Iran: Seeking nuclear weapons a "great sin"

Then, why the secrecy and subterfuge on the nuclear program?

In all likelihood, somewhere around the time of an Iranian nuclear test, we'll hear about the other side of the coin, a monumental "BUT..." and some claim of extenuating circumstances. "Iran says making nuclear bombs a 'great sin'," by Caroline Copley for Reuters, February 29:

GENEVA (Reuters) - Iran, facing growing international pressure over its nuclear program, called for more talks with the U.N. nuclear watchdog on Tuesday and condemned production of atomic weapons as a "great sin."

Iran says its nuclear program is peaceful but negotiations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have stalled and Western powers have grown increasingly concerned over the possible military dimensions of Tehran's atomic work.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, in a speech to the U.N.-sponsored Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, said he expected talks to continue and that he was optimistic they would proceed in the right direction.

"I would like to re-emphasize that we do not see any glory, pride or power in the nuclear weapons, quite the opposite based on the religious decree issued by our supreme leader, the production, possession, use or threat of use of nuclear weapons, are illegitimate, futile, harmful, dangerous and prohibited as a great sin," he said.

However many in the Western camp were skeptical, with the IAEA saying no further talks were scheduled, given what Western diplomats have described as Iran's unwillingness to address allegations of military nuclear research.

A report by the IAEA last week said Iran was significantly stepping up its uranium enrichment, a finding that sent oil prices higher on fears tensions between Tehran and the West could escalate into military conflict.

Israel has threatened to launch strikes to prevent Iran getting the bomb, saying Tehran's continued technological progress means it could soon pass into a "zone of immunity."

In high-level meetings between the IAEA and Iran, held in Tehran in January and February, Iranian officials stuck to a refusal to address intelligence reports about covert research relevant to developing nuclear weapons, Western diplomats say....

IRAN : "Iran: Seeking nuclear weapons a "great sin""

Yeh... sure "great sin" - pull the other one it got bells on it!

I hope the people in the authorities know better - firstly do not believe anything they say, because with 99.99999% certainty it is a liar; secondly, what they mean sin is not the same as we know sin. To cut your throat because you disagree with the Kuran is known as "ridding sin" in Iran-Islam.

Iran NOT seeking nuclear weapons, a great lie.

Clowns suffering from apocalyptachosis!

Okay if nuclear weapons are a "great sin", then how are you going to "wipe Israel off of the map", eh? And your desire to destroy Israel is of course an even greater sin. But Iran is too blinded by hatred to recognize that, right?

...yeah, and Iran is really lousy at it.

Iran will deny nukes right up to the second they launch one...Nothing these people say is credible...

Good point champ - to obliterate more than 12 million Jews is not a sin in their mind. What a bunch of absolute obnoxious class clowns.

Ya beat me to it, Wellington!

"Pure taqiyya", indeed.

Now remember, boys and girls, this is a decree spoken by a 'supreme' religious leader of Islam, so automatic alert bells on taqiyya and 'tawriya' ring furiously the alarm: Deceit deceit!! So when the learned ayatollah says the production and use of nuclear weapons are a "great sin", he refers to all those Infidel weapons already produced… not lying there… but not to those Iran is yet to produce… so he's clean on that part. So you see, boys and girls, he is not exactly lying when he calls those weapons a "great sin", since the edict does not apply to his and theirs… only to us. ;-) wink wink

Silly kufr and their stooge media will believe him, of course, even the nice polite BBC will believe him… Sigh…

Taqiyya (Arabic: التقية - 'fear, guard against') is the religiously sanctioned practice of lying or dissimulation. It is usually attributed to Shia Muslim practice.

the term "taqiyyah is derived from this verse of the Quran : "Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them [tattaqu minhum. from the same root tqy as taqiyah], taking (as it were) security [tuqatan. again from the same root as taqiyah]. Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself. Unto Allah is the journeying" (Quran, III, 28). This history would appear to indicate that Taqiyah is especially allowed in the case of dealings with nonbelievers.

The masters of deception are at it again. "Believe what we say, not what we do".

By the playbook - Iran says atomic weapons are a great sin. The U.S. and others do not lift sanctions against Iran. The U.S. and others are once again oppressive terrorists agains a nation of peace.

These people are SO predictable.

