up after him. God help us if he isn't the low point.

Obama? Criticize the butchering of religious minorities in Islamic nations? Here are some real possible reasons of why he will not do it:
1-He does not care
2-He is scared of being called Islamophobe and thus bringing the wrath of Muslim world.. ( he would hate that)
3-He ENDORSES it deep inside his 'black soul' (black as in dark and lack of light..which I believe he has)--don't wanna be called a racist! : )
4-He's just waiting until it gets really bad...maybe 50, or 150 people being killed is not enough and worth the stress..maybe when a FEW thousands are blown to smithereens and a few dozen churches are burned down all in one SHOT...maybe...maybe he will come forth....or maybe instead he'll send Hillary to do it...ANYWAY...don't hold your breath people....

If the official Defenders of the Faith in Vatican City refuse to put it in such stark terms, why expect POTUS to bother with it?

At least, Bingo, Bendedict has gone far further than Barack in conveying to us all what Islam intends for all of us. And the Pope has no divisions at his disposal, while the POTUS has the enormous advantage of being able to intimidate the thugs of this world with the greatest military the world has ever known. Benedict, I submmit to all, has pretty much made the most of little and Barack has made the littlest of most.

I not holding my breath........

The POTUS is who and what he is, which is why he will ignore institutionalised Islamic terror, beheadings, subjugation of women, religious persecution, duplicity, racism, slavery, honour killings and other Sharia-sanctioned acts of savagery - whilst targeting Islamophobia and criticism of Islam.

America will survive Obama and a dozen Obamas, albeit with difficulty, but she will never survive the type of people who would want to make him their President.

Fair enough. If he feels uncomfortable doing it himself, I wish the Holy Father would quietly appoint attack dogs in the priesthood who would address the situation on TV. Or even the internet.

------------------------------

I read a lot of Obama hate on this thread but I'm not convinced any other POTUS would have mentioned this matter either. The region is voting itself back in to the Dark Ages. Talking about that would be a major buzz kill at a State of the Union.

I agree with you, Bingo, that it is unlikely that a John McCain or anyone else who would be President now would have brought up the fact that Islam is the most intolerant religion on earth and that Christians are being persecuted by Muslims in many Muslim nations. Still, Obama is, I think, the low point, at least I hope he is, in sucking up to Islam. Bush was not good. Obama has been worse.

Pope Benedict has attempted far more than either Bush or Obama to warn the world about Islam, but he has to be careful considering all the Catholics and Catholic clergy who still live in many Muslim nations, small minorities though they are. Soon, very soon, we will need a President who is prepared to directly point out that residing in Islam are doctrines, like death for apostasy and severe punishment or death for criticism of Islam or Mohammed, which are simply not compatible with Western values and the American Constitution. Don't think right now I see such a person in sight (other than Allen West), though such a person is far more likely to come from the Republicans than the Democrats and, of course, this person has to be electable in the first place. Still a lot of troubled waters ahead, that's for sure.

Caliph-in-Chief Obama doubled over the same nonsense about Iran being "disabled" and Israel being "sanctified"

He stressed the harmonic and democratic overhauls that were successful throughout the Middle East. As antithetical to reality as it may sound...

At this rate I fear that those who aren't being heard or represented properly will take drastic steps to ensure that they do.

First they came for the Christians...

"Judge Rules Obama Must Prove Presidential Eligibility In Georgia Courtroom On Thursday"

January 23, 2012 By Doug Book ...

"For those who have waited 3 years for a judge to finally rule that Barack Hussein Obama must prove that he is legally and Constitutionally qualified to run for or serve as President of the United States, the day may have come at last."

"For on Friday, Georgia State Office of Administrative Hearings Judge Michael Malihi ruled that subpoenas demanding the presence of Barack Obama in his Georgia courtroom on January 26th along with the original form of his Hawaii birth certificate and information on his myriad Social Security numbers will remain in force."

"Obama's attorney Michael Jablonski had filed a motion to quash those subpoenas, arguing if Obama were made to answer questions before the court it would '…[require] him to interrupt duties as President of the United States.'"

"It was also Obama's claim that 'presidential electors and Congress, not the State of Georgia, hold the Constitutional responsibility for determining the qualifications of presidential candidates.'"

"Well Judge Malihi did not agree with Obama's arguments that the laws of the State of Georgia were somehow irrelevant to the process, or that his presence in the court would materially interfere with his ability to discharge the duties of his office."

"In his decision to allow the subpoenas to remain in force, Malihi wrote, '…Defendant (Obama) has failed to cite any legal authority evidencing why his attendance is ‘unreasonable or oppressive, or that testimony…is irrelevant, immaterial, or cumulative and unnecessary to a party’s preparation or presentation at the hearing, or that basic fairness dictates that the subpoena should not be enforced.'"

"In short, as Judge Malihi so eloquently put it, 'Defendants motion to quash is denied.'"

