Report: Western countries look the other way as Syrian rebels smuggle in weapons

“It is coming from everywhere, including Western countries and it is not difficult to get anything through the borders … There is not a decision by any country to arm the rebels but countries are allowing Syrians to buy weapons and send them into the country.”

What could possibly go wrong? “Syrian rebels get arms from abroad as Russia calls for an urgent ceasefire in Homs,” from Al Arabiya, February 24:

Western and other countries are turning a blind eye to weapons purchases by Syrian exiles who are already smuggling light arms, communications equipment and night vision goggles to rebels inside Syria, a Syrian opposition source said on Friday as Russia called for an urgent ceasefire in the Syrian city of Homs.

As many as 94 people have been killed by the fire of Syrian security forces, mostly in Hama, on Friday, activists at the Syrian Revolution Commission told Al Arabiya.

Syrian opposition supporters were also trying to find ways to bring anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons to the Free Syrian Army, which is composed mainly of Syrian soldiers who have defected and volunteer civilians, the source said.

Contacts were also ongoing to find ways to get retired Syrian officers into the country to act as advisers in an effort to coordinate rebels fighting in a near year-long uprising against Bashar al-Asad’s rule.

“We are bringing in defensive and offensive weapons… It is coming from everywhere, including Western countries and it is not difficult to get anything through the borders,” the source told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“There is not a decision by any country to arm the rebels but countries are allowing Syrians to buy weapons and send them into the country.” […]

No western country should try in any way to intervene in Syria. One way or another, they alone will determine their fate and that is as it should be. As they say “Inshallah”.

The above is really good news. Let the Syrian Sunni opposition, and their supporters – the Saudis and Turks in particular – spend money in providing them w/ weapons they need in fighting the regime, so that there’s less money to spend on dawa in the West. Somebody should also work in getting Hizbullah to send all their fighters to Syria, and also supply the Assad regime w/ the weapons they need to battle them. Also, get as many Palis to fight on whichever side in this conflict they want to support – whether it’s Hamas supporting the Ikhwan forces in Syria, or Islamic Jihad or PFLP supporting the Assad regime.

In fact, the more Jihadis from all sorts of places who could be put into Syria, the better. Just make sure both sides are balanced, so that they can play out the ‘Two cats of Kilkenny’.

The awful part is that the ‘rebels’ hide among women and children in these apt bldgs, then what happens? This seems to be their main strategy in order to gain Western sympathy.

    Dear brothers and Sisters

As we see the rise of Islam growing in the North African region and across the Middle East. We must pray that God in His soveringty will move.

An article here about Egypt and Tunisia in how they are growing rapidly and trying to destroy any other thing than Islam.

Its pretty obvious Asad is not a monsterous dictator like Sadaam was, but don’t complicate the shallow media/State Dept’s narrative with details like a pending religious cleansing and genocide of Asad’s Alawites and Syrian Christians by majority Sunni Muslims once the Islamists take over from fairly liberal Alawite Muslims.

Since this is totally predictable outcome, arming the Syrian Sunnis should be a war crime.

How many more gullible journalists will lose their lives writing propaganda for the Syrian Islamists soon to create another sharia state?

You seem to know a lot about buying weapons! Do you buy weapons for jihadists?

    Syria’s genocide ….

I want to know what the world is going to do about the genocide happening in Syria right now ….

I know every one is saying let Muslims kill Muslims…. who are we to stop them …The world, will be better off, after they are done with each other…

But The thing is…. Muslim families are not the only ones who are getting killed and getting trampled in the destruction …

There are many Syrian Christians …Armenian Christians … Syrian Jews ….Kurds …Druze …
    Another reason

If we care about saving lives of fetuses that are 1 or 2 or week old in the womb of every Humen female that ever lived because God created it and the understanding is, we should protect the voiceless and helpless, who cannot do for them selves …

But Syrian children of all religions are helpless …who do feel pain and feel starvation and ARE forced to be homeless …

Where is the protection for the ones are ALREADY here on this earth and cannot help them selves because some Muslim monsters have the power which they gained using powerful weapons and absolute disregard for humen life.

The world could DO something!!! … right now!!! … like air targeting Syrian amy tanks and airplanes …Syrian army is nothing like the Iraqi’s or Iranian’s … it is weak and the soldiers are untrained and there weapons are left overs from WWII …

I know the world is sick and tired of helping Muslim countries and then they get accused of occupation and greed ….that is wrong accusation and I feel the same thing way .like every one here ……

But So what … let them say what they want

The west and especially the US … looked on in Islamic world as the leaders of the world even when they resent THE FACT that they need them and have to ask for help …

*******Syrian are asking every day ******** and no one is doing any thing!!!!!

They do not need apologies from Obama ….like he did for the mistaken burning of Quran

they do not need meetings called “the friend of Syria ” which amount to nothing !!!!…

words are EMPTY!!!! just like the stomachs of children of Hums !!!!

Words are words …. where is food and medicine to these helpless living people …

I know Muslims of Syria have no right to ask … after the hate they have shown to The wast …but what to do ? … what to do? … in the face of this inhuman and barbaric acts

When are we ever going to act as one race!!!! …. called THE HUMEN race !!!!… nothing else ?

WHEN ARE WE EVER ????????? !!!!!!!

The U.S. still can’t tell the difference between a rebel and a terrorist. So I suggest they just back off and take care of the problems here the the U.S.A..

Or at least learn about Sharia Law, The Qu’ran, The hadith, the sira, Muhammad, jihad, taqiyya, and the motivation that keeps Islam committed to their ideology.

  9. says

    Right!

Also note this shifty bit of news…..Hamas NOW backing the Rebels in Syria……

Let’s use our drones and off-shore fleets with missiles in our war against creeping Islam.

No more United States land deployments of massed men and materiel in Central/West Asia.

Let’s defend our only ally Israel, the rest of Islam being free to butcher each other in their centuries’-long nurtured hatreds and feuds.

I know you are originally from Syria, Fine Living. But I don’t think the situation there is as clear-cut as you believe.

Certainly, Assad is an oppressive dictator. But your belief that things will necessarily be better off without him seems ill-founded.

There are some members of the opposition that merely want to get rid of a tyrant”but there are many more with some pretty ugly links to Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaida.

I know that part of your appeal is over the fate of Christians, Druze, and other religious minorities.

But the fact is that Assad’s ouster is likely to result in a massacre of Christians, Druze, and minority Shi’ites”and likely out-and-out genocide of minority Alawites.

Your assumption that Syria will be democratic and peaceful after Assad seems as hollow as the idea that Libya is a solid democracy after the slaying of Gadaffi”rather than the hell of chaos, torture, and revenge killings that it is today.

I wish better for your homeland, Fine Living”but I don’t think you’re going to get it courtesy of another short-sighted bombing campaign from NATO…