Nuclear weapons are only a great sin if used against non-heretical Muslims. Lying about them is not a great sin if they are to be used against Infidels - or against heretics.
It's all for life, liberty and the pursuit of heretics.

It would seem that the louder we call for Iran to become "TRANSPARENT" about all areas of their nuclear facility the greater the chances that there will not be a "Bunker buster bomb" inspection. It may come to that but the "economic blowback" feels pretty dire.

Further, is there a place to push back really hard towards all Muslim spokespeople, saying if you do not look long and hard at your talk of war that the prospects of a global religious war become quite real. Given European history of religious warfare that is a good way to wipe off 30-50% of the planet? What path do we really want to take?

bin Laden I think said: "I attacked the US because I was afraid God would punish me if I did not." Muslim scholars, what sayest thou? Is this appropriate for a global civilization? What do you suggest we do about such a situation? What processes are appropriate for resolving such differences?

"Iran: Seeking nuclear weapons a "great sin"..

I would like to hear the details as to why, it would give more information as to understand this position.

The devil is in the details.

Also..Truthseeker asks..

"Is this appropriate for a global civilization?"

Am unsure why one would need a "muslim scholar" to frame, in context, your question. Who says we are a global civilization? At least not yet, but only world war will reach such a N.W.O., A war that will most likely remove the threat of islam forever, as it would have world peace in such a goal. Commie vs islam, eh?

As the saying goes, there can be only one.

Islam closes minds

From p.82 of the United Nations Arab Human Development Report, 2003:

[In the Arab world] The aggregate total of translated books from the Al-Ma’moon era [over 1000 years ago] to the present day amounts to 10,000 books - equivalent to what Spain translates in a single year.

Was it also a "great sin" when millions of iranians fought and died in a 7 year war with iraq.

Actually, if we read his words closely, and inject a little creative punctuation, the man is actually saying that they DO seek what they claim they do not:

"I would like to re-emphasize that we do not see any glory, pride or power in the nuclear weapons, quite the opposite based on the religious decree issued by our supreme leader, the production, possession, use or threat of use of nuclear weapons, are illegitimate, futile, harmful, dangerous and prohibited as a great sin," he said."

"...we do not see any glory, pride or power...quite the opposite..."

Meaning, of course, that "we DO", since it is the opposite of "do not".
______________

Exceedingly devious wording and Taquiyya - all of it - and these guys have 1400 years of examplars to follow in order to assuage the fears of the unsuspecting Infidel.

Iran claims that nuclear weapons are a "great sin" ..yeah, sure they are ...

But they aren't opposed to using other means, read this excerpt dated 2-29 from WND:

"The Guards have also armed hundreds of speed boats with high explosives for suicide attacks against U.S. Navy assets and the shipping traffic in the Gulf. Sources within the Guards also reveal that the Guards have been training pilots for suicide attacks against U.S. assets in the Gulf by using smaller planes loaded with explosives."

~~~~~~~~~~
Okay so Iran is prepared to use speed boats and planes in kamikaze attacks, but not nuclear weapons? Right!
Of course, what the Iranians won’t tell you is that because the West has nuclear weapons then they need to have them too, evidenced by the fact that a Fatwa issued by Iranian clerics in 2006 explicitly stated that “shari’a [law] does not forbid the use of nuclear weapons” because “what is important is what goal they may be used for.” And we all know perfectly well what goal that would be ...
http://wp.me/p1qlPa-2YQ
Let me ask the question I always ask when a high level Iranian makes this kind of statement:
Can anyone point to any Iranian condemnation of Pakistan's building and testing of nuclear weapons? Anyone?
There won't be one because "shari’a [law] does not forbid the use of nuclear weapons" according to Iranian clerics.
Ah, yes—a "great sin" they were forced into by the perfidious actions of the Great Satan! sarc/ff
Good post, Midnightwatcher. Thanks for tracking down that Fatwa...
"Taqiyya" is great equalizer for any shotcomings militarily.
Indeed Taqiyya is a geat weapon better than the trojan horse. Because taqiyya wins the total trust of the enemy. Which as you may have guest allows better access to where ever you wish.
We hear everyday someone say, "Oh I know a couple of Muslims and they seem very friendly". The U.S. legislators have always befriended Muslims and given them not just equal rights, but special rights. The news media have done the same or worse. Why? Because they were taught in college that Islam was similar to Christianity.