"The process before Judge Mahili began when a number of Georgia residents filed 3 separate lawsuits demanding that Barack Obama provide evidence of having met State of Georgia election law requirements before being placed on the ballot. Malihi agreed with the plaintiffs, quoting in his ruling Georgia law which states '…every candidate for federal office shall meet the constitutional and statutory qualifications for holding the office being sought.'"

"In that ruling, Mahili stated 'the court finds that the defendant (Barack Obama) is a candidate for federal office who has been certified by the state executive committee of a political party and therefore must, under Code Section 21-2-5, meet the constitutional and statutory qualifications for holding the office being sought.'"

"Though Obama has managed to ooze his way out of legal responsibilities and requirements in the past, this time it really might be a bit thick for the acting president. Even the radically leftist Southern Poverty Law Center has decided to weigh in, giving vent to a typically childish attack of spleen in its “Hatewatch” column no less, where it snivels '…Malihi's decision has been heralded far and wide as a defining moment for those who have hounded Obama about his lineage.'"

"Apparently demands that Barack Hussein Obama actually abide by the laws of the land and the Constitution of the United States make for a clear case of “hounding” to an organization known to file suit at the drop of a conservative hat."

"Here's hoping Judge Malihi's courtroom turns liberal petulance to leftist rage on January 26th. For Malihi's ruling that day will determine whether or not Barack Hussein Obama may be certified by the Democrat Party to appear on the Georgia ballot in November. And as the Liberty Legal Foundation explains it, 'without such a certification from the Party, Obama will not appear on any ballot in the 2012 general election.'"

Breaking! ALERT! Obama Summoned to Appear in Georgia Eligibility Hearing!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGgDLnjYotM&feature=player_embedded

I hate to go all, "Paul Harvey" on you, but your headline: "Why The President Should Speak Out Against Religious Persecution" begs for "The Rest Of The Story", "And Why He Won't" is the rest of the story. "His" whole demeanor, as exhibited by "His" actions, exudes, nay, screams, " I Am the Law!". "There Is No Other!" I've said for years now, "It's Coming". Well, now it's almost upon us. Are you ready?

Like I mentioned in a few of my previous comments on JW... the whole world of "INFIDELS" are running out of patience with the inbred-evil muslim world. There will soon be a catastrophic backlash and these muslims will not find any place to hide in... no rocks or stones to hide under and no trees to hide behind. Their evil cult so-called "islam" will be annihilitated along with them. Just be patient and watch

"Just be patient and wait" ?
To be patient and wait means we will patiently wait for our destruction first as nation and then civilization.
No! We have been patient and waited for too long. We must act now by stopping and reversing the mohammedan immigration and do waht is mecessary and possible to help the Christians trapped behind the enemy lines.

I meant of course "watch" not "wait". Not that the outcome would be any different...

ISLAM ITSELF is incompatible with US Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and MUST reform. All those countries which refused to sign the 1948 UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights should be kicked our from UN and their diplomats refused visa to enter UN. Holocaust deniers, such as Ahmdeinijad and Abbas should NOT get visas to enter US and European countries and Australia to spread their delusional Jew-hatred in the ignorant masses.

Western civilization is under attack by the jihadists, and Islam is being white washed by the politically correct fools who behave like ostriches hiding their heads in the sand.

Obama naivety when it comes dealing with Islamist and their apologists in the West is incredible. NO sane person will "negotiate" with Jihadists, such as Muslim Brotherhood, and Taliban who stand against EVERY civilized ideas that we protect in the US Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Wasn't that the whole point of Obama's trip to Egypt? To call out non-Muslims as uniquely evil?

I haven't read through the comments yet - forgive me - I have to just comment on the brilliance, brevity and elegance of construct in this piece by Raymond, which ought to be held up as an examplar of the most effective writing available at the moment, in exposing Pure Islam amd Mohammedism. He wrote, near the beginning:

IBRAHIM
"On January 24, during his State of the Union Address, the president of the United States has a chance to expose the plight of religious minorities living in Muslim majority nations. Doing so would not merely shed light on one of the most ignored humanitarian crises of the 21st century; it would help alleviate it."

then... at the end:

IBRAHIM
"Perhaps most importantly, the president of the United States should speak up because we live in a day and age where the reality of religious persecution under Islam is so well documented—unlike in the days of former U.S. presidents who may be excused—that to continue ignoring it is tantamount to abetting it. Just as history has recorded the great sufferings of non-Muslims under Islam, so too will it record the complacency or complicity of those who are in a great position to end the persecution, but refuse to do so."
__________________________________________________________

Beautifully framed agrument, which suggests that the horrors of Islam have been going on for ages, just as tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, etc., but in the 21st Century, we know virtually all that happens in the World, virtually.

His call to the President is, (only my opinion) almost a demand that the current President show mercy, at very least, by somehow acknowledging the carnage, suffering and Human flight from homelands.

Finally, Mr. Ibrahim's mention of complicity via non-action ought to wake Mr. Obama up from his stupor.
